Like seeing more Decathlon products here! I just got the dome version of the MT900, with the white footprint. Not a fan of the color, since every bit of dirt can be seen from a mile.
I always champion decathlon stuff. Proper fan boy! Excellent quality, but they always do silly colours and a lot of the tents weigh more than other brands so it becomes less appealing. If that tent was the same both sides with the poles it'd so even better! I've got a bright silver and orange decathlon tent and certainly not stealthy but it didn't budge in high winds got 3 or 4 decathlon tents and sold 2 more of them. Now if only they could build it with undyed beige/khaki colours...
Good morning world at 4.30am in the summer! You’ll have to sleep with your sunglasses on! Also at night with a lamp on in there everyone is going to see what you’re up to! Not something I’d go for
I can see where they’ve gone with this and what it’s competition is. Interesting but not for me. Why would they make it white? Another good vid tho Paul
Hi Paul, good review and looks like a quality product. Even if it's all white! You mentioned Forclaz do a 1 person version of this tent. Having trouble finding it online...do you have a link to it by any chance?
To be honest I'd like to go summer camping with just the tent fly. I looks like it could stand by itself in minimal winds/sheltered places. And decathlon do sell only the fly, at least here in Europe.
I like the look of the white but I think for summer in Scotland with the long days it would just be too bright while trying to sleep. And not stealth enough in England and Wales for wild camping where you don’t want to be seen.
I love this tent and I Love the colour, the weight and the price! I would possibly like to see one or two more guy lines but it does look like there's enough room between the inner and the fly and i would like to see a more solid inner, to make it more 4 season. 2000 hh is ok but would like to see 3000 if I'm honest but that's been picky. When is the 2 person available, do you know? Thanks for the overview. EDIT - It's available now. On order :-)
Like the tent but not the colour ( or lack thereof) I prefer to blend in a bit more and be less prominent if wild camping. In a public camp site it would be fine though.
Comparison to a Lanshan 2 springs to mind. I like the idea of the short poles to create more head room. But then it’s shorter than a Lanshan and also losing a good 10cm headroom. - Why does nobody consider hikers/campers taller than 180cm, the average height of a European male, meaning about half of that population is taller? And then there are the extra 300g on the Lanshan 2.
Looks pretty decent. I reckon that guy line would go to the ground via another pole. Saw the Scarp one fail due to being guyed to the ground like that, but I’m sure you’ll know that 😉
I agree it would be better and have done that with my scarp. Only issue is I only have 2 arms so don't carry 3 poles. I could look for branches but not up a mountain
@@PaulMessner In the tent's defence, that guy line does connect to a seam rather than the middle of a large panel of fabric, which will help spread any stress load. No idea if that makes much difference mind...

Would be great stealth camping on a cloud, but then it would be difficult to keep the pegs in.
Probably decathlons most value for money tent now. Considering the warranty that is included too. Prefer the original variant with the darker orange grey interior though. Paired with carbon tarp poles it’s quite hard to beat.
Like seeing more Decathlon products here! I just got the dome version of the MT900, with the white footprint. Not a fan of the color, since every bit of dirt can be seen from a mile.
Looks good, very tempted. What happens if you try pitching it without the two end poles?
Just been camping in a white tent. Wide awake at 0430 with The light steaming in.
beautiful white tent, its a fancy to wake up in, might get it :>
Don't know about the colour, but it looks like a decent tent. Have you tried out on an over nighter or a weekend excusion?
That looks really interesting, could you please tell me roughly how long the short poles at the end are?
Not even advertised on the US decathlon site sadly. Great looking tent
For what it is worth they have a decent R&D department and always encourage customers to send feedback on their products.
I love it, the white looks fantastic. Might be hard to keep clean though...
Good morning world at 4.30am in the summer! You’ll have to sleep with your sunglasses on!
Also at night with a lamp on in there everyone is going to see what you’re up to!
Not something I’d go for
Looks like a good standard of quality
Looks great for the money. Thanks for sharing sir 🙏
I can see where they’ve gone with this and what it’s competition is. Interesting but not for me. Why would they make it white? Another good vid tho Paul
I like it, wonder the most how the 1 person tent looks like though :) Cant find any video on it yet.
I would say definitely summer only !
If the outer comes away from the inner could you not dye it green? Would it effect the waterproof properties?
Must be like waking up inside a Wedding Cake I guess, not a bad looking tent though all the same. Cheers Paul
Hi Paul, good review and looks like a quality product. Even if it's all white! You mentioned Forclaz do a 1 person version of this tent. Having trouble finding it online...do you have a link to it by any chance?
It’s mentioned here although may not yet be released. www.forclaz.co.uk/minimal-editions-undyed
@@PaulMessner Cheers Paul... Yes it does seem currently a bit illusive! Look forward to seeing it when it's out...
To be honest I'd like to go summer camping with just the tent fly. I looks like it could stand by itself in minimal winds/sheltered places.
And decathlon do sell only the fly, at least here in Europe.
yeah and at 60€ It would probably cost me more to buy thet raw material only. what a steal
Bet there's not many that will understand your title of this video.. Only us ageing dinosaurs 😅
The programme is still going, the last episode was December last year. I've not seen it for about 30 years though...
I like the look of the white but I think for summer in Scotland with the long days it would just be too bright while trying to sleep. And not stealth enough in England and Wales for wild camping where you don’t want to be seen.
Pretty slick! 👊🏻
Decathlon tents are fantastic but I wish I would do a green or khaki colour
I love this tent and I Love the colour, the weight and the price! I would possibly like to see one or two more guy lines but it does look like there's enough room between the inner and the fly and i would like to see a more solid inner, to make it more 4 season. 2000 hh is ok but would like to see 3000 if I'm honest but that's been picky. When is the 2 person available, do you know? Thanks for the overview. EDIT - It's available now. On order :-)
It's got some bad reviews on their own website, is it really worth the £159 they are selling it for? I'm unsure tbh.
Like the tent but not the colour ( or lack thereof) I prefer to blend in a bit more and be less prominent if wild camping. In a public camp site it would be fine though.
Do you think this would be a good tent to use all year round.
An excellent snow-stealth option.
Could be good for an overnighter to blend in with the surroundings on the ice planet of Hoth instead of slumming it inside a dead Tauntaun 😂
Hope this will be available in north america because it looks interesting
I thought it would be about £70 not £160😆 2000mm H/H! I would go for a Lanshan 2 cheaper and 5000HH
Too see through for my liking, would be excellent for early risers, definitely not stealth camper friendly
You would never forget which tent is yours 👍
Perfect tent for newlyweds.
😂😂
Hi Paul, could you do a review of the Naturehike/Light tour 5.8 sleeping pad? It would really mean a lot.
I'm guessing it'll let a lot of light in and it'll be like trying to kip in daylight if there's a full moon.
Imagine what it would be like here in the Arctic it’s 24hour sun! This is my main no no with these see-through tents. May as well have no tent…..
@@Petestleger im just about to buy a scarp 2? Anything i should know about it?
@@dx-xb The only thing I can say is that I'd have more faith in a tie-out point along a seam rather than in the middle of a large panel - there is more material to add strength. I have zero expertise on the matter, and I'm not in a possition to judge the merits of an idividual tent. So, please don't take my comment as any way criticising or endorsing any product as used per instructions. Sorry, and I hope you enjoy your adventures whatever! 😃
@@darrendazzertodd It did happen, I watched it, but it doesn't appear on the relevant feed for whatever reason. My uneducated view is that as long as you're not putting unrealistic expectations on the gear, it will do what it says. I think the best lesson from that is that sometimes, with the best will in the world, shit can happen. Be aware, be prepared. And, most importantly, enjoy.
And now we have the Forclaz INCIDENT TENT!! 🕵️♂️
Looks like something the kids make in the living room with bed sheets
I laughed with sound on this one :)))))))))
A white tent should be cooler right?
Wish this was available in Canada.
I like it!
Wouldn't fancy been cooped up in it for weeks on end
For a long time I have been looking for a tent that could fit in my backpack.
Love the design but it's far too bright for me. If it was green or brown I'd be all over it
They're available now in shop in Spain at €189.99. The MT900 dome version, (2m), is €239.99.
Please post a link to the 1P version. I could not find it online.
I'd give it a go.. 👍
A tent that you would have to use enough to become naturally camo coloured!
You can also by the inner and outer seperatly for less. I don't know if that's including the short poles. There might be the opportunity to replace the aluminium short poles with carbin poles.
@@robertdavies9435 carbon is much weaker and heavier then aluminum
there is a single version and that one is in the 70-120 dollar range.
That's going to be a bugger to keep clean!
I like the color.
Your review was way way KUUL.
Why's it in bloody white though
Can it be used with only the flysheet?
Doubles up as a light box for product photography.
Do they have a 1 person?
Looks a good tent but I wouldn’t call it cheap when they saved on not bothering to dye it . Bout same price as the lanshan that is dyed
LS is less expencive and much lighter and more durable (water and wind worthy)
