Born and raised in Seattle. ID is actually one of the safest neighborhoods with the best food, even though it looks a bit older. I love the neighborhood
Benji I enjoyed this video. My husband and I headed to Seattle soon, we will definitely be trying out those spots especially the coffee shop! Waiting for Part 2 lol
Great insider tip video! Probably won’t ever get the chance to visit Seattle, but this is informative video. This week I had coffee and sparkling water together for the first time, and it’s must now.
Damn dim sum king is my pre breakfast meal before storm games on the way to climate pledge arena! I love coming to that spot! The pho bac used to be in that boat in front of the shop ya’ll went to before they moved it into that new location, and before you can choose what meats you wanted to add in the pho then having set menu. And I personally like the Seattle best tea. Hahah, I’m a local too. I love coming to Chinatown before and after games. Also the homeless under the bridge and going into pioneer square are more aggressive towards the afternoon cause the drugs, plus they’re cold.
I grew up in Seattle (since '78) & haven't hung out in the ID much since pre-COVID - especially since the increased crime. It's totally not what it used to be when I was young. These videos are really helpful to reacquaint myself with the ID. BTW, Pho Bac started out in a little shack right at the intersection in front of where the new restaurant - where The Boat is now. PS, I used to be able to find free parking around the perimeter of the ID - mainly during the weekday or Sundays; I wonder if those free parking areas are still available?
Vivace is really phenomenal. I'm so jealous of you guys. I want to go back to Seattle just for their espresso. Last time I went I got two drinks. Did I sleep that night? Hardly. Did I mind? Nope.
you should take the family to UW again once the cherry blossoms are out!! i could give you guys a tour and access to one of the prettiest view spots/study spots! i know you guys are familiar with the campus but i'd love to give a tour hehe. it's so crazy how i was julianna's age when i started watching and now i'm in university :')
you need to feature the new filipino restaurants like Musang which is really good filipino fusion and her new bulalo spot Kilig there in international dist pls
We want to mainly stay in seattle, but we want to see stores we normally don't have in our state. Daiso, jollibee, chinatown, japantown, and other places. Should we get a car rental, or take the train or the free bussing? will be there for 8 days!
If your staying in downtown area, which most of those places are in the area except for jollibee, then uber or train might work. There’s just some sketchy areas in seattle you have to be careful of. Renting a car can be costly because of parking unless you’re staying somewhere it’s free to park. How many times and how far away from downtown will determine it but my gut is saying use uber, public transportation. Ask locals advice too.
I Appreciate that parking situation Matt! 🙏🏽🙏🏽 It's so annyoing trying to find parking in Seattle! 😒🤦🏾♀️ Benji you forgot in Hawaii we call those steam buns "MANAPUA" the Best in the WORLD! 😋😂❤ I have to try "New Town Bakery" One day! 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Matt is a cutie 🥰. And you are too Benji. Thanks for this. I’m from Toronto but will be visiting Seattle next month so will definitely check out these places plus Pike place market 😊
And, 99.9% of homeless people are just normal ass people trying to make it.. I was homeless for many years, I wondered around with 500 sunglasses never got fucked with. The barbed wire place is my favorite place in all of I.D. 100% vegan too didn't know this for this for the 1st year going there. And the end of the day... No one is going to fuck with you/ hurt you unless you do something to deserve it.
The video would have still been informative without the ill comments towards the unhoused community in the neighborhood. For the most part, unless you are actively harming them, they will not engage with you. Everyone is just trying to make it. Empathy goes a long way.
No such thing as International District. We're Americans. The collective name of Chinatown, Japantown, Little Saigon is Chinatown International District by City Ordiannce 119297 (1999). I'll email you the documentation. Chinatown is also on the National Register as Seattle Chinatown Historic District (1986).
I was at dim sum king last week after not being there for over a year and I can't believe you think it's the best place to eat dim sum it was some of the greasiest worst I've ever had and so cold like it had been made forever ago pushy staff too. Probably not going back. I've eaten dim sum and other Asian delights all over Asia where I lived for 6 years and ln Asian's homes. I've visited IDs Worldwide Including Australia Vancouver Houston Chicago etc Seattle's Chinatown ID has been treated like a stepchild and it's too sad there are too many bad restaurants there when I was there a week ago I did wanna try the new Korean restaurants but they were too crowded maybe that's a good sign But there's a lot of bad food in the ID it's not safe at night and it's not safe for a woman by yourself in the daytime though I have been there in the daytime alone the even though I didn't feel comfortable and I did have some scary encounters. Is had a friend doing a concert at hinghay park And unfortunately a tweaker Came by on a skateboard and scooped up all the cash in his case and the little senior Asian audience was appalled I'm so glad that the biggest advocate for the ID has now been elected to the Seattle city council I hope she'll be an effective voice to get that place to wear it should be and could be

Thoroughly enjoyed this food tour!
Love this!!
Those are not spring rolls... its called rice wraps! Everything looks so bomb!
you need to feature the new filipino restaurants like Musang which is really good filipino fusion and her new bulalo spot Kilig there in international dist pls
Why didn't you take the leftovers from the pho place? it looked too good to go to waste.
They're walking all over the city, its not practical to bring leftovers with them into new places.

Benji or Matt! Please come to Toronto Canada and make a food video! Love you both❤

I loved this video…..you and Matt just eating and chatting like regular bros. More of this please.
22:40 i could never understand why you have to always stick your tongue out whenever u eat..😅😅😅 i tend to always look away when ur eating..
I'm from New York City so Seattle wouldn't worry me one bit, lol.
My sentiments exactly! I wouldn't be phased either! New yorkers got the craziest homeless people!
Thanks for coming to my hood! Hello Em! And if you love Thrift Shoppin', Goodwill is next door.😂
In Hawaii we call the steamed meat buns "Manapua"
Wait, what was the name of the first dim sum stop. With the “footballs” lol
Oh! Din sum King!

is Matt half filipino?
In Oslo, you can barely pay w cash at restaurants.

Hi benji❤❤❤
You should collaborate with Lao Ocean. He does great restaurant reviews
PS. Fun video!😋😋
Geez Matt is handsome 🥵

High crime areas are not good, especially for women. I will enjoy the experience through videos. The food looks amazing!!

Benji you’re being very obnoxiously loud in that restaurant. Be considerate of other diners.
He is wearing a mic, chill
Asians are loud except for the Japanese so it's Ok, I guess 😂
Lily isn’t showing much love today
@PetuniaPicklebutt😂😂😂 insightful
What an irrelevant comment you decided to make. Lol
