For those curious, 40 knots is roughly 46mph or 74kph!I think those rusted bits you found may be crankshaft counterweights or something similar. What an incredible episode! A perfect nautilus, farbrige cray, and a super rare dolphin! So glad you were able to escape that wind. Grateful as always to the two of you for sharing what you can with us.🙏

Your videos are way more entertaining than anything on TV. Fran has the facial features, eyes, hair and smile of a fashion model. More closeups please. Also, more of her voice. Also, more of your trails and tribulations. It makes it real. But thank you for avoiding the forced drama of the reality shows. You folks are the real deal. Thank you.

Well done not turning into croc poo. Sneaky feckers they are. Great to see you both dealing with what it really means to be doing what you are doing. Like farming, the weather is not in your control. Wishing you both much success, still an amazing and entertaining adventure to watch, job done! Stay safe, have fun! 👍👌🐟

Stric and Fran, thanks so much for inviting us along to your adventure. Although I’ve been to the reef before it was because of your videos that I decided to tow my boat up from Sydney fishing the entire east coast from Sydney to the tip. Fishing out from Sesia wharf and camping near Lockhart river were some of many highlights (most of which I won’t mention here). Your vid’s remind an older fart like me that it’s still doable.

Hi Strick and Fran; I also had a Croc follow my boat about 5 kilometre's on the western side of Woodah Island in the Gulf of the Northern Territory. Just inside of the southern tip of the first bay I pulled in a crab trap, whose float wash squashed and deep tooth marks. I noticed the croc on the surface about 200 meters away. I motored to the next suitable bay, anchored the big boat, then took off a short distance in the tinny to fish. The same croc surfaced between my two boats. The croc watched me as I watched it for a while; while fishing. I got annoyed so 20 minutes later, I started the motor and sped full throttle towards the croc and down it went. I then realised my stupidity, I did not know where it was. Idiot. I put my gear together and went else where.

I totally understand, but we do love it when you do catch clean and cooks and spearfishing. So please try not to make a habit of thes types of videos. We watch to see you guys do survival videos where you catch clean and cook your meals and Frans great Bush recipes and underwear action, but I totally understand why you did this video to show it's not always as easy as people think with what you do. I also understand why this video was so short, but a lot of your recent videos have been short, So please try to make longer videos in the future. God bless you both! Jim from So Cal USA. 😢😮

The metal had keyway slots cut where you place a softer piece of keyway metal so an engine doesn't explode into shrapnel if whatever is on the end of a rotating shaft locks up tight. e.g. A boat prop that wedges tight into rocks. If that happens the shaft spinning at xxxRPM wants to continue spinning. So instead of breaking the engine into pieces the softer keyway metal shears off and the shaft then just spins freely. The other zigzag looking thing you touched looks like a large cam that opens/closes intake/exhaust valves as it rotates inside an engine. So it's some kind of engine. And given it was smack on the beach it's probably a marine engine.

In my land lubber opinion mind you . I would carry. Two small stills one for water one for fuel
Fifty pounds of rice . Twenty pounds of protein powder
Lime juice , Salt , and flour
Sugar and coffee . 180 gallons of drinking water you will need over a gallon a day each .
Charcoal clean sand . For a water filter A 357. For the critters . And I’m tired of typing on this little key board
    Enjoy the next one
