    Hi Gals, This tutorial was a dream to sew. I have made a 4th of July themed 5" square size to accommodate the fabric I had, and it's lovely for a house warming gift for my daughter in Washington. I have cut 5 other 7 " square tops out of flowered and tooled leather-like fabrics, ready for batting and sewing together. Your tutorials are like finding a gem in the sea of sewing tutorials because they are easy and informative. Thank you, Judy in Idaho

    Oh wow!!!! A very big light bulb has gone off in my brain with this wonderful tutorial!!!! I have been totally and completely scared of panels as I didn’t have a clue as to what to do with them except put the big ones in the middle of a quilt and just add borders for the size wanted. I took some screen shots all through your tutorial so I can actually remember how these table toppers are done. I love that first Christmas one you showed - I just might be able to find fabrics close to those you used when I travel up north this coming week (I know a shop in PA that just might have something similar😄😄). Thank you again for a great tutorial - I just came across it a little bit ago!!!!

    Do you recommend straight line stitching around all the blocks to hold it better together once finished stitching around all the edges(points)??

    • @TheSewingBasket
      @TheSewingBasket  11 місяців тому +1

      Yes some additional quilting is good.

    • @TheSewingBasket
      @TheSewingBasket  11 місяців тому +1

      Always check your batting package it will tell you how much quilting you need to do. It will say how many inches apart your quilting can be and still have the batting remain stable.

    Enjoyed the tutorial and the gal speaking has a nice voice for projecting. However, I think the mic was to close and got alot of raspy and crackling during the entire video. I had to turn my volume down extremely low to keep from the rasp and crackling in her voice. Thanks for sharing🧵🪡

    I making it with 5" squares I don't want it too big for my table? Awesome 🥰when sewing the 9 patch do you open seams or iron toward the dark? How do you sew the half rectangle ?

    • @TheSewingBasket
      @TheSewingBasket  3 роки тому +1

      Yes. You can use any size square. They’re really cute with 5 inch squares. Press towards the dark. The triangles are placed right sides together and stitched with a 1/4” seam. Then the triangles will “flip” open creating the points. We have our own network with lots more videos and projects. You can find it at play.sewingbasket.biz We hope to see you there

    • @encarnacionada2
      @encarnacionada2 3 роки тому

      Thank you when sewing the triangle you sew them to the back right side facing up or to the front right side up & same color of thread or any color ?

    • @TheSewingBasket
      @TheSewingBasket  3 роки тому

      @@encarnacionada2 topper is face up and triangle is face down. This is called right sides together and often abbreviated RST on quilting patterns. A thread that coordinates with your project is fine. It won’t be seen. Have fun.

    Great tutorial and wonderful way to use some panels I have. How did you complete the topper though. Did you do stitch in the ditch. Did you do a 1/8 or 1/4 inch seam around the table topper to hold all together. Would be nice for us new ones doing this to have suggestions. Thank you.

    • @TheSewingBasket
      @TheSewingBasket  3 роки тому

      We "pillow cased" it. Batting on back of backing fabric, placed right sides together with front of topper. Sew around at 1/4" seam allowance. Leave a hole to turn right side out and them top stitch around outer edge. How big does this table topper measure?

    • @TheSewingBasket
      @TheSewingBasket  2 роки тому

      Size is dependent on the size squares you use. 10 inch squares will get you about 38 inches. Any size square as long as they are the same size. You can figure approximately a little less 4 times the size of your square that you choose to make it fit any size table.
