When these channels discover 'hidden gems' usually they are not so hidden. Tropea (5k habitants) is the most visited town in Calabria with half million tourists in 2023. If you want to see real hidden gems there are plenty of other villages like Diamante, Amantea, Le castella... these are hidden gems
I would like to understand the concept of "poverty" with which the Calabria region is identified in this video... I don't see that people aren't dying of hunger, they all have a stain, shopping centers, schools, hospitals, etc. Crime? It's everywhere. In Japan there's the Yakuza, in Russia the Russian mafia, in China there's the Chinese one, or the Bronx in New York where they rob tourists etc.... But I don't see that when you go to these countries, they warn tourists about the local mafias. In Calabria there are no Islamic attacks like in Europe! Maybe a little less stereotypes would help us live better!
Come on now. Just look at the average income of Veneto or Lombardia compared to Calabria or Sicily. Also, I have been to Italy many times (Lombardia, Veneto, Emiglia Romana, Latium, Campania, Toscana, Umbria, Liguria, FVG). I was the victim of crime only once, and that was in Campania. Such a wonderful place and also nice people, but just too many bad people too.The south of Italy has lots of wonderful things, but you cannot deny the crime and poverty compared to the north or center. I don´t see much hope for the South of Italy, unfortunately.
As the grandchild of a Calabrian, I long for a big, meaty documentary on Calabria, full of rich details about its history and culture.
The guide lady seems so unassuming and genuine. I would definitely avail her services when I visit Tropea.
Looks beautiful!

Ma dici che prima o poi la calabria diventerà mai conosciuta
@@francescocapellupo3496 se metteranno voli per arrivarci e se i calabresi si impegneranno per organizzarsi nell'accoglienza, prima o poi lo diventerà
So after this video it will be packed with tourists 😂
I was thinking the same....Give it some time LOL!!
It means more employment for the locals.
Me too….
I went there some years ago. It's beautiful! The sea is clear, almost transparent. Furthermore it isn't a very expensive touristic place.
Meanwhile, in Canada. Work, come home, maybe stop at the gym and then go to sleep. This is what they call an 'advanced society'
Always watch DW Travel with big pleasure)
....i don't understand how tourists can enjoy a place so crowded....
Next overcrowded place
Hello from Bucharest, Romania - a huge underrated city in Europe:)
Tell me more about Bucharest & Romania.
👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍
Calabria says, “ Nope, nothing to see here, move along to Florence or Milan, thank you…”
let's get beach.
gem
Ndrangheta don't touch the guests 🤔😅
Parlate male perché siete invidiosi di una regione che un giorno conosceranno in tutto il mondo
they only harass local business owners right?
No, they are engaged in international drug trafficking.
I hate this kind of videos, mass tourism is a pestilence, stay where you are
While it is screwing the locals, this place would be absolutely dilapidated without tourism’s support. Unless you’re in the mafia.
Sadly just like Naples Sicily and Calabria there is a big criminal element there

they don't warn nobody about the local mafia, cuz the mafia doesn't do petty crime, that is mostly done by migrants, mainly black and arabs
