  • Since I made this video, I've realized this Hines Oregon location is an outlier, and in most of the other places with Superchargers the cost is really comparable to that of gas. That being said, pros include the ease of plugging and charging, no smells of oil, and easy in-vehicle navigation. The cons are... just too many supercharging stops! Compared to gas stations 😆 Also not enough units in remote areas, which can lead to range anxiety when traveling to national parks etc. Finally, while the excellent camera helps backing in, only very few units allow for headfirst parking and charging.

Why tap the taillight when you can unlock it from the screen? Or use the button on the plug? Great minds think alike! 😆

Watts on Wheels rental car company in Portugal has loads of teslas on the fleet and no one takes a car without trying it in the DC charger in the garage. Which is pretty much the same process as a Supercharger.

Oh that sounds way better than at Hertz. They even admitted people steal the adapter and charging cables from the Teslas, so not all of them come with those essential items. Facepalm

@@LockdownTechToys It's pretty simple: make sure the client knows the cables were included by physically show them where they are upon delivery and make sure they're there on arrival. If not, charge them. Super easy process they have there!

Exactly! Hertz must get the clients to show them the adapter and cable are still present upon return of the vehicle. It's as easy as checking the battery charge level. They even lock the glovebox with a password, why not check for this? Almost got stranded due to the lack of a $20 plastic piece!

This is good to know for me. I’m a Tesla owner but will be going on a trip soon. I don’t wanna drive anything else so I’ll be renting a Tesla from hertz

@booooooooooooooooooooooo Appreciate your comment! Are you going to urban areas or to the national/state parks? If you're driving long distance, maybe its better to make sure Hertz includes the J 1772 adapter and charging cable. Or you can bring your own since you own a Tesla already. I didn't know this and drove all the way to Yellowstone's North Entrance, only to find out there was no way to charge, without the adapter! No physical stores seem to sell it either
