This car doesn't sound good. You can say it has an interesting exhaust and fake pumped in sound, but the motor itself sounds rather dull like any other turbo 2.0
It's amazing that Hyundai are the first to put in an infotainment option to turn off bullshit audio "enhancement" of engine noise. I would turn it off day one and never turn it on again.
The fact that this has an actual LSD and not an open front diff like the Accord Sport means it will be a far more sporting driver and not a one-wheel-peel machine. I really wish they would make an Accord Si, something with an actual LSD.
So much nicer than a WRX and with the Civic Si being a massive let down to me in terms of performance, it is nice to see Hyundai actually give us the power we really want for an afforable price.
Nice tour of Sonoma. The area you did your spirited driving run in is more entertaining going the other way, IMO. It's mostly downhill once you pass the cow crossing (just after where you pulled off), which gives the last few corners added entertainment. Love the car. It'll likely be my next. Cheers.
holy shit, thats so cool! we have kia stinger 3.3 and i30N and i20N i have been testing and kona N but damn, this thing look good! hyundai is doing great"
Strong possibility the 11th Gen TCR may have the 7-speed out of the ILX or 10-speed out of the Accord 2.0T. Hot hatch market is shifting to now include DCTs or some form of automatic
I live in Seoul, the hometown of Elantra. In Korea, it is called Avante, not Elantra, and this n model is a good product both in design and performance in Korea.
GR86 OR ELANTRA N with DCT? I'm looking for a fun sports car with a good automatic. And yes, I can drive manual, used to drive Hyundai i20 1.2 Kappa Manual back in the day, I have never driven a sports with paddle shifters and I want to try something like that! I was really hoping that GR86 would have a good auto but its a sloppy AT that doesn't even downshift most of the time. DCT from Hyundai's are really good but I'm just concerned that I won't have enough fun in a FWD? Also, I daily a 2015 Toyota Camry FWD and want to add another car for fun and GR86 is very interesting, but I just don't think that AT is good enough and I don't want to have manual because I want to try a fun RWD sports car. Can someone please help??
in the same dilemma. I have a family sedan and used to have an ecoboost mustang. Depending on the economy I am looking at getting a 30k or 40k sporty car in the next two years. In the 30k range I was looking at auto GR 86 and elantra N, just like you. (In case you are interested in the 40k range I was looking at mustang GT and nissan Z)
Elantra N is FF but it has stiff settings(chassis, suspension) and it is oversteery. It's never like Camry FWD and you don't have to worry. If you take your car to circuit, Elantra will be better choice. Dct comes with overboost function but manual doesn't. DCT: Elantra N / Manual: GR86
The GR86 isn't anywhere near the power level of the EN. The 8SP DCT is the best in the class. Avoid the 7SP though in the older versions. I have a 2017 ES 6MT and it's awesome.
hyundai has really stepped it up! really hope mazda does something like this in the near future because i love the luxury and feel of mazda, really huge fan. The Mazda3 turbo is amazing but doesn’t have that feel to it as the elantra n does
Yep, i was going to purchase a mazda3 turbo but I left dealer before signing anything. Now if only dealers had Elantra N in their lots without waiting half a year to get one.
Wow! Hyundai has come a long way from the piece's of crap they produced back in the day. I remember my brother had a 2000 sonata and it broke down leaving the dealership (brand new)
you know it can only rev so high until you get diminishing returns.... 3rd gear just bouncing rev limiter holding it to the floor, I must have yelled shift 15 times .
3 things I hope for this year, all cool cars to be released soon, for COVID to slow down a lot, and for 0 school shootings.
Definitely on board with all of this.
Idk about that last one tho America has really bad gun control laws
Amen brother
Covid will be with us for a good few years, it won't disappear anytime soon, decrease then increase and repeat then lockdown repeat
Amen
Exactly what I've been waiting to see in an Elantra n video. The sound differences. Once you made the switch I was like this guy's the man.
;
This car doesn't sound good. You can say it has an interesting exhaust and fake pumped in sound, but the motor itself sounds rather dull like any other turbo 2.0
Man you gotta love Hyundai, even got the blinker sound right, so old school, you're not gonna end up driving for half a mile with your blinker on.
Props for not editing out the stall in the beginning

What does the stall mean? (I tried to Google translate it and didn’t work)

Lmao, same. My forte Gt is easy to disconnect but don’t wanna go to the hassle, the new Si’s sound kinda stupid and Over exaggerated

Nice video. The Elantra N is awesome!!
Manual transmission... YES!
actually pretty sweet. Will put huge pressure on the new Civic SI

I'd be more worried about the alcantara in the interior.
Just black out the red accents
