People forget how absurd this guy was in '01. Nebraska up until the last 2 games of the season was unbeatable and he choreographed the offense like Leonard Bernstein, Ed Reed even said he was beyond intimidating
@@achmeezhe was also a gamer. The star player in a victory over a talented 2001 OU Defense, 1999 Texas Defense, and had a great individual game against 2001 Colorado.
to be fair fran was a much better passer and more elusive; crouch was faster than fran, and don't get me wrong he had moves, but he loved the contact I mean he liked to run over people.
I loved Eric Crouch, he was one of my favorite athletes ever. But Jesus...he gets drafted in the PERFECT situation for any young receiver. Having Issac Bruce, Torry Holt, Ricky Prohel, Az Hakim to Learn from those great receives. That offense where all they did was throw. Bruce was on his way out, it couldn’t have been a better fit for him.
@@drew9970 I was a huge fan of his. Everytime I would Julian Edelman play I would think, this could have been crouch. Or even what Taysom Hill does with rushing and receiving and a bit of QB. He probably wouldn’t have returned kicks, Az Hakim I think had that on lock.
He was the only one of the only one of those old time Nebraska quarterbacks who could have played quarterback in the NFL. Hell he'd have to have been better than tebow
Hi Eric my name is Ricky tell frost I know a QB if there interested...btw Kapeenick country is ripe with talent tell frost to take a flyer. I got two nephew's who are monster athletes one DT 3 technique ones a power lifter and ones a undersized qb/wb/ath / I'm a baseball player otherwise I'd go walk on by the way Dan Patrick and Eric crouch are my heroes lol
Finally someone talking about the injuries and surgeries. Should ban football. Love watching it, but what is he gonna do when he is 50 and wants to ski with his kids or grandkids? Saw that stat on Brett Favre. Sacked 500 times. What if 10% of those were vicious hits? Ten years from now is he gonna be eating out of a tube?
Who do you think should of won Ken Dorsey?!?? On those absolutely loaded Miami teams. Rex Grossmen? Joey Harrington. The one person who maybe and I mean maybe should have won over Crouch would be Randle El. He played Kordell Stewart style
@@YardratZ no argument from me there bud! I love Miami but they he wasn’t even up for the heisman cuz they do linemen dirty like that. I hate Michigan but Jake Long should have been NOMINATED at least dude let up one sack his entire 4 year career at Michigan
Im glad i seen this ive been wanting answers since middle school

My all time favorite college player!
8 yrs after this video was posted and only 15,900 views. Obviously very few felt the same way as you.
@@robjohnson8861 no one watches the Dan Patrick show
Mine as well, loved watching that dude play!
Loved Eric Crouch......awesome option QB!!!
Hope he can mentor for Zac Lee or even O'brian to improve Husker Option skills as Coach Frost will teach.
Brugh was a beast. Eric Crouch, Scott Frost, and of course touchdown Tommy were my favorite Nebraska QBs.
The White Mike Vick
Don't insult Mike vick like that with this bum
Eric Crouch was a beast u might not think that by looking at him he was no joke with the football
He could’ve been a Julian Edelman
Nah. He was a crybaby and a whiner.
He refused to play wr

Crouch if i could do it again, quarterback only or no nfl.
Also crouch... coming out of nebraska I didnt even know how to read coverages.
???
I mean have you seen his highlights? Theres literally no passes lol its 99% runs
He was made to be an option QB, he came the right time.
His 95-yard run against Mizzou 👏
Fran Tarkington with the Vikings was doing all this with his legs and arm.

Imagine me , my fav team drafts my fav qb …. And the mf retires 💔

Eric crouch should never of won the heisman trophy
Why?

Just troll bs n u know it. Crouch was on another level in college in the option offense. The stats, accolades and highlights speak for themselves.
@@Duzz14 tbh. Bryant mckenie was the best player that year. Offensive tackle for the hurricanes

Quitter! By the way Bobby Newcombe was a 1000x better than Crouch real Husker fans know that’s true!
No way lol Eric was one of the best pure runners of all time in college
