- With travel restrictions eased and heard immunity on the cusp , people were out and about enjoying the sunshine at Brighton. Also alot of fishermen were out and about hoping to get a Plaice or two. We were amongst these anglers and although testing , we managed to get our hands on a Plaice.

Old rotten lug that has also been frozen is always my secret to flatties. Helps keep the pest fish off too.

i fished next to alan yates ,,england shore international angler , i found that he needed help with his casting skills ,,because he kept chucking his tackle over mine when casting , we had a good day though

Saw a bloke on UA-cam using luminous leads doing well (shaky angler I think) as added attraction.
Yeah they do work well, and i should defo get some. It just seems silly when i have a big bucket of leads to use 🤦♂️😂
@@gsp You can google how to do it yourself,project for the crap weather days using lumi-dip a coat hanger/heat gun & leads of choice if bored lol. Love the videos keep em coming.

Its free to fish and its free to fish almost any of the uk coast. The only places youd need to pay are on piers or privately owned jettys or promenades.
You can use spinners or lures at brighton but you really want to do it at dawn or dusk and around some structures, like near the harbour wall. Just make sure the lure/spinner is heavy enough to cast it 30 - 40yds.
If you're lucky you may get a bass, if the lure is small you may get mackerel and against the wall there may be pollack
Love the vid Bud. But I need help. Why does it bother me so much when I see beach casting vids with guys using fixed spools? I would say it bothers me about as much as if I saw a carp angler using multipliers . Genuine question as I know it's personal choice blah blah.
The other thing is when you listed all your kit the two things you failed to mention was snood line and hook type and size, the actual biz end, the bits that actually matter.
The hooks and snood lines are listed in the attached videos regarding the rig itself. I put the cards at the top when the rigs are mentioned. 👍
I do not know why you are so bothered by fixed spools. They are a more versatile reel than a multiplier and have more pros than cons. Also make using braided line alot easier. You cannot risk expensive braid on a multi when you could get a birdsnest and ruin it.

You're best bet is to head to your local tackle shop and get the advice from them. There are soo many rods on the market it's like a mine field. They will point you in the right direction 👍
