That was fun. 😆 I’ve given the weird side eye to the pourer of blind whiskies before. Like, “are ya suuuuuure that’s the whisky you poured in number 3…?” Always very interesting to do mystery whiskies.
I've struggled with GA 15 as well, but in my case in knew what it was, but then in sherried blind tastings had it come out near top. Could the position behind the cask strength sample have led to the watery note? Food, mood, placement in the brood. It all weighs! Fun stuff!
I wouldn't be shocked if Rachel named her progeny after Billy. It won't have birthdays, just age statements. My wife feels her pain anyway, I'm pretty sure she pushes me to other bottles in our collection so she can have the Glenallachie to herself. Any idea if that's the new or old bottling of Arran 18? Our old bottling tastes like orange marmalade but is more bitter if it's the slightest bit cold. Also taken a strange journey with Glentauchers. Tried a 31 year blackadder bottling, then a 22 signatory vintage. Lots of grapefruit and citrus on both. I'm pretty sure the Blackadder Red Snake #111 we just bought is a Glentauchers, too, but can't be certain. The most intense scotch I've tried to date. Get your hands on a Blackadder raw cask bottling, they are quite unique.
GenAllachie, pish???? Blasphemy against the almighty Billy. Rachel will be banished to wandering through the gin wasteland for 40 years. Not even allowed to buy a bottom shelf whisky at the Coop.
D'you know how sour stuff makes my eyelids sweat? That's making my eyelids sweat.
Greatest tasting note ever.
😂
Dear Rachel,
You have brought shame upon us all.

Read this video title as "Grandma's Blind Drams" -- it's early. But I now also want that video.
😂🤣😂🤣😂
Fantastic work you two! 🙂Just proves that our brains are not developed to smell and taste whiskies! 🙂But whiskies are good anyway! 🙂Great fun!
Exactly! Good to remind ourselves of this from time to time!
Being seldom wrong is how I see myself, irrespective of what others tell me! I think ‘Positivity’ would be a great resolution for the New Year.
😂 I think we are all a bit guilty of this!
Well being wrong on the odd occasion is good because it serves to remind me of how often I’m right!!😮

I really does depend on a lot of factors!

Thanks! Will do! More on the way soon!

We don't have the info on the exact bottling but we suspect its the new one.
Those Glentauchers sound great!
Very interesting! I love to taste blind. A lot to learn and it is always a "disgrace" in a very funny way. 😁
So true but definitely a great thing to do!

I know! Totally dodged that! 😆
Rachel, when you said the 3rd dram was "foreign",I take it you meant it was from "overseas" ie Arran!
