Went to see Lita Ford when she opened for Ted Nugent. I was wearing a Lita shirt. I was the only one in the area of the seats, in a smaller venue. Lita came on stage, and waved in my direction. I freaked out, looking around for who she was waving at. Then I realized it was ME. She even acknowledged me over the mic. I practically died right there. The seats slowly filled up, so there were more people around when she said something, and they were looking at me (Practically dressed to look just like her) like "who the he** are you?" Oh, the fond memories of teen years.
We must be close in age because I was a teen when close my eyes forever was released (1988) so I'm sure you can relate when I say those were the best times ever! That was when if you had something to say to someone you'd have to do it face to face instead trash talking on FB in the comfort of your own home, lol.
1985 Peoria Illinois Motley Crue was headlining and I forgot who was supposed to open, maybe Ratt , but last minute (day of concert) it was announced Lita Ford would be starting. I was 15 and had every page from Circus magazine on my wall. Lita was my girl ... crue were my guys $12.50 ticket price/ second row stage left
Did not come across her until '84, too young to remember the Runaways, bought Kiss me Deadly and Close my eyes Forever and several albums. Does not surprise me about Ozzy, surprised he is still alive and kicking considering his habits over the years.
Some friends and I were at the lake and drinking (under age) and a friend jumped into the lake and never resurfaced. His body was found 3 days later. His Mom let us friends get together and choose one song to play at his funeral and we choose "Close My Eyes Forever." He loved the song (we all did) and of course it related to death so that's why we chose it. :(
Music isn't male or female. Only the sound of the Artist's vocal can be that. Music is everyone. Everything. Everywhere. Individualized by Hearts & minds. Felt by the world. Whether it's anger Or love. It's just there. And for us all to grasp upon. Or relate to. It's important for a humans soul. She merely squeezed in with the rest of em. As an Artist. A Musician. A legend. She will live forever now. Bless her heart.
I didn't understand how she thought the 3-piece band would convince everyone she was the one playing because I bet there were people who thought someone backstage was playing guitar and it wasn't really her if they were convinced she couldn't play to begin with.

The woman is definitely not a mensa member. AND MY PERSONAL FAVORITE - FAMILY ALWAYS COMES FIRST! Ms. Ford left her husband and sons to "resume" her career. One of the few songs she did have a hand in writing, was supposedly for her sons to tell them how much she loves them, but included lines wishing death upon their father! ( who she blames for her bad relationship with her sons, who have told her she needs help and refuse to see her until she gets it. ) Best part of her "poor me, boo-hoo" story? She claims the husband turned them against her when she decided to leave after a deal to do a reality show of the family fell through - so, basically, she claims he turned her own sons against her IN ONE WEEKEND!
