At last an interesting design and Renault have pulled the stops out this time. I had an original Twingo and that was a really brilliant little car particularly in the city. Hope they deliver on the price, produce a right hand version and they give it a reasonable range as well, cos it looks great.
I love the design, just funky and nice. I would buy it for my mother that's on pension that would replace here old VW Polo 1.2 perfectly. I'm going for the R5 - Iconic in 2026 myself. Becoming a mega fan of Renault EV's since I had the Megane -E-Tech 60Kw Iconic as company car that I love so much. great work Renault and design team. Now please give these perfect EV's better solid state batteries and 100% uptime of the Renault network that's the only negative I have on them.
@@NevoEVReviewIreland I left the company so had to leave the Renault Megane E-Tech behind also but I was so in love with it I went for a test drive with the R5 E-Tech 52Kw and it's just as nice but I'll miss the 22Kw slow charging that the R5 does not have what the Megane had but the R5 can give power back to grid or with adapter to any appliance so also fun when you need to vacuum clean your EV.
I absolutely loved the original twingo that i first saw in Paris many years ago and i am very pleased that Renault has gone with that car for their inspiration. The problem i have with all small cars is that just because they are amall, does not mean that will be second or run abouts. Sometimes they are an only if small car, so battery range is always a disappointment. Needs a 60kwh (min) battery and if it gets that it will sell in huge numbers.
@NevoEVReviewIreland it needs the bigger Zoe battery at least. But time will tell. Renault are killing the design at the moment. And using their heritage names wisely too.
20 year old me would love this...53 year old me wishes I was 20 again so I could snap it up 😂 definitely aimed at the younger market but absolutely well done yet again Renault. I really think they are starting to lead the way on affordable EV motoring
While I love the exterior without any restrictions, I think the interior with all its bling-bling is far too overloaded. Less is more - I thought that was much better in my original Twingo in the nineties.
I saw a UK report on this wonderful little beastie. They loved it and then said at the end …”Sadly, Renault have stated they will not be bringing the Twingo to the UK market.” Maybe because of the necessary conversion to right hand drive was the thought. I really hope it makes it here to Ireland.🤞 I’m 67 now and would buy one in an instant. Great fun.
Was there a point in time where, the customer asked for chopped up beer crates, wellington boots and disposable knives and forks to make their new car?!!!
