The only problem with your videos is that I add more and more places to my bucket list! Maybe a video on how to choose where to go, like "prioritize the must travel places" would be nice. Love this
Cave stream was one of the most scary but fun experiences I had in NZ! Would recommend to everyone, though you must check the rain fall on the other side of the island because it causes the water level in the cave to rise.
Gosh, I can't even express how badly I needed this video tonight. It's been a really tough day but this put a smile on my face. Thank you for your inspiring video content :)
If you end up passing through Hamilton on your way South from Auckland I would recommend checking out the Hamilton Gardens. It's always been rated as one of the best man-made gardens in the world. Was voted #1 in 2014. There's nothing really else in Hamilton but it's a great central hub to stay if you want to visit the likes of Rotorua, Raglan, Waitomo etc. And I know this because I live in Hamilton.
I enjoyed your video, new subscriber today. As a Fiordland local, I would recommend staying in Te Anau (or nextdoor Manapouri), and doing your Milford Sound trip from there. The drive from Queenstown to Milford Sound is unnecessarily long and tiring, whereas a day trip starting from Te Anau (or Manapouri) is way shorter and so much more enjoyable.
Brilliant Thankyou! At the very earliest stages of planning for a trip next autumn and I love the advice of doing a part well and accepting that you can go back for the rest another time, rather than frantically trying to fit it all in 🤯🤯😝
Haha I live on Waiheke, I'd definitely recommend visiting, since a lot of the natural environment is still the same as it was a few hundred years ago! The culture is so rich, and the marae (Piritahi Marae) is one of the most sophisticated in the world. There's something for everyone here, so don't count it out!
Great quick highlights video, thank you. Your Hot Spot list was handy to compare to where we already have on our list - I added a couple more. We're visiting the South Island later this year so I will check out your other ones too.
new zealand looks incredible! X I have never been outside of europe and i have some family friends in new zealand, may give a trip ago one day! Thankyou for the lovely video! xx
NZ is more than the recommended tourist spots that you have mentioned, like any other country getting away from the so called spots will give you a feel for my country
Born and bred in Rotorua NZ, we thrive on customer service due to our culture, you not mentioned once the main reason as to why tourist come to Rotorua, it is for the cultural feeling of New Zealands, Maori Kapa Haka, Hangi and Concerts, Whakarewarewa Institute, aka Te Puia, Waimangu Geysers and more.
Thanks for this, very useful as I’m holidaying in NZ this March. I can see I’m only going to have time to do (part of) North Island so will just have to book another trip for South Island. Cheers
Christchurch- “Other than that I recommend keeping your stay to a minimum, unless you need to be there for some other reason” 😂 like being one of those unfortunate souls that have to live there 👍 BTW there is this really beautiful spot in Mt Aspiring called the Blue Pools that I have recently discovered and am planning a road trip to go and enjoy, it looks amazing and otherworldly 😊
Hopefully, coronavirus permitting I will be starting 6 months of travelling on my gap year in January. I’m hoping to spend 2 months in Australia, 2 months in New Zealand and then a volunteering opportunity in Fiji and your videos are making me so so so excited!!!
I can't not say anything 😂 she basically said Christchurch don't bother! There are some great spots to visit, late spring through early autumn best times to visit. Start by parking at the botanic gardens for a lovely walk into the central city, explore post quake development. .still under development. Wander along the river and enjoy some great local cafes. Rollickin Gelato has excellent ice cream. Or head to Utopia ice in the seaside suburb of Sumner, walk along the beach or drive over the hill to Taylors Mistake for the views and a walk.. tip avoid busy summer weekends. Lytle ton Harbour is worth a visit for the views and cafes such as Glamour cakes gourmet donuts. Continue around to Corsair Bay for a gorgeous walk and swim.. again avoid weekends over summer to avoid crowds. Continue driving around Goveners Bay to Allendale Reserve for an easy picturesque walk along the coastline. And of course popular with locals and tourists Akaroa Harbour and Hanmer Springs. There and back within a day or stay overnight they are both worth a visit. Just avoid weekends or go in off season if you don't like bustling tourist villages. And that's just a start 😆
Don't bother with Queenstown or Wanaka unless you're keen on skiing or tramping for 5-day trips out of town. It's an unspectacular overpriced shopping mall. The Port Hills above Christchurch are a good route through to Banks Peninsula where there's plenty of pretty coastline and some walks.
Very good video with lot of awesome information about New Zealand!!! I’m lucky b/c my wife is from New Zealand and we go there once a year so far...thanks for sharing
"En ga wa Springs!" I know you apologised beforehand but I really expected at least a half-arsed attempt at "Na far." :-D As for the rest - next time I suggest the coastline north of Whangarei and the East Coast around Ruatoria, Tikitiki where the locals are warm, hospitable and real.
Never forget to set aside a day visiting the live White Island Volcano in the town of Whakatane. Those who want to have close contact with the Maori culture can opt for the city of Rotorua. One hours drive south of Rotorua lies Taupo. With a beautiful lake, thermal volcanic areas, and a fantastic view of the Alps this area has the beauty that impresses. Spend a day at the Tongariro National Park or at the sky fields. Having a gorgeous bay is the capital city of New Zealand - Wellington. It is the second biggest city with top-level restaurants.
Came across this online but a waterfall near gisboure can body board down looks AMA zing on an unprouncable whakarehene or something river really steep
I loved this. Especially since I have visited many of the places you have mentioned. I have relatives that live in mount manganui. It is such a lovely place. I am lucky enough to have been there twice so visited lots of the surrounding area which was just stunning. But have traveled round the South Island as well. I have to agree with you I loved Kiakora. Abel Tasman was stunning. I also really like lake tekapu. (You never mentioned it.) I have visited most of the places you mentioned around queens town. Arrowtown was a nice wee place. We stopped there for an hour or so! So many stunning places to visit!
what was the name of the web site you mentioned for plan planning your trip? I couldn't quite understand how you were pronouncing it and I do not see a link in your description. thanks!!!
Great video. What part of the year has the best weather lol? Been in Oz for two years on WHV, looking for another two years of sunshine but doesn’t seem very sunny in NZ!
5:57 no way! You are missing out Christchurch's most beautiful scenery up from the port hills! That's the most breathtaking view you can get among 4 NZ cities.
You've got to go to Stewart Island. It's amazing! We even saw a Kiwi in it's natural habitat, swam at three bays, enjoyed the laid back and relaxing environment. Caught a ferry to Ulva Island and loved the bird life and scenery. Loved your overview of NZ. I agree, Fiordland is amazing. Did the overnight stay in Doubtful Sound. Definitely a bucket list item.
hi..that was a good Vlog. I am from India and would love to visit NZ for 15 days trip. I am planning to do a road trip in both north and south islands. Can you please suggest me if it is good to visit NZ in months of April or May.?
Yep, if camping it's necessary to have a big backpack in order to fit the tent and sleeping bag! I don't think mine was over 15KG though. It's fine as long as you have a backpack that supports the weight on your hips :)
This has come just in time! Planning my trip to NZ in September. I want to go in a working holiday but I’m really struggling to find a good backpack (particularly one that doesn’t just open at the top) do you have any recommendations?
Hannah M Me too! Just got my passport and also looking at backpacks. Going to NZ in September for one full year on a working holiday visa! So excited :D I wish you all the best on your trip! :)
New Zealand was probably our favorite place we’ve travelled too. Unfortunately it was before we started travel vlogging, so no videos of this beautiful country yet. But I do have a picture of mount cook over the river that looks like a screenshot from your video clip! Haha. We’ve been traveling all around the UK for the past month and leave for Iceland in a couple more days. Travel vlogging has been a lot of fun and we can’t wait to see more of this beautiful planet we call home :) Check out our channel if you like fun travel vlogs!
Auckland sux....I live there now lol, but you have to get out of Auckland to experience the real NZ & it’s natural beauty....(you won’t find it at the sky-tower), no other place like it in the world & ive travelled everywhere.....it does rain a lot but that rain is what makes that place as green as it is, and summer is decievingly hot......without the climate it has it would be a dessert.....so I’ve learnt not to complain about the rain anymore cause without it we wouldn’t have those picturesque views.....
She looks like that chick who plays the best friend on the princess diaries😂😂😂- N-Gawa Springs🤦🏾♀️ - Man we need to hang out so I can help you on your pronounciation!
Wow, this video was so packed with information, very well done. But you speak soooo fast, that i had to pause at every spot, to write down all the names you mentioned. Next time a little bit slower please.
The only problem with your videos is that I add more and more places to my bucket list! Maybe a video on how to choose where to go, like "prioritize the must travel places" would be nice. Love this
That’s a great idea!
Cave stream was one of the most scary but fun experiences I had in NZ! Would recommend to everyone, though you must check the rain fall on the other side of the island because it causes the water level in the cave to rise.
Wellington is quite possibly the most beautiful city I've ever visited!! NZ is soooo gorgeous 😍😍
Gosh, I can't even express how badly I needed this video tonight. It's been a really tough day but this put a smile on my face. Thank you for your inspiring video content :)

Great video thank you! Im taking my mom there in about a week for her first ever vacation and I am so excited!!!
Awesome! You guys will love it 😍
A great promo for NZ!!! I live in Auckland so I think it’s pretty good😃 Thanks for visiting us👍👍👍
Brilliant Thankyou! At the very earliest stages of planning for a trip next autumn and I love the advice of doing a part well and accepting that you can go back for the rest another time, rather than frantically trying to fit it all in 🤯🤯😝

Wow this video makes me realise how much I missed during the 5 weeks I spent in the North Island. Must go back! 💙
Key Summit Track is an amazing day hike near Milford Sound. Only takes about 3 hours, and the view from the top is fantastic.
Oohh I’ve never done that one 😁
i’ve been in new zealand a little over a month and have really been needing inspiration. ty ty 💗
Wow, great job at keeping that quick, to the point but so packed with information. Thanks for sharing!
Great quick highlights video, thank you. Your Hot Spot list was handy to compare to where we already have on our list - I added a couple more. We're visiting the South Island later this year so I will check out your other ones too.

Thanks! Thats a good tip :)
NZ is more than the recommended tourist spots that you have mentioned, like any other country getting away from the so called spots will give you a feel for my country
Crazy useful video! Thanks for keeping advice grounded with the footage from each location!
Been wanting to go there since i was a little kid! Someday maybe!
Thanks for this, very useful as I’m holidaying in NZ this March. I can see I’m only going to have time to do (part of) North Island so will just have to book another trip for South Island. Cheers

Ahh this makes me realise how little of NZ I saw when I did the Kiwi Bus and is giving me all kinds of Wanderlust 😍😍
But the Kiwi bus is such a great start though 😃😃
I loved this. Especially since I have visited many of the places you have mentioned. I have relatives that live in mount manganui. It is such a lovely place. Queenstown and Milford Sound are my dream destinations...Also, diggin' that globe in the background. You use it to plan trips?
Thanks!! It’s my new globe 🤩 haha
Was there in January and it was blooming marvellous. Sooo much to see and do and the scenery is breathtaking. Highly recommended. 😎
What was the name of the website for route planning that you recommended?
Great video!
Hello, can anyone give the link she said for planning the hot stops you fancy?? Thanks!!
What kind of budget would you recommend for a trip like this?
what was the name of the web site you mentioned for plan planning your trip? I couldn't quite understand how you were pronouncing it and I do not see a link in your description. thanks!!!
That’s true been 3 times and would love to go again .......
🙈🙈😁
Where is that picture that I clicked on. thumbprint pic idk i clicked on the shot due to how pretty it looked though didnt notice it in your video?
That was taken at Bob's Cove near Queenstown 😊
@@BackpackingBananas thx ^_^ !!
Great video. What part of the year has the best weather lol? Been in Oz for two years on WHV, looking for another two years of sunshine but doesn’t seem very sunny in NZ!
Summer months! So between November-March it's fairly warm 😊
What about Stewart island? It’s the most beautiful place in NZ.
5:57 no way! You are missing out Christchurch's most beautiful scenery up from the port hills! That's the most breathtaking view you can get among 4 NZ cities.
Hi.. can you please suggest some cheap car rental services for road trip in NZ?
People are always a bit down on Auckland but it was my main base for 2 years and my favourite nz city.q
Really good video.. 👍
can you show me the route you have said in the video ? And how can a car pass from North to south ?
I believe I cover the whole route in this ua-cam.com/video/jFASLi1foO0/v-deo.html video. And you can get a ferry between the islands :)
I want to do all of them
what was your budget on this trip?
hi..that was a good Vlog. I am from India and would love to visit NZ for 15 days trip. I am planning to do a road trip in both north and south islands. Can you please suggest me if it is good to visit NZ in months of April or May.?
Beautiful video..!!! THANKS...^^
would you recommend doing the north or South Island road trip if we only have about 12 days?
I'd probably do North (fly in and out of Auckland and Wellington if poss)
You hiked with your big backpack? How heavy was it? I want to do this, but I think it is very uncomfy
Yep, if camping it's necessary to have a big backpack in order to fit the tent and sleeping bag! I don't think mine was over 15KG though. It's fine as long as you have a backpack that supports the weight on your hips :)
You are making me want to go back again, lol. I've only seen about half those places.
And you’ll go back at some point 😁
You forgot hokitika gorge😀
One of my fav.

Hannah M check out the osprey porter 46! Definitely the best. UA-cam all the reviews.
Hannah M Me too! Just got my passport and also looking at backpacks. Going to NZ in September for one full year on a working holiday visa! So excited :D
