I think that the toxic space liquid is actually the poison that appears in most jungle levels and that we will be able to choose which liquid appears in which levels
When on the enemy wheel you can see under the bar that says “Enemies” there are 4 dots, indicating 4 enemy wheels. And maybe the ship controls the water, as you can see it rising and falling.

I really hope that Toad, Toadette, and Luigi not only mean multiplayer, but also different single player characters, so you can make a level where you need Luigi's high jump, or Toadette's fast swim, and whatever Blue and Yellow Toad have
Love the nod at 5:58. Also, something that's probably already been said in the comments but still worth noting, is that you didn't notice the 4 dots below the Enemies title at around 4:34, meaning there are exactly 4 enemy wheels. Great work pointing out all of the other things though! Plenty I didn't notice.
I was thinking the same thing! I assuming that since the icon next to it was to see where Mario moves in the test mode, the other button was to see what multiplayer mode is like in test mode.
I thought the same, that really looks like "Mario & Luigi" in icon form. To be honest, I am not convinced we get up to 4 players, it might be only 2. Either way, I think it's fantastic.
at 3:31, there are 4 dots under the word “enemies” which probably means there are 4 pages of enemies. However, at 12:44 there are only 3 dots, which probably confirms that there are enemies exclusive to certain game themes.
I've already watched the trailer over 60 times and watched every anaylsis video. So your gonna see me calling out the stuff u missed. so you ready? lets do this!
The Unknown this just further supports my theory that smm and smm2 is just Mario (bros.) playing with toy (kinda like how smb is just a little kid playing with toys 🧸 🧒)
There's been so many "Oh this button is here but who knows what it's for!" for things like the autoscroller control. Meanwhile Ceave is over here like "Hey, guys, I did some digging and the camera is kinder at the top of the screen". This is the kind of crazy attention to detail I'm here for.
Questions that I am pondering: Do we have to unlock everything like we did in MM1? Is shaking stuff still going to be a thing? (I think not since there was a little drop down menu on the piranha plant during the 3D world part). Do all the themes work with each game style? Can you toggle day/night for each theme? (the SMW ghost house background is significantly more blueish and eerie than in MM1, which could just be a normal change but who knows?) Can you choose what liquid you want in a level? I say this because the purple poison stuff that is shown looks a lot like the poison usually used in jungle levels? Can you choose what level you want a liquid such as water or poison to be? Or only water? Or can it only be half way or just along the bottom? How do you make it rise and how much so, as well as can it be done with all liquids? Can it only be done in certain themes? Everything Ceave asked about slopes. Can we make more things more biggerer? Like bowser having 2 mushroom upgrades? How will docked editing work? What about undocked? Will you need switch online to play/upload courses? Amiibo stuff? Costumes?
Seeing as they added in ghost house and airship themes for games that didn’t have said themes in the original, I can see them making things like desert backgrounds for SMB1 and SMW in this game. Multiverse did a really good job with making desert themes for those two games, so Nintendo should be able to as well.
@@wizard_chicken1446 Hard to say, since it depends on how they implement it. But if it's required, expect the game to come with a free X-month subscription.
z beeblebrox it won’t come with a free subscription guaranteed. Some games don’t even start without the respective membership (eg overmatch and Xbox live gold) so I doubt Nintendo are going to giving away memberships any time soon
@@musicalbrit3465 But those are 3rd party games. IF Nintendo sees this as a chance to get people on board with switch online (although I think Tetris 99 already did that), then they'd have the power to do that. Some rando online-only game won't.
N Fus and an artbook. And maybe it has all of the content in the current artbook and more! And maybe in the smm2 software it should have a custom manual like the original smm with support for old and new artbook codes.
It won't be. The whole point of the switch is that you can completely ignore the handheld aspect if you don't like it (Vice versa for the docked aspect of course.) and still have the exact same experience. Including a stylus would break this rule.
You forgot one thing. If you go to the mario maker 2 trailer, go to 1:15, go to 0.25 speed, and look in the very top left corner. You will see a purple brick. Hmmm.. wonder what this could be :)
1. For there not being a stylus, maybe they could take the advice I saw in a video (I think ScottTheWoz made it): just put a free Switch compatible stylus in the box. 2. For the multiplayer concerns, they can take a page out of LittleBigPlanet's book: LBP3 (and maybe 2) had a setting to limit the minimum and maximum player count for the level. 3. Another LBP thing they can implement: a grid snap for placing blocks and entities using the stick on a pro controller. In LBP I made plenty of elaborate levels with a Dualshock controller and never wanted a stylus or pointer controls thanks to the grid snap option. They included options to use the right stick in place mode to change the size of the materials or entities placed which made designing larger levels using grid controls faster.
3:10 the red and green guy, I think it’s an option that lets you switch between mario and Luigi. A little more proof, the picture for the game has mario holding a cat Luigi. It also has a builder Luigi
The one thing I’m kind of worried about is if some assets are style-specific... i want to be able to launch fireballs through a clear pipe to hit an angry sun!!
I'm super hyped for this game! I agree with most of your observations except for the "circular menu means motion controls" part: when I saw the selection wheel, my first thought was "oh, it's a radial menu" (as seen in Mass Effect, Far Cry, Doom (2016), Assassin's Creed, Red Dead Redemption, Bioshock, and every other triple-A action game released in the last decade): you push the analog stick in the direction of what you want and there you go. Also, judging by how the other selection wheels are placed, I imagine that you can "spin" to them with L and R (also just like in Far Cry, Red Dead Redemption, et cetera).
Yeah, saying a radial menu on a console with "Joystick Controllers" is for motion controls was... amusing. I would imagine the standard radial menus work in the standard way :p
@@neilfromtwt4733 well, if you were playing handheld, you could use the touchscreen :P but in either situation, yes, radial is superior to either motion letting go of one control to touch the screen, unless you're already working via touch, in which case, a radial menu is perfectly functional for touch, as well.
If the windy cloudy level thing isn’t a vertical level, I think the screen would have scrolled when mario moved to the side. The same goes for the red-pipe level. So I think vertical levels are in SMM2
Unless they were already at the edge of the level and Nintendo was using some trickery to make them seem like vertical levels. But yes, I'd think it's more likely that vertical levels and possible higher vertical limits are in.
It's actually surprisingly simple. First, you must steal the device used for Aperture Science's Perpetual Testing Initiative, and go to an alternate universe and play one of your alternate self's courses.

I really hope that Toad, Toadette, and Luigi not only mean multiplayer, but also different single player characters, so you can make a level where you need Luigi's high jump, or Toadette's fast swim, and whatever Blue and Yellow Toad have
They have speed but correct me if I’m wrong but they jump slower to compensate
PuppyMonkeyBaby they jump the lowest, as well as falling faster than the others.
And peach floating
Blue and Yellow Toad's ugliness
that's not a thing
Love the nod at 5:58. Also, something that's probably already been said in the comments but still worth noting, is that you didn't notice the 4 dots below the Enemies title at around 4:34, meaning there are exactly 4 enemy wheels. Great work pointing out all of the other things though! Plenty I didn't notice.
But only 3 enemy wheels in 3D World, interestingly
@@oliverpx yep, so it seems that different themes have different enemies, assuming some overlap.
The green and red thing on the bottom left could signify 2 player mode with mario and luigi, even the colors match up!
I was thinking the same thing! I assuming that since the icon next to it was to see where Mario moves in the test mode, the other button was to see what multiplayer mode is like in test mode.
Of course it could just be "switch between Mario and Luigi"
Hope that Luigi controls like he did in Super Mario 3D World. Same for the other characters.
it does mean multiplayer

I thought the same, that really looks like "Mario & Luigi" in icon form. To be honest, I am not convinced we get up to 4 players, it might be only 2. Either way, I think it's fantastic.
@@QuantumConundrum 2 players with options of 4 different main skins perhaps? Cause it's mario maker 2 so it makes sense for 2 players.

at 3:31, there are 4 dots under the word “enemies” which probably means there are 4 pages of enemies. However, at 12:44 there are only 3 dots, which probably confirms that there are enemies exclusive to certain game themes.
Nintendo: What new things for Mario maker 2 should put in?

I've already watched the trailer over 60 times and watched every anaylsis video. So your gonna see me calling out the stuff u missed. so you ready? lets do this!
Jbad11 42 Exactly
Super Mario Maker 2, Mario finally let Luigi play with his toys.
The Unknown this just further supports my theory that smm and smm2 is just Mario (bros.) playing with toy (kinda like how smb is just a little kid playing with toys 🧸 🧒)

I have seen many analysis videos, this is the best one *by far!*
Exactly!
There's been so many "Oh this button is here but who knows what it's for!" for things like the autoscroller control. Meanwhile Ceave is over here like "Hey, guys, I did some digging and the camera is kinder at the top of the screen". This is the kind of crazy attention to detail I'm here for.
Questions that I am pondering:
Do we have to unlock everything like we did in MM1?
Is shaking stuff still going to be a thing? (I think not since there was a little drop down menu on the piranha plant during the 3D world part).
Do all the themes work with each game style?
Can you toggle day/night for each theme? (the SMW ghost house background is significantly more blueish and eerie than in MM1, which could just be a normal change but who knows?)
Can you choose what liquid you want in a level?
Costumes?
I really hope we don't need the switch online to play uploaded levels
3:10
I'm guessing that allows a level to be multiplayer or not.
I thought the exact same thing! 😉

TV mode?
N Fus and an artbook. And maybe it has all of the content in the current artbook and more! And maybe in the smm2 software it should have a custom manual like the original smm with support for old and new artbook codes.
It won't be. The whole point of the switch is that you can completely ignore the handheld aspect if you don't like it (Vice versa for the docked aspect of course.) and still have the exact same experience. Including a stylus would break this rule.
N Fus rip digital buyers
You forgot one thing. If you go to the mario maker 2 trailer, go to 1:15, go to 0.25 speed, and look in the very top left corner. You will see a purple brick.

Technically Mario Maker already uses a grid snap system to begin with, but yes.
1- And those who buy the digital edition don't get a stylus?
@@guardian_de_la_verdad They will probably sell a stylus seperately or you could just buy a third party one.

Ikr
You can put mario through hell... On the go!
@@TRADEMARKLLC ugh. Using my shoulders and elbows to play a game? Only in VR, slothing on the couch requires the fewest muscles used, possible ;)
i would prefer radial because what if you were playing handheld?
@@neilfromtwt4733 well, if you were playing handheld, you could use the touchscreen :P but in either situation, yes, radial is superior to either motion letting go of one control to touch the screen, unless you're already working via touch, in which case, a radial menu is perfectly functional for touch, as well.
This was mind blowing!
