Canon C100 mark ii how to make it CINEMATIC with street Low Light

Hello, In this video I'm showing how its possible to make cinematic shots just with Street Lights.
I share tips and tricks that will make your footage look cinematic without an expensive lens or camera. in this video I only shot all the footage with Canon C100 mark 2 with Sigma 18-35 and Canon 50mm lens.

You are absolutely surgical with the C100 MKII. Thank you for sharing this as I have struggled with my C100 MKII in lower light. I’m usually trying to add illumination with my soft light boxes but I can’t carry them everywhere. I’m going to practice your technique and become proficient with lowlight environments. I own some decent f/1.4, f/1.8 and f/2.8 lenses. You are so right about the native ISO. You just don’t want to move off of it too far is at all. You can get noisy fast with this camera if you get the trinity out of wack.

I'm a member of the C100 M2 cult and your work is excellent - your technical and practical knowledge is great and you really produce some amazing stuff with this ancient camera with a poor codec. What impresses me is even though you're not pushing the ISO, the weak codec of the C100 M2 often shows noise and pixelation in the shadows unless you are very careful with exposure and editing as you point out. The C100 M2 still can produce some great footage, but the codec is unforgiving and demands you expose properly.

Thanks for the compliments🙏🏾, True this camera is amazing but it has limitations also, as you mention I don't like to relay on ISO most of my shoot I guess it goes with my limitation of my skills to remove noise in post😁

Does shooting externally help? The camera sends a 8bit 422 over HDMI

@@shueibdahir Yes they say with an external recorder you can get 10b pores, I never tried though!

@@AfricanFilmmaker this camera is only capable of 8bit even over hdmi but the chroma subsampling is 4:2:2 instead.
Still i'd take 8bit 422 at 117mbps instead of 8bit 420 at 24mbps.

I like it. Fantastic. I did a similar thing on my M2 called "London Christmas Lights 2016" on my UA-cam channel. Hope you still got the camera. I'm still using it to this day. It has a clean and uncluttered image that I've not been able to create on any newer cameras costing four times as much!

Thanks for watching! The set up was very simple, camera on tripod and I set the level to my hight. Lens was se to Autofocus.To get smooth focus you should try to move very slow and ensure you have some light on your face.
