Yes - always have a UV or Skylight filter on. Sigma makes some great glass. The 18-35 f1.8 is nice lens for the super 35 sensor - I own one.

Did you take the plunge and upgrade brother? Fine camera - I use one of these at my work, but I've stayed foolishly loyal to canon with my personal C70.

I'm also a c100 mk ii owner...Makes me happy to still see people using it for narrative filmmaking !! Can't wait to see it

I like it. Fantastic. I did a similar thing on my M2 called "London Christmas Lights 2016" on my UA-cam channel. Hope you still got the camera. I'm still using it to this day. It has a clean and uncluttered image that I've not been able to create on any newer cameras costing four times as much!

I started using a Canon EOS 750D, which was terrific, even with the cheap Canon 50mm lens. If the C100mkII is better, I'll be blown away.

Thanks for the videos and tips you upload, Im learning a lot from your work. I aspire to do short films myself. having both C100 ii and DJI RS 2 pro. I must say the combination is very heavy.

It kinda makes sense they dropped the NDs because if that would have made it 1k more, they'd be competing with cameras that have better codecs, global shutter & autofocus. Their selling point has aways been affordability. It honestly doesn't seem that expensive to rig - 300 sdi monitor, 60 sideplate, 100 battery, 200 adapter with Drop-In filter. C70 is a better camera in every way lol, but if saving a couple thousand allows for budget for set design, lighting, talent, lens rental, etc. then I would definitely go that route.

No dilemma. It is a pocket 6k in a box. No better or worse.

They dropped the ND filter when the moved from EF mount to L mount because the flange distance is much less with L mount leaving less room for ND filters. Now they do make an EF box model but it probably was not economical to engineer ND filters just for this model since the might have had to modify the body as well.

Enjoying your content. Great video. I’m using the bmpcc6k G2 at the moment. Not sure if I will update to the Pyxsis or not, but it is an amazing camera either way. I also only make movies. I have no interest in filming weddings or corporate videos.

I was looking forward to the Pyxis, but by the time you configure the thing it's competing with the C70 and FX6. Not to mention it's VERY Blackmagic ... no ND, only 1 XLR (I know it's made for filmmakers, but still) can't move the monitor, etc, etc.

I have a Canon M50 and am only ready to think intensively about professional film projects with a Canon C100. No R5, no C70, but perhaps I would prefer a BlackMagic Camera PYXIS 6K. Rather not. I like the C cameras, except for the C70. C70 footage reminds me of DJI footage. It looks cinematic, has great dynamics and appears filmic enough, but it doesn't have the contrasts of the Cinema Line from the C100 onwards, it doesn't have the intense colors, it doesn't have the plasticity.
