True, we declared independence in 1776. But we first confronted the Brits, violently, in 1775 on April the 19th with the Battles of Lexington and Concord. Although the Colonists had confronted Great Britain, politically, many times before.

All that I was saying is we (the colonies soon to be the U.S.) defended ourselves from Great Britain's tyranny. It is not really a technicality.
In 1775 the colonies started to violently resist British rule thus starting the American Revolutionary War; in 1776 the Second Continental Congress speaking for the colonies wrote the Declaration of Independence, putting the colonies in full-out rebellion; and in 1783 the U.S. won Independence from Great Britain by winning the American Revolutionary War, and the signing of the Treaty of Paris. Although I recognize 1776 as the birth year of the U.S. as do most other Americans.

There was a road that ran behind it. The compounds created dead space and the taliban used it to place IEDS. we had to demolish the compounds to allow safe travel of supplies and troops with minimal risk.

I do understand that it was wired to blow up and harm anyone who made an attempt to storm the place. However I do know at one point in time this was a home to many indecent ppl who once lived in these homes and any attempt for the innocent ppl to go home is now just a memory.. Glad to see this get blown away but sad for the innocent families who uprooted to move to a safe green zone.. Still cool to see shit blow up:)

If the compound were cleared, why bomb them? Would it not be cheaper to manually stick some C4 on them instead of sending expensive bombing runs and JDAM?
