Ah!! I immediately recognized where you’re skating! (Though I checked the comments first to see if you’d mentioned it bc I didn’t want to point out your location unnecessarily if it might be creepy, and luckily I saw you mentioned Manhattan Beach already). I was there just last month and it’s suuuch a lovely boardwalk. So many fun ppl walking, jogging, biking, skating, and tons of surfers, volleyball players, and dog walkers! This video makes me nostalgic and want to go back!
@@chanceflores1786 Sure! I was skating on a quite flat sidewalk. I started slowing down to turn around, which made me more vulnerable to small obstacles. My wheels got slightly stuck on a crack or a twig and stopped cooperating ( kinda stopped and stopped moving in the correct direction ). I started wobbling and fell back. To avoid hitting my head, I tried to save myself by falling on an arm ( had full armor, so my wrist was unharmed but the impact went up to the forearm ). So I fell down, hand 90° on the ground & heard a crack. I recommend practicing falls on grass to learn to properly land!
I suck at skating but it’s so fun so I keep trying! My boyfriend rollerblades and he’s pretty good at it so it’s something fun we can do together. Wear your safety gear!!!
Thanks for the tip babe, but I feel strong that I'll be more into roller blading again instead of skating. I know it takes time but I'm getting very frustrated. I love these Converse skates from Skate Nation, but if I get back on rollerblades again and practice on rollerblades maybe I'll switch back to skating and practice on my skate Converse. I really want to learn how to escape but I think I'm better at rollerblading
I just went downhill today on the road in the morning, and adrenalin hit me, then I was panicking on how hard I was going to hit the pavement, so luckily I found a pole surrounded by grass and landed safely. I will remember your advice on going downhill.
I don't roller skate but I know how to because of roller blades I tried it I was pretty good but one thing that made me almost falll on my face is that I did the heel stop with one foot it's pretty nice honestly but I prefer roller blades
me and my friend use bubbles to control our speed and make turns if we need to, if you’re confident enough to go down to simple hill using bubbles\ lemon drops can help:]
I have an old ankle injury that's been preventing me from starting, I'd love to know the difference between normal growing pain and serious should pay attention to this pain
I like to practice in my church parking lot there’s plenty of hills of varying sizes I can go up and down on and it’s smooth plus at youth group and friends and I roller skate/skateboard together
I went roller skating for my cousins 5th birthday and i had to go fast because if i went slow i would stop and couldn't move and then i would have to go on my knees and crawl to somewhere where i can pull myself back up😂
It shouldn't be a question of how easy it is to skate, it should be fitting to your interest. Do you like skating indoors? Where it is free and the ground is smooth, music playing and you're free to groove as much as you like? Try quad skates. Do you like outdoor skating? Where you can go as far as you can possibly go, as fast as you please, all the while enjoying the outdoors? Try inlines. This doesn't mean you cant use inlines in a indoor rink and this doesn't mean you cant use quads outdoors, but it purely comes down to preference and style. Try both and see what you like more, its different for everybody and no matter what, you will fall and there is no way to circumvent that unless you dont try to skate at all. Happy skating!
Good beginner posture for balance is what id call piggyback posture 😅 bent knees and leaning forward slightly so your weight isnt shifted back so your feet cant slide away from you 👌🏻
Pov: you try and be like everyone else even though youve only skated for 5 minutes so you go as fast as everyone else and basically force urself to learn quicker
Hi! I just bought my skates, and I love them so much. But I have severe drift when skating at the roller rink. I’ve never had this problem with rentals. Is it skill issues or something else? Please let me know, this problem is very discouraging and I can’t skate calmly and with peace of mind.
One time me and my friends went to A park and were rollerskating but my friends didn’t know how to all of them ended up falling down and getting hurt all of them were fine I was the only one that didn’t fall I am very good at rollerskating and ice-skating my friends were so jealous they just walked instead of skating we still laugh to that day😂
last night i bought roller blades and the moment we got home i used it for about 4 hours😂and then the next day the moment i woke up i instantly wore my roller blades😂😂😂
I've been skating for 2 1/2 years I'm not a complete professional but these tips are real but my tip is point your toe down/out but keep your leg back dont put it out to the side
this may seem obvious, but beginners should know how to appropriately wear gear. my first attempt at skating I lost my balance, fell and broke my wrist. It turns out, I didn't have the wrist guard on correctly. it was a hard lesson to learn.
I had went first time skating with a friend this weekend, and I did give up, I felt embarrassed of the amount of tines I feel and people crowding to see if I was ok And after the first 2-3 hours I took them off From my experience definitely wear bandages on your big toes, you get blisters I will pick up my own skates and try again
What type of roller skates can I use for outside like I wanna get these white ones from Kohls but they say and I quote “head out onto the rink” is there a specific type I need?
