    This lecture is a hallmark. These lectures are in itself “Atma Vichara” As Michael mentioned moments spent in Self attention are moments of Self surrender 🙏🏼 By hearing these lectures grace shines in my heart, overtakes ego and makes me self attentive. ❤ Om Tat Sat 🙏🏼 Jai Bhagavan ⭐️

    It is truly Bhagavan's grace that we are drawn to and have been given access to his teachings through Michael and not any other teacher. This satsang is yet another gift that I am totally unworthy of 🙏🙏🙏 Thank you Michael, Ted and all my fellow seekers. Om Namo Bhagavate Sri Ramanayya 🙏 🙏🙏

    Thank you Michael 🙏. At this Eastertide I am thinking of Bhagavan's illuminating words on the crucifixion of Christ ( taken from Maha Yoga )- '" The body is the cross ; the ego is Jesus the ' son of man ' ; when he is crucified , He is resurrected as the ' Son of God ' , which is the glorious real Self . One should lose the ego in order to live " . Happy Easter everyone ✝️🕉️

    Michael, I hope you feel better and your health improves. Thank you for these helpful explanations. In particular, I have never heard anyone discuss the issue of free will vs destiny and Bhagavan's teachings in the way that you have. Thank you so much. Namaste.

    Michael mentioned what it truly means what we call “presence” or “now”, or to “be in the presence or now”. And that is overlooked by all of those contemporary spiritual teachers who claim to be “awakened” like Tolle or Adyashanti and many others.
    However their experience is superficial and what has happened to them is that they are experiencing a more subtle state of mind what all of them confuse with Self-realization. They speak about a disappearance of the ego and they probably are not intentionally lying since that subtle mind state may seem like that the ego has gone.
    But what all of those apparently awakened teacher have in common (all of them!) is that they still see the world and phenomena and that is the evidence of a still existing mind and ego.
    What does that mean? Several things, firstly they didn't practice (properly) atma-vichara because then this misunderstanding could not have happened in the first place and they are confused about the nature of reality what makes them a more superficial teacher who attract a certain superficial crowd.
    How many spiritual teachers point out that the annihilation of the ego means the disappearance of this phenomenal world? None I know of but Michael alone. In fact most will take offense of that notion since it challenges their “enlightenment” 🙂

    Namaskarams. The session was very illuminating. I need clarification regarding Bhagawan's teaching. If all the happenenings are according to the design of the God, commission of a sin is also one's destiny?

      Namaskaram, I assume I was talking about verse 27 (and perhaps 28 also) of Bhagavad Gītā Sāram, which are Bhagavan’s Tamil translations of verses 25 and 26 of chapter 6.
      You can see these two Tamil verses with my English translation here: happinessofbeing.blogspot.com/2021/05/can-self-investigation-boost-mind-or.html#bgs27

    Michael, regarding chapter 6 verse 25 of the Bhagavad-Gita; is the word ātma-sanstham translated to God or one's Self? When I do a search, translations to the former appear. Are we sure this verse is referencing self-investigation? I'm asking as I've been discussing self-investigation with a Hindu friend of mine and she mentioned the aforementioned point.

    • @SriRamanaTeachings
      @SriRamanaTeachings  Рік тому +2

      Tommy, ātman means oneself, or in this context yourself, and saṁstha means standing with, standing on (or in), staying on or being on, so ‘ātma-saṁsthaṁ manaḥ kṛtvā’ means ‘making the mind stay on yourself’, which implies ‘fixing attention on yourself’ or ‘being self-attentive’. In verse 27 of Bhagavad Gītā Sāram ( happinessofbeing.blogspot.com/2021/05/can-self-investigation-boost-mind-or.html#bgs27 ) Bhagavan translated it into Tamil as ‘cittattai āṉmāvil sērttiḍuka’, which means ‘join [combine, unite, tie, fasten, secure or fix] the mind on yourself’.
      However, many interpreters and translators of the Bhagavad Gītā prefer to interpret it in a more dualistic or theistic manner, so as you have noticed, in the case of this verse they interpret ātman to mean God. Of course, God is nothing other than ātman, ourself as we actually are, but this simple truth is not exactly what the dualists and theists want to believe.
      Namo Ramanaya
