If I'm the self, then all there is is the self, I'm losing the need for answers. Ramana is myself the self of all. I hear this my heart gets bigger and mind quiet! Thank you.
Clay... I have been enjoying SO MANY of your videos for the last 4 months or so, I just want to give you my many thanks and express my gratitude. I especially appreciate the way you have voiced Nisargadatta's books, where I hear a difference in your inflection and delivery from Question'er to Maharaj's answers; voicing these books that way is the truest recording I've found to the source material.

" Shri Ramana Maharshi was one of the most significant people of this century. He was not a master; that’s why people don’t know him as they know George Gurdjieff or J. Krishnamurti. They don’t even know him as they know Sri Aurobindo or P. D. Ouspensky who were only teachers - profound teachers, but not mystics. “Ramana Maharshi was a silent pool of energy. Every morning he used to sit for a silent satsang, communion. He never talked much, unless asked something. Then too his answer was very short - having profundity, but you had to look for it. There was no explanation in it. His literature is confined to two, three small booklets. “His teaching was mostly to be in silent communion with the disciples. Naturally, very few people were benefited by him. But every morning he was sitting, people were sitting, and a cow would come and stand outside, putting her neck through the window, and she would remain standing there while the satsang lasted. It must have continued for years. People came and went, new people came, but the cow remained constant, coming at the exact time, never late. “As the satsang would disperse she would move away. “One day she did not appear, and Shri Ramana said, “Today satsang cannot be held, because my real audience is absent. I am afraid either the cow is very sick or she has died, and I have to go and look for her.” He lived on a mountain in the south of India, Arunachal. The cow belonged to a poor woodcutter who lived near the ashram. Ramana left the temple where they used to meet, went to the woodcutter and asked, ‘What happened? The cow has not come today for satsang.’ “The woodcutter said, “She is very sick and I am afraid she is dying, but she goes on looking out of the door, as if she is waiting for someone. Perhaps she is waiting for you, to see you for the last time. Perhaps that is why she is hanging around a little longer.” “Ramana went in and there were tears in the eyes of the cow. And she died happily, putting her head in the lap of Ramana Maharshi. This happened just in this century. Ramana declared her enlightened, and told his people that a beautiful memorial should be made for her. It is very rare for human beings to be enlightened; it is almost impossibly rare for animals to become enlightened, but the cow attained. “She will not be born again. From the body of a cow she has bypassed the whole world of humanity, and she has jumped ahead and joined with the buddhas. So once in a while - there are a few instances only - it has happened. But that cannot be called the rule; it is just the exception."
I like ponder on when the body I am in was an infant with a pure untainted mind, free of conditioned beliefs and ideas, and rest in the consciousness that was experiencing that time of the perpetual present moment.
This thing popped up in me!! Q-- when the world is unreal which is based on ego!! Then wat would b the purpose of true self having this experience of life in this unrealistic (world=ego) Wat would b the true self's purpose? Being in the present moment wat was it wanting or saying??
That’s answered once you become or be in the “true self” someone asked him a similar question. And his answer was to first dissolve everything that’s not “self” and see if the same question arises?
A screen and a movie in 1928? OKaaaaayyyy......Fun Fact: TV was first run as an experiment in India in 1959, That's reality! There's still good info here so thanks!
bekim mara the true Buddhist path is self inquiry. I can tell you that one should not get caught in the form of the Buddha’s reaching least they hurt you. Indeed the Buddha taught that his teaching can be compared to a poisonous snake 🐍 that one must carefully pick up least the teachings themselves could harm you. His final admonition was to paraphrase him....”let the Truth be your light, let yourself be your light. Do not rely on what others or what I have told you or what has been written down for you by others”..... The essence is Truth is Truth the label is unimportant.
At first a Buddhist begins the search, a Christian, a scientist, a theologian, or a mystic, in the end no one ever finds anything and that is the search. All that is found is that the searcher and the searched are not there.
I think there is an error @ 33.52 mins when u say 'past & present exist in the mind'. I think it should be 'past & future is only in the mind ' as mental projections.
I want "the screen" to be joyful and trustworthy, infinitely help- and merciful, supporting and infinitely abundant, filled and overflowing with love, grace, joy, truth, kindness, peace, compassion, art, adventure, eloquence, integrity, openness and open-mindedness, free spirits and creativity, so everything and everyone can be freed of and be without guilt and shame, and without false judgment, be it from self or others. No lack, fear and evil shall have to preside evermore. Above all shall reign the principles of that which gives life, that which creates. Joy of existence. Love above all. Eternal life.
This is a rather misleading commentary on Ulladu Narpadu in many places. For example, at one place I heard it said that the ego comes from the intellect, which is completely contrary to one of the central ideas in the text that if the ego comes into existence, everything comes into existence, including the intellect, which is one of the sheaths of the body that the ego projects. Listen to Michael James for an in-depth and authoritative exposition of this seminal text.
