The armed robbery one: the man dropped his magazine and the teacher in the school yard put it in the bin. He fingerprints were on it. They could have got him if she handed the mag in to the cops.

It would always just fade to black in the 1980s, 1990s ones. Usually the appeal is for witnesses who were around at the time so police can build up a picture of the movements of the suspect. One problem they have is they sometimes have to change details in the reconstruction because they can't broadcast extreme or graphic language/details. Another problem is if they were to describe the clothing the victim was wearing it might help jog people's memories who were on the area, but they often can't because victims of sex crimes can't be identified unless they choose to be.
I don't think that Evan Jones was as a nice a man as his family make him out to be, he attacks his TV approaches a girl with a pram who was spooked by his actions then goes out for a fight, his daughter Hannah lost contact with him for sometime, his killer was never caught either. Murders involving strangers are the hardest to solve as there is no connection between the victim and the perpetrator.
