I have searched in many places, I have spent many hours of study and here I found the perfect solution. You have a new follower, you are simply a genius!!!
This is very useful. Why can't this sharing of surface be made available to those who do not use Autodesk docs (just sharing on the same machine)? I use both civil 3d and revit and quite often I need to share a surface. Going through autodesk docs seems unnecessary and often creates more problems.
@jeffbartelsCAD - Does this keep the site close to the internal origin in Revit? Revit purports a new 20 mile limit from a many versions ago, but realistically anything larger than a mile and imported DWG files begin to fall apart. What we are trying to do (as we live in denver) is link the topo as you showed, bring the SW corner down to 0,0,0 and then acquire coordinates that way, but there appears to be a bug with lining in the flat-cad site using shared coordinates.
This was very useful as always, I have a question it is not related to this topic but I was frustrated to search and I found nothing. when I insert points from GIS in the format of shapefile in civil 3d in data I can insert data field. in civil 3d properties, this information comes as OD in the properties window but it does not show this information in Autocad, is there a way I can see this information also in Autocad. thank you in advance
Hi Jeff, thank you very much for your always very helpful videos. You're talking about a view called Footprint in Revit. Can you give a tip on how to create them, that all foundations, depressions etc. appear? Is there perhaps a chance to generate this via Dynamo? Maybe you have an idea that can help me. Thank you very much for your support. Stay healthy!
foot print can be made with the humble visibility graphics dialog. showing off dynamo skills in a pelage is making using BIM for a niche that does not know what they are suppose to do.
