    Some of the best worship guitar tones, in my opinion, are on the Have It All album by Bethel, and on this song in particular. My other favorite is the Only King Forever album by Elevation (and Response by Phil Wickham). What are your favorites? #nerdyguitarstuff

    I find very little variety or challenge playing almost all Christian music. I understand that supposed it's all about worship of God and that people very comfortable with a certain way of playing. The Church culture has its very own genres of worship music . But it would be nice to hear some guitar work and creativity on the level of Eric Johnson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Beck, Mark Knopfler, Eddie Van Halen, Neal Schon, John Mayer, John Coltrane, Slash, Brian May, Robert Plant, Derek Trucks, BB King, etc, etc

      If you understand that it’s all about worshiping God, doesn’t that explain why there isn’t (and shouldn’t be) self indulgent and distracting styles of play? Here’s the thing: For corporate worship (gathering with the saints and singing together), simple is better. That’s why hymns exist. They’re accessible in terms of skill needed to participate. They’re pattern-based and easy for people to sing. Therefore, the majority of our faculties can be used to focus on the Lord. Now, at a Christian concert-a music showcase NOT designed for worshiping the Lord corporately-all the styles you mention are completely appropriate. I conclude that you just need to understand the difference between what’s appropriate for corporate singing and what should be reserved for a concert. It’s basically this: what’s the reason for the music: Worship (singing as the body of Christ) vs. Every other reason.
      Edit: I love all the players you mentioned. So don’t think I’m against them. SRV was my hero. 😃

    Hey man great playing!. Do you think the rjm can replace the kemper controler and are you using the mini effect gizmo for the loop?

    • @GuitarforHISGlory
      @GuitarforHISGlory  6 років тому +1

      The RJM can replace the remote, for sure. I'm not using the Mini Effects Gizmo at this time.

    What a great cover and tone! It sounds almost identical to the og! Just one small question. In the first chorus how did you get the delay to do that? I cant figure it out. Is it more compression? Time? I have a timeline btw. Thanks

      That’s just what happens when you slam the front of amps/Kempers (whatever you’re using) with overdrive, delay and reverb.

    Tones locked in man, what kemper profile are you using?

    • @GuitarforHISGlory
      @GuitarforHISGlory  6 років тому

      This is the Tone Junkie AC30/6 profile; it's one of the four or five profiles I use most often.

    • @gsexton89
      @gsexton89 6 років тому

      What are the other 4? I've seen your top 5 profiles vid btw but it seems like you're using Tone Junkie stuff now. I just got a Kemper and am purchasing profiles which is why I'm asking. Thx!

    Hey, so most of your videos are on guitar parts if you only have one guitar for the band. Do you think in the future you would consider posting play throughs/tutorials of guitar parts specific to Rhythm and Lead and/or Guitar 1 and Guitar 2? Like have one video for Lead/Guitar 1 and have another for Rhythm/Guitar 2?

    • @GuitarforHISGlory
      @GuitarforHISGlory  5 років тому

      Josh, if this ever becomes what I do full time, I'd probably consider it. For now, my focus will be (and has been) on combining parts to suit a band with one lead guitar player.

    Hi Troy. Did you not put out tab charts for this awesome song?

  • @beworship6168
    @beworship6168 4 роки тому

    Troy I love that tone at the beginning of the video, if you don't mind me asking, but how are you getting your OD to sound like it's clipping like that but very tastefully. thank and be blessed!!!

    • @GuitarforHISGlory
      @GuitarforHISGlory  4 роки тому +1

      That's just what happens when you slam the front end of a delay and reverb pedal, and then slam all that into the front ent of an amp.

    • @beworship6168
      @beworship6168 4 роки тому

      @@GuitarforHISGlory thank you bro, so if I understand this right,I turn up the "vol" of my drives that in turns drives the front end of the reverb and delay,then that goes to a cooking amp,(higher volume mild gain)?
