Beauty of a fly Jonas, love watching your videos. It really helps to watch someone who knows how to tie the flies extremely well. Can't wait for the next one.
Thanks so much for that Gary 🙏 i will try to publish one new video every Sunday
These flies always look so delicate. It would be interesting to see how they hold up after hooking a fish.
I got i nice example 😃 took a Fully dressed Silver Grey tied on a 5/0 hook and trowed it in the water outside Cuba 😃😃
Great fly Thanks for the video
Thanks a lot for watching 🙏
Another beautiful fly buddy, just looking at that and im thinking the GP musy be the most used material in classics between tails and tippets. Is your green wing slip veniards green highlander?? . As for the wool head you can get away with that, i done my Wilkinson the othernight and got the herl head done just nice, spent a lot of time varnishing the front of it. Took a picture and realised i forgot the horns😢 i just left it till the next night to fix it .
Thanks a lot buddy, yes that GP is used a lot i always stock up a lot of it. My green wing slip is indeed Veniards green highlander mate.
Yeah the wool head 😃 i made the head thinking of that wool head so thats why it look as it does 🙈 its so easy to forget the horns or head since in our mind we are finishing the fly
Great to see you tie classics. I have collected materials for many years -rare and expensive feathers - like speckled and florican bustard, chatterer and toucan. I just need to find big white feathers needed for the married wings - I dye all my materials like fur, and feathers, hackle capes with Weniard colours. What white feathers shall I buy to dye the colour sections for the married wings? Problem is they need to be fairly big since I plan to tie on 5/0 hooks.
Hi good afternoon, i also use mostly Veniards when coloring my feathers. For sizes up to 5/0 or above i would use Swan or white turkey tail feathers. It’s not always easy to get materials but If you find any buy as much possible if ok quality
@@jonas_flies I will be on the look out - finding dead swans are rare, they sometimes die because of birdflu, while white turkey tail feathers are easier to find - just rare to find in good quality from raised birds. Will see if I can find a farm that raise white turkeys
@@niller2006 agree a white turkey farm is easier else Swan sometimes available in the shop cockshill in UK
