Thank you. Yes. I can tell by your body language you can feel the hypnotic, sensual, poetic and jazz elements all working synergistically in this classic.
In 67, the Ford Motor Company gifted Jim Morrison with a gorgeous blue 1967 Ford Shelby 500GT. He used to drive it all over LA and then when he went to Paris, where he died in 71 at the age of 27, the car-which Morrison called, The Blue Lady, mysteriously disappeared. There are several urban legends about what happened to The Blue Lady, but none have been officially confirmed. Check it out, Kerry. You'll get to find out more about Jim, and what his life was like back then. Loved the Doors, and I adore you, dear lady. You're a sweetheart. Thanks for sharing your reactions to these great songs from the past.
Best song when you are driving and it’s raining
Oh yeah. I`m an old man from Tacoma
There is an awesome clip of Ray Manzarek playing and explaining all of the various things that went into this recording.
Arguably one the best keyboard solos in rock. Ray Manzarek was great on keyboards in the Doors. Really his keyboard was the "other lead voice" of the band
Those keyboards were a perfect compliment in combination with Jim's voice and phrasing. This tune is iconic!
Just like light my fire.
No doubt :))))))) this is the END!
Utah as lightning storms you will never forget...first the wind blows everything away...then a light rain...then heavier....then huge bolts of lighting...you can see them coming across the valley...as you hide with your motorcycle under any cover you can find...
If you are going to tell a long story you might consider stopping the video...😁😁😎😎
Ya think?
Thanks, you ruin the song.
The amazing intro of the song started playing and I was like "😱😱😱 why is she not paying attention???" "Shhhhhh" 😅😅😅
What do you mean? It immediately took her back to her childhood, then the vocals mezmirized her
@@deanchambers8613 I mean exactly what I said - she does this frequently - I'm just trying to help
Jim Morrison is a legend. Listen to "Light my Fire". 🔥
The rock radio station I listened to as a teen ager used to play this song when it would rain, which was often in my hometown of Houston Tx
I saw them once in Cleveland in 1970, wow what a show. It was my first concert ever at that time.
Hello, loved the Doors, introduced to them in the early 90's and I was in my 20's...crazy, Jim Morrison (the lead vocalist) died in July 1971 and I was born August 1971. What an amazing band. Glad you have a chance to hear them. Morrison live is insane to see.
A little bit of fun fact, the name of the band 'The doors', is taken from the Dylan Thomas poem, 'Through the DOORS of time.' Jim Morrison was a poet as much as he was a musician and song writer! Such a great Band!
Love the Doors and this is my favorite song of their's. Different kinds of storms in our lives not just weather.
All women loved Jim Morrison, looks like he still has that effect!
Great musicianship, subtle drumming, low key guitar, and of course, Manzarek's, soo expressive (electric) piano! And the overall arrangement, with Morrison's nuanced vocals, still as fresh as it was (almost) 60 years ago!
I ignored the video and watched you, LOL. Love The Doors .....I play their cassette albums in my car wekely. Peace & Love, Kerry;
First time listening to this song was when I was a pre-teen in the 70's or early 80's riding shotgun in my family's `74 Dodge Power Wagon on a road trip to the Oregon coast from Idaho. I was in charge of the 8-track tape box and had to retrieve and play the requested musical selections. I remember playing a lot of John Denver, Elvis Presley, Simon & Garfunkel, Deep Purple, and The Doors.
I still love and appreciate a wide variety of musical selections and respect others who also have learned to be tolerant of many different musical styles.
0:51 Storms don't frighten me yet the do frighten me with the Havoc.
Great reaction! The Doors were on point...
One of the great bands out of Los Angeles in the 60's. Kerry, they lived and worked in your neighborhood. The Doors were the first album I bought in 1967 while in high school. They're just as good today.
mesmerising
I could watch you listening to the Doors all day. You get this music, so great to see young people digging the Doors!
Love your reactions 😍
My favorite song 🔥
This is sitting in the Living room at night during a steady rain with the doors and windows open, the only lights are candles, A Cozy Chair with A nice bottle of wine and this song.... It's BEYOND being "a vibe".
4:50 ... You know what it sounds like 😂
You are so beautiful! Glad you liked this, always one of my favorites
You have to close your eyes when you listen to this song.
Loved your reactions to this and Break on Through. I need to look up these videos- never seen them and I'm a life-long Doors fan!
Kerry. The Doors are a very influential rock group. The words and music are married together in what can be described as an electric wedding of sound and poetry.
The Doors have a song called LOVE ME TWO TIMES from their Soundstage Performances that runs about 4:58 and as a poetic opening before the song. It is a live black and white video. Enjoy
Glad you like the Doors. Check out "The Crystal Ship".
I'm 56 and this was my first favorite song
Some of my doors favorites are light my fire and hello I love you. Enjoy your videos and these trips down memory lane.
Hey Kerry this reaction thing is so cool, my name is Ray M, I am chatting on my friends thing here, ya i am the keyboard player, I'm older now but so great to see young people liking our tunes.
That car in this video: 1967 Shelby GT500. This Basic Order model is one of only 438 finished in Brittany Blue and one of only 348 built with this one's trim and color combination. All of which makes it one of the most expensive classic muscle cars of the 1060's
Another beautiful reaction from you, sweet Kerry. ❤
The biggest Doors' classic is "Light My Fire." There are both long and short versions of the hit. Take your pick. 😉
Only way to listen is the long version.
The long version.
It's a movie too. With Denis Hopper. Song is before my time.
Talking through one of the most best songs everrr ……. It is not done!
Hi, Kerry. First heard this song, and became interested in the group, in my early teens. I think this was Jim Morrison's last recording before his death. Thanks for sharing 👍
Another great reaction. I loved your story from your childhood.❤❤❤Keri❤❤❤RUSSIA🤍💙❤
Classic DOORS 🚪 ❤️❤️
I love your reviews and choice of music. It is nice to have you in America.
Lost in a Storm...you took me back many years to a motorcycle ride alone I took from Calif coast across the desert of Utah...Arizona , Nevada....huge rain storm...I washed up at an old Indian Rez gas station near Mexican Hat ....soaked leather jacket , Levis and boots...hide out under the over hang....dry out and take off again...next day....suns up....
The Doors were Bad Ass! I got hooked on them in 1970.
KERRY YOU ALWAYS HAVE GOOD REACTIONS TO SONGS AND YOU DONT STOP THE SONGS IN THE MIDDLE OF PLAYING THAT GOOD FOR YOU THANKS 1 MORE THING YOUR SOOOO FINE !!
Kerry; Crystal Ship. My favorite Doors song. It's from their first album.
This song and LA woman needs to be listened to on a great vintage stereo system.
I was a kid when it came out but my favorite 🌩 song
you are so cool ! thank you
Sweet
Check out his poetry, he has a couple of books.
He died when I was in the Army in Vietnam
lightning is what you are explaining - yes it comes down to the earth, or travels in :chains" across the sky - and sometimes it goes from the ground up to the clouds
Yes I love a good thunder storm. Most people run it because of the lightning, I go out to watch it.
I remember meeting Ray a sincerely good person.
0:38 Apprehensive? I like rain when it is soft and constant. Nothing better.
This takes me back to my late teens and early 20s. Thanks, Kerry. One of my most favorite bands of all time. No voice like Jim Morrison's. No keyboardist like Manzarek.
Used to listen to storm videos all the time. May have start again.
The Doors were at times tabbed as Psychedelic rock but this song, at least to me, sounds more like Jazz-Rock. Great track. Jim Morrison left us way too early. Such a talented guy. Take care, Kerry
The End and When The Music's Over are great tracks too...
This song should have been used in the movie The Hitcher.
You need to listen to their song LA Woman. It's a trip!
Attention! the song does not say "riders UNDER storm" but: riders ON the storm
Maybe the most American Song !!! WTG
I like his jacket to.
Privot Kerry, Love your reactions. I can recommend a lot of other Doors songs, like "Five to one, Hello I love You, Touch Me, Love Street, Moonlight Drive, Crystal Ship, LA Woman, Light my Fire, People are strange, Strange days, to name just a few can't wait to see you react to some of them.
Moreover, LA Woman is a must-listen performed by Billy Idol.
Jim Morrison continues to be an enigma. Over 50 yrs. on, he's still a mystery. His untimely death continues to leave us with more questions than answers.
i love storm too 😭😭
Greetings from CDMX 🥑🌶🌽🌵🚴
Oh btw, that elongated rearview mirror on the wind shield was on purpose -as this model was meant for road racing.
My favourite Doors song!
More Doors, "The End" and "LA Woman"...🙂
Watch pink floyd Sorrow from Pulse concert 1994. Great Gig In The Sky also from pulse concert. Great reaction
You need a good pair of headphones to get the stereo effect that that these albums were recorded in . Without the proper equipment it’s like taking a shower while wearing a raincoat .
This video is cool it shows Pam, Jim's girlfriend. On April 25, 1974, Courson died of a heroin overdose on the living room couch at the Los Angeles apartment she shared with two male friends. Like Morrison, she was 27 years old when she died.
before a storm is a special time
I a DOOR a storm, too.
Need for speed. Enough said. IYKYK❤
Hypnotic, sensual, poetic, a work of mastership....who needs drugs if you have the DOORS to listen to!
Video game version is really cool of this song
Story's are Music 🎵 Music are Story's 🎹👍
This is good driving music.
We Stoners from circa 1970s-1980s use to always listen to the DOORS , they were as good as Led Zepp Only different :) 63 and still Rocking :))))))
Watch the Doors movie. Val Kilmer as Jim Morrison. Directed by Oliver Stone in 1991. You will enjoy. 🙂🎬
You should listen to love me two times by the doors. There is a awesome live version from when they toured Europe back in 1968 I think
I bet this is one of your new favourite songs now!
Watch Leonid & Friends (Russian musicians, singing in English) do almost any song - you will love them!
Saw them in May in NC. They are amazing, Ksenia the lead female singer will blow you away.
The Doors were unique. There is really no one else that even remotely sounded like them.
The last song Jim ever recorded with the band before he took some mee time. And that's the last we heard from Jim. Have a good time young lady from Russia
...Class of 76"...If you haven't heard...a movie was made called "The Doors"...As much as you seem to like the Doors I highly recommend watching it...The movie will explain much about Jim and his interactions with the guys in the band to include explaining the meaning of many of his songs...RIP Jim...I miss all the songs I will never hear that are still locked inside your mind...
Gorgeous
This was the Doors 5 or 6 Album released . He died a few months later . July 3 1971 R.I.P.
ace love
Thank you Kerry for your good reactions to this and other bands! Please react to Sunday Will Never Be The Same, Like To Get To Know You, Lazy Day by Spanky And Our Gang. Thank you so much!
LA would've been the best place in the world to be in the 1960's, all the best music, movies, tv shows were made in this era...the hippy movement, cool fashion, hot chicks in mini skirts, groovy hairstyles. They were just cooler people in the 60's
It really was. I was there (still am). Over 50 years later and the memories are as fresh as yesterday was.
You are truly blessed@@johnnyswanson6387
2:46 Pamela was such a natural beauty, man it's still sad thinking about how young they were and what happened to them.
❤
The Doors - Roadhouse Blues
The Doors ride the 1960s a time of turmoil because on the civil rights revolution, In the video there are images of these demonstrations, History written whith songs.
Damn girl it's a good thing you're pretty
Supposedly, passionate lovers love stormy weather.
Vaya te tiene impactada Jim Morrison,el querido Rey Lagarto
