    Hey Tyler, Really love your teaching style, been a patreon for a while every thought of going back and re doing some of your earlier videos so we can get tabs and song sheet and maybe even making the easy versions more technical :)

    Thanks! I kept adding an extra Up stroke so it was throwing everything off. Love your videos!

      Thank you Gwenie. Happy to help and I am happy that the strum pattern worked out. Look forward to helping you in the future!

    I was taught to start with F, C, G,D then A. I believe that my chords were actually what jimi played and they fit nice with the ukulele

      +Indiana Jones They fit nicely, but this song is definitely an E chord.

    easy way to down tune if you havn't done it before is, put your capo on the first fret and tune normal, when you take the capo off you'll be a half step lower =)

      Thanks man, I didn't know much about Ukuleles when I bought it outside of how to play them. I played about two dozen and that is the one that just spoke to me the most man. Keep on playing brother!

      Tyler Austenfeld I love those Lunas, but this symbol on the headstock what does it represent?

    • @TenThumbsProductions
      @TenThumbsProductions  10 років тому

      DEROY CREWS That is a good question man and to be honest with you I'm not quite sure. Luna means moon in Latin, and consequently the same in both Spanish and Italian, being Lune in french (maybe the root of crazy as a loon?) and Lua in Portuguese. So, it's some kind of moon, but the ivory in frets are waves, so I think it is a little more cosmic that than and has to do with the connection between Moon and the tides. All just guesses though brother, not quite sure.

      Tyler Austenfeld yeah I know this sounds superstitious but as a Christian I don't like anything that represents religion or or false religions, but if I can find a luna that has no symbols on it, I think they're really great looking ukuleles

      DEROY CREWS You should have a Ukulele that represents you man, I dig it. The Lunas are pretty though.

    Dumb favor: would you mind telling me the strum pattern for the E chord? No matter how many times I rewind the video I just can't seem to get it. Thank you so much!

      @TenThumbsProductions  10 років тому +3

      No such things as dumb favors, I'm happy to help. Try something like, D D DUU UDU D D DUU UDU. Note that it is really just D D DUU UDU repeating itself twice. I think that should help, take it easy and let me know if you have more questions.

      Thanks John, I updated the description to include links to two videos with some improvisation ideas and how to find the pentatonic and the corresponding key. So that way you can find the pentatonic that sits over each chord, like the D major of the D for example, that's how Jimi built his fills. This is also a playlist with some general tips and tricks that includes other shapes of the pentatonic, too, if shape one starts to get old. Thanks again. ua-cam.com/play/PLiyLyfe9rdbBj18_gM00CxCLl4NijzSAJ.html
