Hearing Dan do his Keith Richards made me think "QUEEEEEN OF THE HARPIES! 'ERES YOUR CROWN, YER MAJESTY!"
Celebrity voice actors really have negated form the art form, in my opinion. Occasionally they're good but mostly they're just doing their normal voice. Really wish actual voice actors were cast in animated movies/series more often. How could you argue that these guys are anything but in another league to your Hollywood a-listers.
Agreed, I'd much rather see voice acting legends like Dan Castellaneta, Jim Cummings, Tom Kenny etc than big movie stars just doing their own voices
We need to see Conan do more animated voice acting… he was in like what, two animated movies?
That's a really interesting point. Was just watching Shrek 3 and I immediately could tell Arthur was just Justin Timberlake. So the rest of the movie just felt like Shrek was on an adventure with Justin Timberlake. However, would you agree that Tom Hanks as Woody is one of the best voices for an animated character of all time even though he was juts doing his normal voice? It's instantly believable from first word.
@@balloonpoop i would argue that although tom hanks is doing a good job in the role, you instantly hear tom hanks and not the character. The point being made is that it would presumably be much better if official voice actors did jobs of said genre instead of people like screen actors, people who can create a new person just through there voice rather than a character that is just an extension of the celebrity
@@Baegitte He's in Final Space!
"Mr. Burns, I'm sorry I ate all your tongue depressors."
"That's all right, Homer, I didn't have any."
"Oh...DOH!"
...man, I could listen to Dan Castellaneta being Homer Simpson and other Simpsons characters as well as Harry Shearer being Monty Burns all day if I could.
I'm disappointed that Harry didn't do Ned's voice as well, I would've loved to hear him and Dan improvise a conversation between Homer and Ned
“I’m sorry, Mr. Burns, I ate all your tongue depressors…”
Harry does Johnny Carson perfectly like NOTHING. Didn't even get an applause
I've seen a lot of VAs and The Simpsons cast still has some of the most impressive
It's funny how Dan still sounds so much like Homer when he's speaking normally.
Sounds more like the lawyer to me
@@johnmartinez7440 oh yea
you don't say! what did you expect? to just totally shift? (and if even possible, fully destroying his voice by doing so?)
@@HxTurtle ...I mean, his earliest "Walter Matthau" voice as Homer more or less _was_ an almost complete tonal shift, so there's that? Nice attempt though; keep trying, maybe one day you'll destroy me with an out-of-nowhere sarcastic rebuttal.
@@whatdidoursurveysay okay, I'll hang in there, then xD
Finally this video in good quality! I remember seeibg this very, very early on the internet, and from time to time since then and it has always been the same old compressed file. Nice to see it like this!
I LOVE that they continued the tongue depressor joke from Dr Hibbett to Mr Burns only to find out he didn't have any tongue depressors and a "back up" rubber glove is pure simpsons. I can see it.
I knew they did all the voices but when you see it transition so seamlessly and perfectly it’s just glorious
they deserved a MUCH bigger applause
"Mr Burns, I ate all your tongue depressors"
"Who the devil are you?"
Man I love them both, but Dan also having such good improv skills is too good!
I'm sorry but I really don't think it's improv haha, but if it is I would love for them to write the Simpsons instead of whatever the hell is happening rn
Dan Castelleneta is actually one of the consulting producers on The Simpsons. But I don’t think even he can turn the sitcom around. So many episodes have been made that the creative well has just become completely dried up many times over at this point.
I love the comedic genius of these men. Their quick wit makes it seem they could certainly have written for the show.
A big smile on my face from start till end.
Brilliant 👏
All the Simpsons cast especially the 3 men are just legendary voice actors but out of everyone and from any show ever..... Dan's Castellaneta is the BEST!!!!!!!
I remember watching a classic version of the video and NOT being surprised by who they each provided character voices since i owned a book of the Simpson's 2nd season and it explains who provides which voice
Only problem was
Dan forgot Barney
And Harry forgot Ned Flanders, Reverend Lovejoy and Otto
I love voice acting more than physical acting. It has a very special charm to me.
These guys do great impressions of The Simpsons.
Huh? They ARE the Simpsons voices!🤣
🎣
Homer Simpson…great actor.
I agree, I think they're better than whoever does the voices for the cartoon.
@@tonkpb lol
When Conan was a writer on the show the show was so clever and hilarious. I miss those earlier episodes
I'm in hysterics! The most hilarious video I've seen in ages! I love how both actors improvised.
4:05 theres just a bit of homer's voice leaking through 😂
Harry Shearer also does Ned Flanders.
I need about 12 more hours of this, please and thank you.
Dr. Hibbert will never be the same. I know this is old as hell, but for those that haven't noticed, Harry Shearer no longer voices Dr. Hibbert and it is super noticeable.
Because after black life matter no white do black person voice but blacks can do any race voice or skin 😅
The Simpsons past season 12 doesn’t exist to me haha
Most likely what happened to cleveland from family guy "black character, black voice", like it really makes a difference
@@lejdcool1 surprisingly Clevelands new voice actor sounds exactly like the old one, you cant even tell they switched
I quit after season 8
I could watch them all day
They're brilliant at improvisation.
The anecdote about Richards was priceless.
I'm pretty sure these were scripted before the show
I saw Harry Shearer at LAX back in January 2007 when i arrived in LA with my mom for the first time. She immediately recognized him and told me who he was. We didn't approach him because he was talking to a couple of people and we wanted to respect his privacy. All I remember was that he was really tall and looked exactly like he did here.
Would have been hillarious if Dr. Hibbert examines Grandpa
And here we are- 2022 and Keith’s still here.
Classic clip with amazing talent!
never realized shearer voices burns AND smithers, i’m amazed by how many scenes on the simpsons are just a voice actor talking to themself
This was such a treat to see. I've never seen Dan before. He's absolutely brilliant 👏 I'm an old fan of Harry's going way back. The adlib banter was so great!
@Hello there, how are you doing this blessed day?
I love how humble and appreciative Dan is of people clapping for his impression of Homer
and almost 20 years later, its still going strong! Conan take James show Late late show next year!! come back!
When i first watched the simpsons, I randomly just had a thought that what if conan had written the episodes of this epic show. And then after sometime I came to know that conan did write some episodes of it. Crazy!!
No you didn't, you filthy liar.
They're so good that the voices look dubbed in.
Dan and Harry are so talented. Mr. Burns and Homer were always my favorite characters 😃
Dan in Stargate was a great twist and no doubt RDA's desire to get his fav in there! It was a great episode too !!
great ad libs in this :)
I would love to watch a show with just Dan Castellaneta and Harry Shearer.
Is that just me?
Watch the simpsons lol
I'd swap Shearer with Hank tbh, he's a nicer person and much more talented in my opinion
This is one of the best clips on the internet. I’m convinced.
Wow, Kenny Brocklestein does the best Harry Shearer impression I've ever heard.
2:38 had me absolutely in stitches. The wit between these three men really shows, what a brilliant moment.
I've always wondered how often these guys get recognized in public. I'm sure more so as the years have gone by, but for the most part Dan Castellaneta has to be truly one of the most anonymous celebrities/stars on the planet. The average person certainly knows Homer Simpson, but not the man who voices him. It's really a great life if you think about it, because while some people might recognize Dan from somewhere they probably can't place where (he is also a character actor who has done a lot of guest spots on TV shows). So he probably only gets bothered to do voices/take pictures a moderate amount.
I loved the part where they said the thing and the crowd cheered! Also there’s the memory of that fantastic little Conan addition to the show when Bart was a guest on Late Night with Conan: “Sit perfectly still. ONLY I may dance!”
1:24 his laugh XD
Can't say how much delighted I am to see these talented actors are the ones behind my fav toons😌👏👏😂😂😂
