  • More than a year ago I had made the most viewed video on the channel. Both for the more controversial ending and for the title intentionally chosen for it. However, I confess that with the original video, I was unable to convey all the poetic and emotional grandeur that this game and this ending possessed. That's why this time I bring the definitive version of that same video. Hope you like it :3

    Many thanks for another masterpiece.
    I like the dialogue you made for the lord of frenzy; the dialogue Melina gives in the depths implies the tarnished is actually convinced of the flame of frenzy's ideals rather than doing it to prevent the need for her sacrifice like most people assume.

      Any slight consideration I had for Melina died the moment she uttered those insensitive words in the path of the three fingers the second time I had finished the game. Not to mention the petty threat and the words worthy of a manipulator that she directs at you after being touched by three fingers.
      And there are still theories that imply things that leave Melina's interests very doubtful. For example, that theory that states that she was the murderer of her finger maiden. Maybe it has something to do with Vyke's fall and imprisonment. And why the hell does she only help you in battle at Morgott? Honestly, the only good thing Melina did was give us the Torrent, which is probably not even hers, but Miquella's.
      I just think it's a shame that Melina isn't the final boss or something like that in this ending.

      @@ladyreed6094 Melina is pretty clearly devoted to the greater will and the golden order; just look at the complete indifference she shows at the mountaintop of the giants, with all the giant corpses littering the land. Her burning of the erdtree also dooms pretty much everyone in Leyndell to be buried under a mountain of ash. There is no cost too great in the service of the greater will.
      It was exactly why I had her sacrifice herself before embracing the three fingers.

      @@Sometuy11A It's clear to me that Melina is Marika's daughter. So much for the dialogues in churches, where she always seems to magnify Marika's achievements. And also because of her speech "My purpose given by my mother within Erdtree". However, something I think, that I don't see anyone talking about, is that Melina's birth was possibly Virgin Mary style. (And yes, Marika has nothing of Virgo) I faithfully believe that Melina is the daughter of Marika and the greater will/Elden beast; with her purpose being sacrifice, just like Jesus Christ.
      There is no doubt that Melina's interests are aligned with the greater will. So much so that the real bad ending, which is the blessing of despair, in which you literally curse everything that is alive, and even the children who were never born... she simply doesn't give a damn... after all: "Life endures... the births continue".
      After all, unlike most people's thinking, I truly believe that the greater will is responsible for all life in the cosmos. It all starts with the fall of her parasites, known as Elden beasts, which, by the way, I always noticed is shaped like a cosmic seed. It fertilizes the planets, forming the primordial crucible, and starting the entire evolutionary process of life. And therein lies the "MISTAKE" of the greatest will. Your cosmic obsession with spreading life.
      What the golden order and the gods did in the lands between caused "the will" to abandon the lands; and from the item descriptions, everything suggests that the fertility of the lands between declined with the abandonment of the greater will. The sayings "without graces" are quite possibly a metaphor for sterile beings.

      @Sometuy11A 8 місяців тому +1

      @@ladyreed6094 The comparison to the immaculate conception is actually pretty spot-on and something I've never thought of. I guess it's also supported by her "walking the path of destined death," with the rune of death itself having a shape reminiscent of a cross.
      This all makes sense and fits with the existence of older forms of the elden ring. Hyetta also confirms what you are saying about the greater will being wholly responsible for life. Another detail I find very interesting is the shape of the sites of grace, which look almost exactly like a vagina.

      @@Sometuy11A Another interesting thought I have, linking the world of Elden Ring with the philosophies of Arthur Schopenhauer and Phillip Mainländer, is that, most likely, the greater will is not even a conscious entity. It must be like Lovecraft's azathoth, whose simple cosmic spasms cause existential phenomena of any kind to manifest unilaterally throughout the world. Either that, or the "One great primordial" must have been the will itself. Inert, without movement. But then, perhaps by mere chance, it decided to break with itself and fragmented itself into the entire cosmos. And everything that represents life, energy, movement, spirit, longing... are all these remnants of, well, as Mainländer said? "Phenomenal remains of the carcass of the primordial god that triggered existence. I can clearly see a wonderful poetic similarity between the Frenzied flame, and Mainländer's death will.

    always interpreted the Frenzy Flame ending as this:
    Burning away this world would indeed wipe away all its flaws and imperfections, and prevent an innumerable number of people from suffering as many had, but it would also wipe away all of this worlds beauty and kindess and deny those same uncountable people from having a chance at hope.
    The world of Elden Ring is a land where hope is scarce and flickering, fading away with the Age it accompanied. Suffering and cruelty are common while those who hope and dream die or give up one by one, many of who became your friends in the time since you began your journey. It can become easy to fall into the games pervasive cynicism and decide that no matter what, whether you or another become Elden Lord that there is no hope. The names will change but the conflicts and characters within will continue as they always have. Why continue living in the corpse of a dream when you could simply pull the plug and end that pain and suffering now?
    However, as Melina says, 'One who would reign over an empty land deserves not the title.' (Or something along those lines.)
    A land without life is a land without pain and greed and cruelty, but also without anything that made it good to begin with. No pots to knock out of holes, no crab to share with a friend.
    The Frenzy Flame ends any chance of pain and cruelty and suffering, ending an age of no hope, but it also takes away any chance that hope could arise as well. Perhaps the Elden Ring shall be inherited by one who would leave the Lands Between worse than before such as the Age of Fracture or Fell Curse, but perhaps it could make it better such as with the Age of Order or Dusk-Born, bringing a semblance of peace and fairness back. The Frenzy Flame is for those selfish and arrogant enough to take the pain life as caused them and use it to strike back against life itself and damning everyone else to the consequences of your action.
    You cannot wipe out all life and call that peace, such is the words of tyrants and fools.

    • @ladyreed6094
      @ladyreed6094  8 місяців тому +16

      Hope in life is an illusory veil that prevents beings from seeing the real face of the world they inhabit. It's like Western religions. It doesn't matter the pain of the world, after all, God knows what he does and I am his servant. Just like in the world of Elden Ring. But that's not how things work. You can't keep playing god of hope and condemning new beings to this deception that is life and think that everyone will lower their heads and act like Nietzsche's fool. No! Life chained them to pain and affliction, and Frenzied Flame, unlike the other gods, offered a real solution to the world's problems. Nor Rannni and her Dark moon; nor the Golden Mask and his fanaticism; Neither will the fia and its artificial death rune solve the world's problems. After all, it is not the rulers, gods, slave masters, murderers, rapists, who cause problems in the world. As the title of the video refers: as long as there is life, there will be suffering. So the best thing is to erase this entire hideous creation.
      To say that the only end of the saga where we have the chance to erase all the suffering in the world is tyrannical and selfish, is hypocritical and naive to say the least. And it's hilarious to use Melina as the basis for this interpretation. Melina simply doesn't care about the pain in the world. She spends the entire game seeing what you see and acts with complete indifference. But when we are faced with the chance to erase the object of her obsession, she rebels.
      Understand: Tyranny and selfishness come from the obsession of wanting to generate lives that never asked to exist. It's throwing them into this demented slaughterhouse and hoping that they will be happy and make life a prosperous place. Waiting for them to inherit your illusions of hope.

    • @americancaesar6065
      @americancaesar6065 8 місяців тому +15

      What is more selfish, to believe that your knowledge of the pain the world can cause is reason enough to decide for all who live, or to allow people to live through lifes suffering and joy and decide for themselves? Which is more Tyrannical, to be one man and decide for all who may have come after you, or to allow them to decide for themselves?
      As I said before, a land devoid of life is not a land of peace. It is merely a wasteland of ash and death where nothing shall ever bloom or take root. Yes we have wiped away its sins, but we've done it by wiping it all away. Only a being of extreme arrogance or nihilism can look at what the Lord of Frenzied Flame does to the land betweens and call it 'Just' and 'Right'.
      You are right in that as long as their is life, there will be suffering. As long as there are laws there are those who would twist and bend and break them. Murderers, rapists, thief's and more. Natural disasters, disease, hunger and hopelessness can and will take root and so, so many people will suffer.
      But life is not just suffering. It's a mothers love upon looking upon her new born child. Its fellowship as a community gathers to venerate and celebrate their home and families and life itself. It is the catharsis one feels after bawling their eyes out over tragedy, and coming to terms with what was lost. It is the jokes and laughs and songs we sing with those we would call friends.
      Regardless of why they entreat the Three Fingers, the Lord of Frenzy Flame shall always share the same, immutable sins: Selfishness in their actions, arrogance in the superiority of their position. To take away the agency of countless millions and calling it a kindess, to prevent them from being born and calling it a mercy.
      I cannot say my position is without faults, but I would prefer the path with cracked bricks laid with good intentions than the iron road that paves straight into despair and devestation. I know my words will not sway you and your path so atleast consider this.
      By what right do you have to judge all life? By what measure are you Just and Impartial? What if you burn it all away, and you're wrong?@@ladyreed6094

    Personally I have often agreed with the sentiment that life is suffering. We are born, only to be told that death is inevitable. You will live your life and probably encounter incredible hardship. If you are lucky enough to not be born as one of the multitudes of peoples and creatures that are ground up in the gears of industry and war that feed us lucky few in the "developed" country, you will still face hardship.
    Spend years being "educated" on not just what to know, but what to think and how to think it. Take those years and spend them trying to secure a position that will now pay you in money for your time and labours, and pray that you were lucky enough to have been properly prepared to aim for a position of security and prosperity, the likes of which majority of us, even in the "developed" world will never know.
    Take the meagre fruits of your labour and time and use them to distract yourself from the distinct lack of meaning or purpose in your life. Gather friends, or at least seek them out so that you can comfort each other when forces so far beyond your pathetic reach conspire to crumble your little world around you.
    Chase your dreams, stumble, fall, only to rise again and repeat it over and over and over and over and over and over and over until one day you die. One way or another.
    I get it. I really do get it. Don't take what I'm saying as an attack on this belief - it's valid, to me at least to think this way. It's probably even Reasonable to think this.
    But nevertheless, better to have lived and lost, than to never have lived at all. To misquote someone wiser than me. I enjoy my life, lucky as I am. I won't tell you what joys I take comfort in - I'll force you to imagine what happiness I enjoy.
    But I am happy, most days. The suffering of life is worth it, for me. Because i have won the 20$ option in the lottery of life, to be born in a "developed" nation, away from starvation and conflict - mostly. To be graciously given the gift of being able to climb higher, rather than condemned to scrabbling in the dirt and refuse of luckier people.
    Which is why I find the frenzied flame ending so disagreeable. Not because I disagree with the notion. Merely the fact that Shabriri, Hyetta, and any other would-be bringer of the Lord of Frenzied Flame should even dare to lay claim to the decision in place of me.
    I don't remember giving you permission to make this decision for me. I don't remember handing over the reigns to you - who are you to tell me that my life is suffering enough to justify total annihilation.
    Cast YOURSELF into the flame, moth. Burn yourself away and leave us lucky fools to our meagre fortunes. The exit has always been there - don't try and shove ME through it.
    Were it only possible that I could stand guard in the Sewers - invading relentlessly the insane maniacs who would choose to destroy me and everything that makes my suffering worth it for their own ideological satisfaction. This world is not yours to destroy - it is ours.
    TLDR - Excellent video, much enjoyed.

No matter how much you burn this world, one day all things start anew. And when no one is alive, time is also unexistent. So the future of life is immediate, only you will have a moment of short peace. When even you pass away. The first conscious being is born immediatly.
