People still seemed confused by sharp turn but it's actually really easy. The tether shows where your boss is going to fly to. Look at the boss that is flying towards your group and look at the sword. Do not stand on the side of them that the sword is pointed towards. That's what he means by outside and inside the triangle. Pointing the sword to the outside of the room will cause an attack on that side of the line, and vice versa. Just like how they all dash when stacked together.
Did this on my WM last night night for the 1st even after watching a video I never died so much in any raid before this mother sucker. Humbling experience. Last 2 bosses weren't as bad I did way better on them.
I found it easier to look at the 10 or 30 on the screens for each pod rather than decipher line/hammer icons on the 3rd boss. 10s are lines, 30s are hammers.
Hey, Mr. Happy. You should try using the actual timestamp feature UA-cam added so the progress bar just has those timestamps and you can visually see it. Might be easier for you!
@@RainesamaXIV Nah, there's a way of placing actual chapter markers in youtube now. Means you can see the sections on the nav bar instead of just timestamps.

I feel like cutting your losses and taking one AOE vs dying while trying to get hit by none is a good general rule of thumb in this game that's often overlooked even by experienced players at times.
After having done this numerous times, I ran it tonight with some people from my FC. When we got to Sharp Turn, our unit held the sword to the left, so I told everyone to get inside triangle. We all died and I have no idea why .

For Sharp Turn, it definitely is just random whether or not they all use the same side or not. The first two times I did it they had swords in opposite hands so we had to stand in a specific quadrant of the circle which you only need your unit and the other unit coming your direction to determine. Kinda like Qitana Ravel first boss. Nice job as always!

Lower to average skilled players make the vast majority of (paying) characters in the game, and also gaming in general, and since the 24mans have story elements attached, they won't make it too difficult for this group of ppl as they learned back then with the "Coils of Bahamut"-raids when a lot of ppl wanted to see the story bits, but couldn't clear due to the sheer difficulty of it (it is said that coils normalback then can be compared to current savage fights)

Since then, lower and lower and lower, now you can wipe and all get ressed by a healer and carry on like nothings happened. A good healer can carry 7 bads.. It's sad
It kinda is, yeah, I myself am always feeling kinda underwhelmed in dungeons and normal trials, and I want to make the push to savage raiding once 5.4 hits to get a fresh feeling out of the game again.
I got destroyed last night on this raid didn't do to bad on the last 2 bosses. I had a real horrible time on 1at boss and 2nd boss even after watching a video. Way more insane these raids are than previous raids
not to mention most aoe are cones, so stick closer will generally put you in the larger safer spot, and the smaller aoe section of the attack to move out of
I never see them pointing the blade in or out of the triangle.. I only see the blade held in the right hand, or left hand. If it's the right hand, I stand behind out of the triangle. If it's the left hand I move into the triangle.

I have trouble with ALL mechanics in this game that look vaguely similar but require different action. Duties where there are 435873458734 unique mechanics with unique visual cues, np. All the guides are in essence saying "lol look at the sword placing/direction" and "lol look at the screens" for the R010 R030 part where there's just one safe zone. Triggers my PTSD from my school days lol.

Thanks for this guide. The final boss' line aoe prime blade confused me. It still got me even though I was off to her side, and I wasn't exactly near her either. So I assume that means the line aoe's hitbox is wider than her and starts closer to her body. Better to play it safe and stand behind her.
Today I encountered a weird safe spot for the Sharp Turn mechanic and now I don't know how it works anymore (I wonder if one of them had a sword in a different direction). XD I guess people have to look at all three of them and see where those swords are going to go since each does a divebomb type mechanic in the direction they're facing? But some folks seem to almost instantly know where to stand as soon as those bosses form the triangle, so I wonder if there's something I'm missing.
Sharp turn... I'm sorry, but the sword never looks like its pointing inside towards the triangle. It always looks like it's pointing outside. So I really don't understand this tell.
The triangle does criss-cross at random and it's not always later in the fight. It's quite rude. Don't get comfortable heading into the center at the start or such.
I've only done this like three times and it was pretty easy to pick up the mechs... EXCEPT THE TRIANGLE BLAST IN THE SECOND BOSS. Sharp turn. I have seen then point in different direction and I still don't get it.

Can the minions, cards, and orchestral rolls be won after receiving the one piece of gear? Relatively new player, so I'm just wondering the incentive to reclear more than once per week if we can only receive one loot item.
That's interesting! Did this in week one as well with random people. If I recall correctly there wasn't even a full wipe. Still, it felt utterly insane! A lot harder than the first one in my perception.
I think this one is easier to clear b/c there are no DPS checks via ultimate attacks (There were two for the First raid) so if there are screw-ups, you can recover. I do think this raid has mechanics that are harder to figure the first time around though compared to the first one with the bosses jumping around quite a bit and mechanics not quite as spelled out for you.
Fun raid, but the story still has nothing to do with FFXIV. Just Nier. I really wanted them to connect the 2 worlds lore wise in some way, but with the content being 2/3 done now I doubt they will. Still fun content though.

But even if you want to argue that they are the link between FF and Nier, the overall story is rather weak. Don't get me wrong, I think they raids are excellent. But compared to previous raids, I agree that the series so far feels a lot more disconnected from FF.
I only state this to hopefully bring awareness to the issue UA-cam creators may be facing when it comes to uploading the new content. Not too much of a big deal to me, as I am a small channel that I share with a friend just for fun. But a real shame for those who may come to watch the fight expecting to hear music only to hear silence during these epic fights!
Like in Yoko Taro fashion, it won't make any fucking sense until the third raid's finale (and even then, chronology and events are convoluted and flow intentionally weirdly so most people will miss it.) Even as a fan of Drakengard and Nier, the Automata-FFXIV crossover kind of sucks... but that might be because Nier: Automata is way less interesting than Nier: Gestalt/Replicant, and personally the Androids are the only really good part of the sequel, which isn't showing up too well here.

Really? It's pretty well received, might just be an aesthetic thing. If anything the bad thing about the Nier gear is the lack of variety and they all look kinda samey.
I actually like this raid compare to the last one which was full of crap. Aiming pants are cool looking. Maim/tank/striking body are all cool. Though I do have a complaint, Not a fan for them but wth are the hoods not Viera proof? The last raid had them working, but this raids doesn't, why? Wth with this inconstancy?

There's also a dps check in the first boss of the Puppet's Bunker with the adds but dps checks aren't usually hard in 24-mans anyway. I'd rather do the new raid over trying to stay awake during Void Ark any day but to each there own. ✌
@@Rollenstone There is the overarching point that generally the failed mechanics in the new raid have not real bite. It takes a great deal of incompetence to cause a wipe. It is also generally more recoverable because of it. Just because you have more interesting mechanics, in more rapid succession implemented does not make the fight harder. I've not seen raids give up on launch or days after like the previous Nier raid, or most of the other previous 24 man raids. This is the easiest raid to come at this skill level, at the moment of its launched.

Minions, cards, and rolls do not count against your "one piece of gear" per week. Notice how those three things are NOT gear.
