I would always recommend straddle over one leg but it's a matter of preferences and one leg progressions if well done are quite beneficial. Anyway, great content, pertinent, quite exhaustive and easy to get. That kind of exercice break down that makes the understanding simple suits perfectly your alias "easy" ;p. Great work Iris. Keep it up ♥
I agree, especially if you already got muscular dysbalances because of other sports you did before transitioning to calisthenics. Although to be fair, the one legged progression is a lot easier than straddle imo. That's why I also incorporate half-lay progressions in the front lever (not so much in the dragon flag).
Thank you! :) I believe the problem with straddle is the same one as with one leg, most people don't get how their hips have to be. But yes, I absolutely agree, it's a matter of preference mostly. I had better progress with one leg though! :)
Eugen danke!:) Dragon Flag hilft vor allem bei Frontlever, nachdem es generell mehr eine accessory Übung ist kannst du sie parallel zu den normalen Skill Progressions auch machen :)
Iris you're really my dream girl 😇 Iris you're soo sweet , kind and beautiful I like this video a lot , I found this really helpful Iris :) Thank you Iris...
Perfect! You said we should have your arm extended higher or further out on the anchor point to prevent injury. Can you elaborate? My upper back hurts every time lowering the body from the pressure against the ground. Is it normal? Thanks.
If your back hurts that’s a sign of warning. Make sure to always put a pillow below your back when you do them. That’s the number one reason why people have pain with dragon flags. The arm position for me just influences how my shoulder feels.
@@iris_easy Thank you very much Iris. I saw you doing the shoulder flag. Is that one harder to do than the DF. I want to try but don’t want to hurt my back. Your DF is perfect
depends on the progression. If you consider pullups aas calisthenics basics, dragon flags can be classified as basics as well. And they are certainly an absolute basic for any type of frontlever exercise and will help immensely. ;)
@@iris_easy question though i can do single leg dragon flags but as soon as i try to do the full df my feel alot of pressure in my back, is this bcus my core is still not strong enough?
@@chriswhitley1535 This might happen if you do it on the hard ground. Put a cushion underneath your back. For me it helped a lot. It might also help to grab the bar slightly higher or lower. :)
@@iris_easy in terms of difficulty dragonflag is intermediate/ advanced and a lot harder to do than pull ups. But if you mean by basic an exercise which is fundamental for others then I agree
Very nice video thanks
Great stuff, thanks! Will try this. Also, a handstand tutorial would be cool :)

One leg is only then not recommendable when tucking in the second leg fully to your belly

@@iris_easy definitely. But all in all, every skills in calisthenics is a big matter of girdle positioning, hip or shoulder.
Keep going dear

Sehr ausführlich und gut erklärt :)
Wenn die Dragon Flag sitzt, würdest du dann mit dem Front- oder Backlever beginnen?

Great video! Are you pulling hard with your arms or are you just using them for support?
Vishal kron not really - just a bit, normally when you learn it you need it more though :)
💪💪💰💰
What if our gym doesn't have a location to easily train dragon?? I'd love to try it!
Sofa or bed work quite well :) you can also use a vertical pole and grab it with your shoulder to the pole

@@iris_easy Thank you Iris, it looks painful for the neck.
@@dieu-huyentran5185 it’s more painful on the traps and the shoulders in my opinion 😄
The dragonflag is not a basic core exercise. It is an advanced core exercise.
