    Genetics loads the gun..lifestyle pulls the trigger. My mom lived till 104, I’m 84, still hiking with my daughters, feel grateful and blessed. Not the greatest knees, lol, due to a slip and fall, but use the hiking sticks, which works. Love Dr Sinclair’s work and book. Wishing everyone the best of health!

    Brilliant interview. My wife and I are following Dr. Sinclair's works. I'm closed to 60's and started taking NMN last year and got amazing results. We started record our anti-journey in our channel hope to spread out the message of Aging is treatable and the importance of extending healthspan. It's never too late to start.

    We all must consider aging as a disease..😠 We all must support Dr. David Sinclair and all other Scientists around the world who are trying really hard to reverse the aging process in humans.. This is a really interesting stuff going on all over the world..👍 Love from India..🙏

    I hope that in 20-30 years we will see the advent of cellular engineering, first of all gradually eliminating and reversing the aging factors. Eventually, we will be able to reverse and stabilize human biology at ~20 years old, perhaps completely so in 50 years from now. Although I feel current improvements are minor, I think that Dr. Sinclair is establishing some groundwork on that.
    Eventually we will have to revise social norms and regulations as this transitions to full genetic and epigenetic engineering at a cell-by-cell level in mature organisms. Perhaps in 100 years from now, it will start to mix with synthetic life components (which will be nothing like we understand by hardware nowadays). Natural evolution is a cruel mistress with random actions and incapable of fundamental redesign, it is a certainty that we shall have to supplant it (as without the cruel 2 out of 3 death rate from natural selection, current society would eventually and inevitably lead to genome degradation across the entire species).

    I love the work that you are doing Prof David Sinclair. I wish the world would be mote open to this kind of research & encourage you forward. Being a medical doctor first and holding a master’s degree in Healthy Aging makes me even more interested in this kind of research & I for sure would love to be a member of this group for sure..!!!

    While his analogy with Wright brothers might be true, imagine if every time we made a major breakthrough in aviation, the brothers got rejuvenated by 20, 30 or 40 years. Would they be able to live long enough to see humanity reaching another solar system?
    Maybe.
    Just because immortality might be centuries away, it doesn't mean we won't live long enough to reach it.

    People should not be concerned about population growth. People in poor conditions have many more children than people who are well off, as you can see by where most people on earth live and this a natural mechanism so when people are enjoying peace and health they will have less children, Sinclair is right it will level off

    David this presentation is great especially the part about the silliness (or perhaps better word nastiness) of academic medicine. In our view, to really address aging academic medicine is essentially obsolete. The fact that the TAME study with Nir took ~4 years to get going says it all.
    So you know, we are older than you. In our view, your eye program has potentially very serious flaws wherein your actual thesis is correct but will fail after years of work. With this said we’d like to connect with you.
    We are a big fan of what you are doing-to be clear. However discretion is important as you know.

    May I insert a caveat style amendment for the audience that to an extent it is wrong to call or view the as opposed to the nerves that run in the legs and arms etc., the cranial nerve no 1 (olfactory) and no 2 (optic) are not true peripheral nerves or central nervous system extensions and can be and should be seen as spinal cord type central nervous system tissue which vehemently resist repair and restoration in axonal damage, (MS type damages to CNS recovers due to its being limited to the myelin sheath). Therefore if there is regeneration of the first two (so called) cranial nerves then you are accomplishing a higher level outcome as opposed to the regular cranial or peripheral nerves which are well known to repair themselves spontaneously e.g. facial nerver palsies routinely recover.

    • @eruiluvatar236
      @eruiluvatar236 4 роки тому

      It will do the opposite! . NADH inhibits sirtuin action, NAD+ increases them. That is why they came up with NMN and NR as niacin or niacinamide would increase NADH.

    • @eruiluvatar236
      @eruiluvatar236 4 роки тому

      @@ruthhorowitz7522 The NADH is NAD+ with an extra Hydrogen so they are close but not the same molecule but you are correct in that the body keeps cycling between them as they transfer energy.
      I am uncertain on how that can be the case but Sinclair himself has stated that in other interviews.
      My own guess about a plausible mechanism is that NMN must turn into NAD+ first (that is a fact) and until that has been reduced to NADH won't be excreted while niacin, niacinamide or NADH could be excreted as they are (that is my guess).

    Can you cured insomnia with fasting?

    • @eruiluvatar236
      @eruiluvatar236 4 роки тому +2

      Hunger drives up noradrenaline and cortisol increasing wakefulness so it is harder to go to sleep while fasting. However in theory intermittent fasting could help if the eating window is allocated towards the afternoon as it would reinforce the natural noradrenaline and cortisol patterns of the circadian rhythm.
      But as an imsomniac that had done tons of fasting both intermittent and extended my experience is that it doesn't help, it only makes sleep even harder if hungry.
      The good news at least for me is that since David Sinclair himself had insomnia and said in several interviews that he uses blue blocking glasses and melatonin at night to help with it. I looked into it and there is science backing blue blocking (search for melanopsin) so I tried it and had been sleeping well for a year. Not any blue blocking glasses would do (there are a lot of scams), mine block 95% of blue and 50% of green and for maximum effectiveness I have to wear them for 4 hours but this days 2 hours would do and even some days I may not wear them and as my circadian rhythm is finally working I will still sleep but it will take a bit longer. I also take melatonin and it helps but was already taking it since almost 20 years ago and wasn't being enough.

      @@anngv1400 As I was broke I searched aliexpress for the cheapest ones that were still effective. They are no longer in stock but you should be able of finding them searching for blue blocker glasses and looking for the deep amber almost orange looking ones. The clear or slightly yellow ones don't filter enough.
      The ones I got did have a transmission spectrum in the pictures, searching "blue blocking glasses 95" results in several ones that seem to have the same lenses as mine.
      There are better ones though. Mine were just 4$ (now they seem to go for about 7) and they do work great but I wish they covered the peripheral vision too as that might make them work even better. I want to get some Uvex S1933X Skyper SCT-Orange or Uvex S0360X some time.

    David Thank you so much for everything you are doing for all of us, a question I have is, If you can reverse your age does that mean hair grows back and grey hait turms brown again ? Like we are obviously used to being impossible. I suppose at the time your test age was so much higher and you tried these drugs your hair was brown and the way it is today. I've been very ill a lot and I have lost my hair and it's grey , I feel very unfairly treated by life for that reason (Just being honest) but offcourse I want to move forward in life, Many Thanks >
