    Use razor to remove old sealant first, apply a consistent bead and spray wet sealant with soapy water solution and use a sealant tool to remove excess and then finally spray a mist onto finished sealant. There’s a right way and a wrong way. The way you have done it is definitely not the right way 😬

    • @Regirl75
      @Regirl75 4 роки тому +1

      I’m doing this soon when you say to spray a fine mist onto finished sealant is that the same soapy solution or are you using just distilled water? Help!

      Regirl75 spray some soapy water on the sealant when finished. There quite a lot of steps for this job but I think people underestimate how much you need to learn when in the renovation/decorating business. It’s doable with practice

      We arent naysayers, just people that know that all of that is totally wrong. I mean, for cryin out loud if he had read the package instructions, it tells you to push the caulk forward, not drag it backwards. WET paper towel or rag, NEVER dry. It will stick to the dry towel and smear the caulk. And it says that on the instructions as well!!

      Oh no need to use scissors or knife to cut the tip. That's what that little hole on the side of caulk gun by the trigger is for. If you look, when you squeeze the trigger, a blade pops up and snips off the tip.

To avoid this in any case possible caulking should be painted over.🎨👨‍🎨 PRO TIP: when you cut your caulk tube tip, make the hole barely larger than the majority of your cracks are. Most people don't even know thats a factor hence so much over pressing and mess going everywhere you don't need it. Less is more you can do a second pass if needed to keep a crisp clean overall look. Im not sure what school you went to but they done taught you wrong.. First you should have scraped that old garbage out. Then wiped the dirt off. Then you should cut the tip to the size of bead you want. Then while running the caulking gun yiu shouldn't pull the gun at a 45 degree angle and just pump random amounts then have to wipe most of it off. Keep the gun at a 90 degree angle and go smooth and steady letting the tip create the bead. Should be barely any clean up needed.

      My comment section is on. What i do know is it did last longer than a year. It’s still fine to this day. I still own that house and you clearly didn’t look at how many years ago I made that video. People like me try to offer a solution to others that might not have the means to afford professional services people like you just complain and talk trash while offering no assistance to the people. If you don’t have a solution, don’t have a video to help, don’t care about assisting others then be gone. You are dismissed. Well why aren’t you doing just that. K Lowe. At the time when I made this video I was doing the best I could as a new home owner trying to offer solutions to people like myself who at the time might not have had the means to make minor repairs. Do you have any videos trying to help others or are you just hear to join the band wagon of others bashing my attempts to help without offering solutions? It’s so easy for everyone to be negative and not offer any solutions. A lot of people are just negative individuals. It’s really sad. Furthermore it’s always people that just watch and don’t have any solutions. You could do better blind folded. Show me.
