Thanks for explaining the method. One observation...your method matches the outside points first and then you sew in the obverse direction (though your sewing direction is the obverse). For a first-timer like me, this paradox was a bit confusing. That is one of the problems with diamonds (for newcomers) is knowing what to match. Matching the end tips first so that the small overlap 'tip' occurs in the center naturally is the only clarification that would add for the spatially challenged such as myself. Once that seated in my brain, I am very comfortable with this method, and using it produced a terrific end result.
