How Princess Diana Met Prince Charles | The Crown - Full Scenes

In the 1980s, Elizabeth clashes with Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher while Prince Charles enters a tumultuous marriage with Lady Diana Spencer.
The actors chemistry gave me hope until I realized we can't change history 😔
As I was watching the show I literally found myself thinking “oh I hope they can work it out 🥺” like a fool
Heartbreaking 😞
Sammmeee!
oh yes :(
Exactly!
The writers were witty of including the scene where Charles broke his promise to Diana by telling her sister he met her. It may be a little detail but it was a red flag to viewers he isn't trustworthy.
Wohh I completely agree!!
He was NEVER trustworthy even Philip didn't trust him
I really think it shows how little regard he had for her, being younger, not to be taken seriously and respected... Red flag indeed!
i thought of the same thing toooo! that was the start of the red flag 😭😭
But didn't Diana do the same here? First promising her sister not to interfere to meet Charles, and doing it all the same?
They have alot of balls to have an attractive actor play him.
Lmao right
ikr Josh is way too attractive to play him
😂😂😂
😅🤣😂
Honestly, I hate prince charles with a passion but his actor is making me crush on him ahhhh
The biggest irony of our times: everyone on earth fell in love with Diana. Apart from her husband.
she's charming I even fell inlove with her she's so precious
Well it's hard to fall in love with someone, no matter how amazing they are, if you are truly in love with someone else in the first place.
He need her in that time, because children
And as sad as it is, it happens to so many....
I didn't even wanted him to fell for her all I wanted from him was to stand for her saved her from all this shit and set her free from the misery at atleast he owed her that much
She was 19 when she got into this mess. It’s crazy to think that I’m 19 and yet my life seem so simple. She deserved much more.
Actually 16
I’m only 19 as well and I’d rather be on my own in my life
@@tionne4945 she was 19 wehn she started dating charles, 20 when she married him
She was a naïve young girl with the mentality of a 14 year old. She believed in fairytales and happy ever after. She had no life experiences in comparison to Charles. Charles is an intellect and thinker Diana not so much. They were both incompatible from the start. Their grandmothers were friends and were behind setting Charles up with the naive school girl Diana in hopes that he would settle down and produce an heir. I’m sure he was intrigued by Diana and tried hard to love her and give her a good life.
@@glen7318 they met at 16, married dated when she was 18, and married when she was 19 (turning 20 that year).
Why are the royal insiders so critical of this season?? They are actually doing Prince charles a favor by casting a good looking actor to play him.
Come on! This season makes all of them look terrible. Charles in particular is played as almost a comic bad guy. A good example is the famous dance scene. In real life, the dance happened at a private party for trusties of Covent garden (centre for the arts in London). It was a yearly party and like a skit show where everyone got up and did an act. The year before Charles and Diana did a skit together - like a comedy routine. The next year Diana decided to do one herself. Secretly she contacted a famous ballet dancer and they did a surprise dance together. Charles was apparently upset, but only because he's been left out. But in the Crown they just play Charles being an asshole, embarrassed by his wife's display. Wouldn't it have been more interesting to play it more balanced? I mean, you could make the argument that Diana was being insensitive She has the time of her life onstage while her husband sits in the audience and watches, and she didn't even tell him she was doing it.
@@NoddyTron bruh if people think this season is making him look bad then imagine season 5.🤣
@@zahabiapancha5652 Haha I know right. Do you think they'll go all in and have Prince Phillip ordering the hit on Diana? lol

It was witty of the writers to include that scene; Showing red flag to viewers Charles isn't trustworthy

I want Diana to have her own mini-series. She deserves it.
Agreed!!! I want to see her entire life far more interested in Lady Di than Elizabeth II
@Mohammed Patel to be honest most people are watching this show only for this season because of Diana’s story
i dont think people started watching this show due to having an intrest in the british monarchy solely ....the show is extremely well made in all aspects ....i personally love it as it is excellent in showcasing how the crown affects the life of the people around the queen.....and also because peter morgan is a goddamn genius ....
Yeah and Emma should star it 💞
YES! A spin-off! I need it
I love the way they introduced her on screen- ephemeral, ethereal and graceful. Not just a lady, but a magical creature in control of her own fate.
"A magical creature in control of her own fate."

Everyone watching this scene: “RUN DIANA, RUN!”

@@Seek1878What do you mean?
@@PallaviDixit-kq9dl It was basically an arranged marriage in RL.
She gives off such a naive but strong and positive vibes that attracted Charles and also these qualities made him hate her later in life.
That’s the thing. People are attracted to the thing that’s different or special in a way, but when they have it they want to control and subdue it 😪😞
This! So often people find something really intriguing about you that's special to them, and this makes them interested. Then they soon realize those qualities actually annoy them and they were only drawn to you because you're so different from them and it made them curious. Curiousty does not always lead to love, and too often people confuse these things. @@hamesaraut7852 she liked Prince Charles but never tried to steal him from Sarah. Come on,sarah and Charles were not even dating.

@@josefinebliss2801 you described the story of my life.
Charles could only wish he was as charming as Josh, when he was younger...
Exactly! Josh has more charm, charisma, and endearing qualities-the Prince, has none of these! What Diana ever saw in him is a mystery, known only to herself. As disastrous as their marriage was, and it was...(a complete shit show) I do believe she was meant to be “Princess.” Diana made real impact and change within the Monarchy and to the nations of the world.
If that change was to happen and marring a frog 🐸 like Charles was the vehicle in which this magnificent woman was to “Shine” then I guess there was purpose in the pain-“Beauty from the Ashes”
If Charles could have only loved her, if he could have placed his needs, his selfishness aside and been faithfully committed to her (body, mind, soul and spirit-like his vows intended) he could have shared in the wonder of all they both had to offer as a couple. A divided heart: When your heart is committed, your world is together; but when it is divided, you are headed for trouble. (Unity is strength)
Right? The actor is so much more attractive than Charles back then

My thoughts exactly
I was thinking the same thing. I wish she had never married Charles because he treated her so terribly. But if she had never married him, the world may never had gotten to know her and be inspired by her, and there would be no Harry and William.
Completely agreed. She is true Queen of our hearts
@@margaretforsey7763 Hello. How are you doing?
@@wilsonwalker1181 Great!
The moment she met Charles, she's so innocent and still pure.
what is your point? is that Diana's attraction that she was a virgin?
This is not how they met. They met in a ploughed field at Althorpe.
God… she was like every little girls fairytale princess at one point. She was a cleaning lady and worked with kids and then married a prince. She was just so pure. So beautiful. I just wish she got her happily ever after. It’s heartbreaking. :(
I cried when she died because I was so little. I wanted to be like her when I grew up and marry one of her sons who I had a crush on but then after she died… it wasn’t real anymore.
Uhmmmmm she’s still a Spencer. Hardly a pleb.
Lmao she was no poor damsel in distress, she literally came from an aristocratic family close to the royals.
She had a heart like Cinderella (the real life Cinderella)
@@helloitsnabi She was no Cinderella. She was an extremely spoilt Aristocrat from one of the wealthiest Aristocratic families in England.
In every fairy tale the end line is "they lived happily after" but not with Princess Diana😢
He promises twice not to tell Dianas sister he saw her, but then tells her almost immediately! Unreliable and untrustworthy from the very start...
yes that what İ noticed too such an untrustworthy person ..😑
This scene is fiction 😉
@@valeriebehrendt9380 well duh, you can still analyse fiction smart alec
I mean on one hand, yes, you could say that and perhaps this is an interesting point to look into given their story. But the older sister was the one he was sort of in a relationship with, so if anything, at that point, I admired his transparency with Sarah who's the one he is supposed to be reliable and trustworthy with. Not that, obviously, he couldn't just say to Diana that he couldn't promise that and then that would have been fair to the both of them.
@@XxAmyKananxX yes that's a valid interpretation and I am not convinced that this moment was deliberately symbolic on the part of the writers, it may just be a coincidence. I just thought it was ironic given events to come.
Josh and Emma need to make a new project cuz they have so much chemistry
Yaaasss we need it
Unlike the real Charles and Diana
yes
ikr they have a lot even tho they tell them not to ,since charles was always treating her poorly
A JANE AUSTEN MOVIE. WE NEED A NEW SENSE AND SENSIBILITY MOVIE.
She was a sweet, innocent girl who married into a family she thought would make her happy. Instead, it was like a nightmare she couldn’t get away from: they neglected her, ignored her and made her feel alone and unsupported. The funny thing about the Royal Family is that they didn’t actually want a person. They wanted someone they can own, and possess, which was what Diana was to them.
true 😣
This is true I think she was severely underestimated. Like everyone assumed just because she had like housewife tendencies and was a non college educated virgin, that she wasn't going to come with her own ideas but she came in with Radical Empathy and a knowledge of modern humanity.
Sometimes I can’t help but think that Kate is also someone the royal family can own. And that’s sad.
So true! Like a pretty doll they can control. But Diana stuck to her beliefs, her boys, and got out!
That's true, she was kinda treated like a servant, just had to follow the British crown rules which were sad. I'm so sad, Josh and Emma made me wish that history could be changed, but that's not possible.
A Midsummer's Night's Dream is about people falling in love with the wrong person - perhaps a hint at Charles falling in love with Camila instead of Diana and Diana falling for Charles.
They casted Diana perfectly. This actress pays a beautiful tribute. And just as stunning as the real Diana.
If only this is not about the real life, their first meeting can really be romantic drama material. Josh and Emma need to star together again in another project(s). They have amazing chemistry.
Exactly josh & emma is chef’s kiss
This isnt how they met. The show is basically fiction based around some facts, as stated my makers themselves.

The fact that William was the best man of Camilla and Charles weddings was actually insane to me. If my dad cheated on my mother I could never be that involved with the wedding

I love this scene because it’s a metaphor for Diana. How shy and naturally charming she is. But how she was always desperately yearning for attention and love but her family both at birth and marriage shunted her to the side or her needs to be shut up and hidden.
Then although Charles promised he wouldn’t tell her sister she had been seen, how her sister wanted her to be invisible so that she would get Charles attention is a metaphor for her future. How her husband will betray her/ratted her out to her sister and how her family abandons her and wishes she would shut up her light and let attention shine on someone else.
⁹no
imagine this not as prince charles and princess diana
- my god , their chemistry is amazing
Charles should have been allowed to marry Camilla from the beginning and leave Diana alone. She would have had a chance to live a happy life without a man who would never love her
Charles' responsibility was to marry a woman who would be a good Princess of Wales and eventual Queen Consort, not just some chick who pleased him between the sheets.
Charles never intended to marry Camila at first. They were just a summer romance that only lasted a few months before Camila went back to her ex and marry him. Charles only realized he loves Camila when she is already married. If anything it is Camila's fault for going off to marry her ex the moment she and Charles broke up. If she truly love Charles why did she get married then?! Then the moment she heard Charled is dating Diana and might marry her she went to him and cheats on her husband and become Charles mistress. That's so fuck up. She did not even care about her own children.
Check his age & Camilla's at the time. She wouldn't have given him the healthy children Diana did.

I wonder how different her life would have been, away from the royal family, especially Charles. We might not have gotten to know her but she would have probably lived a much longer, a more happier and cheerful life.
I think despite of being a girl, everytime i see her face and listen to the things she had done, I fall in love with her.
So warm. So loving. So kind. Yet the worst luck one could have.
I'm glad at least her children got to spend a little time with her and will never forget their mother.
Though she wasn't the Queen but I think the world will remember her longer than some of the Queens in history.❤
"WHATEVER IN LOVE MEANS"...
OOF that was tough
@@tas64 it was exceptionally brutal!
i was LIKE WHATTT IS WRONG WITH YOU
When I heard Charles say that in the original interview - I knew that the relationship was DOOMED! I'm still sad at Diana's demise. I wish she could have lived a long life and enjoyed her children and grandchildren. :(
@@mtcampos1960 Me too she was only 19 poor girl. Her face after he said that says it all, what was he thinking!? Totally unfair for him to do that so publicly, she loved him very much, and she was the only one who unfortunately paid the ultimate price and never saw her children and grandkids grow up. May she rest in peace.
In all honesty, their chemistry is really exhilarating! I want them in a movie together.. So yeah, please let them reunite in a movie where they end up happily together! 😍
This scene hurts in ways i could never understand.. perhaps cause i know how it ends 😔
This is hands down the best season of The Crown!
I mean the writing, the acting, and the casting are top notch.
The fact that she had genuine feelings for Charles but Charles was half in and half out about her from what I can see in this series.
Both Emma and Josh are tremendous! They have the voices bang on! And their chemistry is brilliant, would love to see them star in something else together in future
I just love listening to her voice.
Imagine Camilla letting go Charles and not contact him several times when he dated young Diana and engagement with her... If there was an alternate life like this, I want to see how powerful this couple would be.
I don’t think Camilla is the sole party here. In an alternative world, Charles would be an actual man who sees Diana not as a broodmare but an actual partner.
@Julia Indeed, This is my thoughts exactly‼️ Charles grew up with a mother who was emotionally, affectionately and physically unavailable, his mother the Cold Queen was more devoted and present for her throne duties than her children.
Unfortunately it brings many brokenness and emotional distress to her children, they all have struggled with their relationship and marriage.
Charles was seeking after her mother love every time he was running to Camilla, she was feeding his emotional dependence and she knew it; Diana never had the same character than the Queen frozen, but Camilla on the other hand, she has too many things that ressemblance of Charles’s mother, that’s why he despises Diana, she was too weak, sensitive, sweet and fragile on his sight to appreciate her quality.
Because he never was familiar to this type of character which Diana was, but he was accustomed with the coldness, rigidity, hardness and toughness that both her mother and Camilla are.
So Charles was running after the shadow of her mother behind Camilla personality.
how powerful would they be??? THey didn't get on, found it hard to appreicate each other or tolerate each other's faults and quirks... had little in common
That doesn't make Charles deserving of diana. Why can't people see a bigger picture, this is more than just camilla. Even if they get rid of her, the problem is there. Charles isn't a good person, the cheating isn't the only problem
Thats true. He is a narcissist. A narcissist and an empathetic person will never suit
I like this version of them meeting together than the real life, giving me hope (sadly) and a bit of a beggining of a fairytale, almost like prince charming had found his princess
A Diana mini series would be awesome. This series is so well done.
I was literally screaming for Charles and Di to kiss throughout the season just because I wanted to see Josh and Emma kiss lmao. Their chemistry is so palpable.
Actually there's one scene when Diana is at the airport to send Charles off for trip abroad before the wedding & Charles kiss her in the cheek..and thats about it for the whole season 😂😀
There is a deleted scene where they kiss after he proposes to her but I can't find it 😞
@@stevethevirgoman they won't kiss in the next season as they are already separated.
Plus it's Dominic West and Elizabeth Debicki for the next season. So we will never see them kiss
@@zahabiapancha5652 yess ikr i saw that picture too before the show premiere, but maybe they delete it for some consideration, i don't know..
Me the ENTIRE TIME
He nailed the prince's voice wow
My question is: why did he persue her so much if from the beginning he was head over for Camila?
He couldn’t marry Camilla because she wasn’t a virgin... she couldn’t be the mother of the heir to the throne.
The Royal family saw a very good match in Diana since Charles couldn't marry Camilla at the time. Diana was related to many different royals, was Christian protestant and a virgin. They made sure Charles and Diana met at several engagements.
Also dont forget Lord Mountbatten's last words to him in the letter pushed him to follow duty and marry someone other than Camilla.
To shut his family up. The better question is, why did no one tell Diana this was a business agreement and not a love affair?
@@samiridgethevoice so she wouldn’t have love affairs outside of marriage, the illusion of love had to be there, so she would honor it they way they wanted her to. If it was strictly business then both her and Charles should’ve been free to pursue partners outside of marriage. Charles was the only one allowed to cheat in this marriage.
When she said, "Your royal highness" , he sized her up like a prey.
This was great, but Diana's beauty and charm was so exquisite, I don't think any actress could do her justice. She was the most photographed woman in the world and rarely if ever took a bad photo, and part of what intrigued the Prince, no doubt.
i need emma and josh to do a rom com or a jane austen film
It was never bound to work out. He was obsessed with Camilla, their age gap, she had some unresolved trauma from her childhood that she brought into their marriage, her bulimia, the media attention, Charles insecurity and his own upbringing all had a part. They produced two beautiful boys-that’s the only blessing they had from that marriage.
Exactly!! It’s all part of a tragic love story of an arranged marriage. I think that Diana’s family also played a part in it and no one can convince me otherwise. There was no real love in that marriage. Watch the real engagement interview there is a moment before Charles infamous statement, where she looked downcast and depressed.
@@lauraschoenborn3544 Nobody mad her marry Charles. her family weren't all that close to her in most ways. Of course they would like a memmber of their family to marry a prince but I see no evidence that she was pushed
You really nailed this casting, Netflix. Please let us see more of Emma Corrin going forward.
She will be back again in the movie My Policeman, alongside Harry Styles and David Dawson. It will release on the 6th of October in the theatres and on the 4th of November on Amazon Prime.
I wish she had never met him, if she had never met him she would still be alive today. He was only a disgrace in her life. Princess Diana was too good for him.
Simple yes.
I simply LOVE the music used in all the Charles/Diana scenes. So beautiful and melancholic
She nailed Diana's accent perfectly👌💯.
these actors are really good and have a great chemistry together
This is all a crock of shit. Where did they get all that information from. How can you believe all that
Yes I agree their accents a spot on
Little did she know that the cost of meeting him was her life
She should’ve stayed in the other room
He had nothing to do with her death. She died because of a car accident. If she had kept her RPOs and upt on her seat belt, she would have had a good chance of surviving.
@@glen7318 I was speaking in more of a figurative sense. After marrying him she developed bulimia and several psychological problems. She also had no privacy ever. Her marriage to him essentially sold her life to the public. Granted that she had her flaws as well, but she certainly would’ve been much happier had she never married him
@@DanA-10357 But she wanted to marry him. Im sure she had inklings that they werent that compatible but she stifled them. She was keen to marry him and was upset at Christmas only a few months after they started courting, that he had not proposed yet. Chalres warned hera nd Im sure others did, that marriage to a Royal would mean thtat she would lose a lot of her privacy.. but she was Ok with that
@@glen7318 She wanted to marry him but she had no idea that he would make fun of her weight or end up with Bullimia or continue to cheat on her. To act like she was 100% at fault is a flawed argument. He was a spoiled man and she was spoiled in her own way. There were definitely a few things he could’ve done from his end that could’ve prevented her misery, such as forgetting the tramp Camilla and realizing that it’s time to start acting like a man once you say “I do”
@@DanA-10357 nonsense. He didn't make fun of her weight, and if he cheated on her so did she. Accoridng to herself she was in love with Barry M from early on, because she and Charles were not really happy.
While she had such an unhappy life at home she gave so much of herself and was humble, selfless and brave as the royals tried to squash her kindness 🥰❤️
Everyone from Olivia (Elizabeth), Josh (Charles), Emma (Diana), Gillian (Thatcher), Helena (Margaret), Erin (Anne) and Tobiaz (Phillips) have done such a phenomenal job, for generations to come they’ll be the faces of these real characters in popular imagination. ❤️
❤❤❤❤❤
Fictional or not, we know how this ends. With 12yrs difference between them Charles, who’s been there done that, and, Diana, naive, innocent and beautiful, should never have been. Maybe her sister should fought for her and told him to leave her alone. Regardless, this was faith and hope for a better life with William and Harry. Wish Diana was still here! She’s still missed to this day 😔
The way her sister did not fight for them and called herself cupid after the engagement, and the fact that her family was around the BRF having movie nights with Andrew and Edward, growing up. Not to mention both sisters dated Charles. It kind of makes me suspicious that her family wanted to marry into the BRF for status. Also, there was a moment in the actual engagement interview where she looked downcast. Until asked if she was in love. Neither of their body language showed them in love. We know Charles felt pressured to marry her, I think it was the same for Diana.
@@lauraschoenborn3544 Not at all. Diana like lots of upper class girls was keen to date/ marry the Prince of Wales. He was the best match a girl of her class could get. Diana didn't have "moive night" with Andrew and Edward.. as a kid, living nearby, she played with them sometimes.. as might have been expected from a courtier's family and royal children who were near her own age.
It was so hard not to ship them knowing how it'll end 💔
I had the same opinion, I would love to see them in another series as romantic love interests. Josh and Emma have great chemistry.
Prince Charming turn to Prince Nightmare. Lets just hope one of Princess Diana's grandchildren will enherit her beautiful characteristics 💖
Omg...Anne boleyn captured Henry's heart the same way....
And both lost their life but their legacy will live forever through their children ❤️
Bro thinking the same thing
I was kind of confused about Sarah's presentation of Diana to Charles. I can't be the only one who thinks Sarah's actually trying to downplay her or something?
I mean I would probably also do that to protect my barley 18 sister from my 30 year old ex
@@Wheeeeeitsgoingon Of course, in today's world. I have a funny feeling it wasn’t like that back then.
She was... she did it out of jealousy
I don't think Sarah was jealous. Nothing came of her relationship with Charles. Years later she was quoted as saying that she was never in love with him and that if he'd proposed she would have said no because she wouldn't marry a man she didn't love whether he was a common dust man or the future King.
@@maryk446 why did she downplay her sister then?
She got her voice down 100%
This would've been rather cute if I didn't know how this story ended
I love how they threw into the scene how he betrayed her just moments after meeting her...
The actor playing prince Charles is quite good looking !
everytime they were somewhat happy together in a scene I cried because I know they won't have a happy ending, Emma and Josh were amazing, I will never forget this version of Diana
