Amazing little vehicle. Genuinely surprised that the little thing made it up the big hill at the end. Quite a steel grade and took it no bother. Found a little gem I think. Be happy to follow you on this journey.
I was stationed in Japan from1970 thru 1973. I owned a Suzuki Mini truck, and a Honda mini truck. I loved them both. They would go anywhere. Just 2 wheel drive, but tough little trucks.
Mike, I had an old Subaru Justy, and it had a 1.3l engine producing 50 HP, and it was a cast iron block 3 cylinder engine. I used tractor mufflers on it as the OEM was $80. It actually was quieter than the factory muffler. I miss that little car. I think I paid $24 for my mufflers. My car had 12" tires, and I wound up using commercial tires as replacement 12" car tires became rarer over time.

Hey Mr. festiva. I've been thoroughly entertained by your channel, and will look forward to the next video about your Suzuki Carry Kei truck. Looks like a lot of fun, and what helps is that you're so handy with doing all the work yourself. What makes this enjoyable is how you meticulously illustrate what you're doing, and you have lots of patience. I live in the Central Valley in Cali, and would to find a gem like this. I travel to Mexico, and I've seen a vehicle made by Hino, which I am trying to get. But for the time being, I'll keep looking at your channel. Thanks for your channel.
A very neat little truck. It looks like it is easy to work on, get's great gas economy, and just plain fun to drive. If I had one I would keep it until it rotted away.
Thanks 😊 I have been really enjoying this little truck! I’m really impressed with how good this machine does around my property, I bet a dump bed would be awesome to own. Take care
Not sure if you can compare a modern side by side's suspension to a 30 year old suzuki carry which was projected for city use and tiny tires. You could revise what you have on there, some lift kits are better than others although the 'hop' 'skip' i get in my one is down to the solid rear axle i believe - but i'm no expert. I do prefer it to a side by side any day!! I bought mine in Chile, a van version. Built it out with a couch/bed and hit the road. Crossed the atacama desert, up and over the Los Andes several times. Over 15,000 miles traveled around South America. Love it. Met my wife with it too! Its even got a name.. Bandito!
When I was young, I repaired many Japanese car engines such as this F6A, but I was surprised to see the video. As far as I can see the handling of the contributor Festiva, it is on par with a professional. You're not an ordinary person. The carburetor repair was professional as well. It's a rupture of the upper tank of the radiator, but maybe the thermostat is not normal. It may be good to remove it without using the thermostat.
OMG... so envious! I live in Thailand and I see these types of trucks and vans all the time-and I always WANT ONE! But it would just be impractical living in Bangkok. Thai drivers are flat-out nuts. BUT! If I ever move back to Washington I am buying one. I had no idea they came as 4x4’s! So cool! 😊👍
Tip. When I do timing belts. Make sure the Marks on the pulley, is in line were the belt can be marked. But do two lines as a reference point. Then one on the others. Transfer the lines to the new belt. And it works great. I'm really proud of you. You did good. Have fun in that thing and don't let people borrow it.
The longer you have it, more and more you're going to wonder how you did without one for so long. Love my '98 Daihatsu Hijet, it is fuel inj., 4x4, 5 spd., low and high range, diff-lock, w/air, and it had 27,000 kil. when purchased. It has absolutely no rust and it already had big rims and tires, I've put the timing belt, clutch, and a distributer (the weights came apart inside) . I have a little over 50,000 on it now, and I paid $5600 from an individual in KY. 7 years ago, hope you have as good luck as I have had.

Sounds like you most likely picked the right radiator, but something to keep in mind is I have one in mine out of the van version the previous owner installed that is probably 50% larger than the original, I have trouble getting heat in the winter and I even remove the fan during the cold months. Also the rack is a must! I've found that these truck are incredibly handy for light bulky loads from the hardware store, even better for it than my Ranger! With the exception of getting stuck talking to people about the truck on the way in and out 😆
Very cool lil truck. Seems like it should be useful for you. So what's going on with the Mini Pinz now? Like to see an update video on it. I know you still liked a few cosmetics and other things on it.

We tow the 'van with a Vauxhall Astra (GM) 1.8.... which is fine. However we do like to take green lanes, forest roads and 'chemin de exploitation' (farm tracks) and in a 2 wheel drive it can be a bit 'hairy'.... we SOOOO love to have one of these: the ultimate small bug - out vehicle. I think it'll be my next project. We can get them quite easily over here. Thanks again!! Best wishes from the UK...
