I'm not a fan of corporate media or letting billionaires tell me how to think. The 24 hour news cycle forces them to create news when there isn't enough to actually report on. It's a terrible business model for actually reporting the truth. We have capitalism to thank for that.
That being said, comparing CNN and MSNBC with FOX, OAN, and NEWSMAX is a false equivalence. Nobody on CNN or MSNBC had to use "No reasonable person should believe our commentary is true" as a legal defense. None of these are perfect by any means, but the right leaning networks rely on a number of tricks that are specifically designed to mislead their viewers. The other networks certainly make mistakes, but at least lying isn't their entire business model.

I hear a lot of the “anesthetizing security of stained glass windows” in this. Not your best work, HP. Seeking peace without recognizing why there was conflict will not result in a lasting peace. Treating that conflict as something in the past is a major mistake - far too many things still happening as we speak.

One thing that can help is that we, as Christians, should stop watching CNN, FOX, MSNBC, OAN, NEWSMAX, and anything else that instigate division.
