I’m not sure the Angstrom is the right amp for these. The sound is a bit shrill at times without much dynamics or sound staging. I listened to the Maxima Amator’s with a Pathos Kratos Integrated Hybrid. The SS amp coupled with a tube pre amp was so much more open, with depth, dynamics, bass and sweet mid range. Very different than what I’m hearing here.
You saw the portable Tascam digital audio recorder being used with its built-in microphones. This, and any UA-cam video attempting to portray the sound of any speaker is folly and could never be compared on any basis to what you heard live. Take it from a Maxima Amator owner. BTW, the Maxima is more amplifier agnostic than most speakers in their class.
Which one do you prefer Amators or Magico A1s ? What are the sonic differences between them? It would be great if you can record both speakers side by side playing same song
They have different sound signature, no doubt. Just one premise, they are both very well sounding speakers, both two ways with similar driver dimensions, at this level it's just a matter of personal preferences. A1 are very detailed and fast, they don't have bass reflex so the basses are tighter than SF, I think they're more on the absolute performance side. SF are still very detailed and dynamic, but probably a little bit richer in the mid so the sound is 'more' natural. Hopefully I'll find the time for shooting the video you're asking, stay tuned
@@distrettoaudio Thank you! So its "heart vs brain battle" :) btw I own Olympica II and I'm very pleased, but I've been thinking in the past if I should move to Magico's / Wilsson / Marten one day
@@celestial_sound how is the bass in your Olympica nova 2s? I have Dynaudio C1 Platinum which is a stand mount with 17 cm woofer and from the day I bought them I have been blown away by how much and the quality of bass these "little" speakers put out. Only asking because lately I've been wanting to try another brand, and Sonus Faber definitely have the looks! I noticed the Homage Tradition has been redesigned and although they realistically they are a bit out of reach financially, some day if I'm able to listen and afford they are certainly at the top of the list!
Fantastic video, I am lucky enough to be a Sonus Faber owner - from sound to looks I am a convert.
A perfect illustration of the silliness of buying a bookshelf speaker. I’ve never even seen one on a bookshelf.
Not sure what this video is about however you have many setup mistakes considering your room choice being the most significant.
Le Sonus Faber esteticamente non hanno rivali. Poi con quelle basi in marmo!
Eccellenza italiana
These sound fabulous. Have you tried the electa amator 3?
Unfortunalety I haven't had the pleasure
