I used to love looking at insects when I was a kid and I’d observe the same with the common housefly ... I would think this rubbing as similar ... but less evil, and more “... eureka! I’ve arrived at a huge food park!”
I hope it's a joke and you realize they use a tripod or some other equipment. I mean did so many people really believe a cameraman could keep his hands still for several minutes to create those sped-up shots. I hope not

This kinda thing is the very essence of "Ignorance is a Bliss". There's a time that I picked a fresh cabbage that have a clear sign of it being eaten from inside out, found some larvae and a roach. My grandfather just take the cabbage, wash it and make some salad out of it for lunch. All he said is that nobody will buy it despite it's a fine cabbage, and its better to eat it ourselves. Is it disgusting? Yes. Is it fine to eat? Like everything else, just clean it properly and it's fine. There's a lot more... gross example but I'll refrain from telling that.

I always wondered what those patterns were on some of my lettuce leaves. Good thing I threw out those sections of discolored patterns or I would have eaten some of these bugs.

I just realized the fly's ovipositor which looks looks like a mouth with teeth chewing when digging through the leaf.
