I love how honest you are in this video. I have IBS and deal with diarrhea on a pretty regular basis, and it's really refreshing to see someone else talking about it so openly and sharing tips. We need to not be embarrassed when talking about health issues and symptoms, even if they're often thought of as "gross". It's something people deal with, and something people need to not be afraid to talk about and ask for help.
I had endometriosis w/ IBS and diarrhea. Because we had decided not to have kids, I was eager to get a hysterectomy. When you get to that age, think about it...I no longer have any endo pain, AND I no longer have IBS. I had 5 laparoscopic and I laparotomy, but they never bowel prepped me before surgery, so when they found endo all over my bowels, they just left it. I suffered every time I had a bowel movement. So thankful to be in my early fifties and getting some relief. I've got other autoimmune disorders, but Endo just sucked. I'm sorry you have to deal with it! Best of luck to you!
Ooh! If you're someone with gastrointestinal problems, look at Poo Pourri and Unicorn Gold, which are before-you-go toilet sprays. You spray them over the toilet water and they trap an scents. Unicorn Gold is made by Squatty Potty, and both brands have HILARIOUS commercials but are super effective, still. Highly recommended.
Yes! I use a heating pad almost 24/7 for IBD pain, it is pretty much the only thing that is helping me while we try to get pain management in order. Gatorade is basically the only thing that’s stays down these days whether is vomiting or diarrhea it’s the only thing keeping me somewhat hydrated. Such a great video!! My shower chair is also a life saver cause I often pass out in the shower, it’s been so super helpful!
I have a dorm size refrigerator in my bedroom since my kitchen is downstairs and I live alone. I have Crohn's, chronic migraines, and now fighting osteomyelitis in my foot. I keep ice packs, cold towels, water, and Phenergan suppositories in there. It has been a life savor for me.
Great video! I just watched the travel essentials one. I have sickle cell anemia, so some stuff I can’t directly relate to, but the stuff about hydration, nutrition, aches, and poor circulation was totally helpful. I appreciate your candor and your upbeat attitude (on camera) it is a nice break to watch your videos and zone out
You are so right about the importance of good toilet tissue. I also have stomach and bowel issues and I understand. I like northern ultra tissue, and Pampers sensitive wipes. Ask your doctor for a prescription for procto foam. It is very soothing to a sore fanny 🔥
Girl- you are right! There truly is no substitute for good toilet paper when you have chronic tummy troubles. I also have unscented Cottonelle wipes that are flushable- I keep some at work, in both bathrooms at home, and in my bag :-) Thanks for being so open about it- nobody knows how many of us have this problem, because we don't talk about it! I also love the poo pourri. which I keep at work and at home too LOL.
Great video. Super informative. I need to do a video like this about Lupus. I have a good friend with POTS, so I will have to share this video and all your tips with her. A tip for you, smelling alcohol wipes (or just a little alcohol on a cotton ball to smell) really helps with nausea. As far as prescribed nausea medicine, the Zofran dissolvable tablets under the tongue are by far the best.
Hi Hannah! What a great video, thank you for making it! I just started dealing with POTS only in the past six months and it has been a roller coaster trying to figure out what does and does not work for me. One of the things that I drink in moderation is Vita Coco Coconut Water with Pineapple. This may not be something that works for your stomach, and admittedly I do not drink it when I am nauseous, but it helps me to replace a lot of potassium that is lost in taking Florinef. The taste is decent as well. I also use compression socks with some success when my legs are not hurting too much. This one's a little expensive, but I also have an 2.5 gallon AlexaPure water filter. I measured the amount for the cups I use and can easily track like those 1L bottles, only in my home. The filter also guarantees I am always drinking the cleanest water I can at (over the long term) cheap price. The only downside is that it has to be filled and 2.5 gallons of water comes out to about 20lbs. I know that's not much but when I am having a terrible POTS or hemochromatosis day, it's hard to do anything physical at all. Otherwise, it's a lifesaver. I completely agree with the Gatorade powder! We get the blue kind... it's super sweet (tasting... I don't think it really has more sugar than the other kinds)! :D I really appreciate all of your honesty in this video! It was very sincere and endearing.
Hello, fellow POTsie here. Thanks so much for this video! It was super helpful. I got my diagnosis with a shrug and was told to just drink more water and wear compression socks. So until I can find a good DR, I have been doing all my own research. I already have my massive container of powdered gatorade! I've been researching a shower chair. I've added quite a few items to my amazon wish list now to purchase later. I hope you're doing well, I subscribed! Thanks again!!!
heating pad, I couldn't live without it.... with my own chronic illness. Endo, I was so glad to go through menopause. It required surgery several times and I was SO HAPPY, to not have it anymore (it had scarred everything....). Now I have other chronic health issues, but so glad not to have that ONE anymore. Also a wheelchair is also lovely, I have a travel chair from amazon. I can't make it travel, but my husband can push me if we go someplace. A real wheelchair isn't needed as I can't push myself. I have a dear friend with POTS and she is just starting to track when she passes out. She was just diagnosed...
Hi Hannah, I'm new to your videos and really love the content you're making. I have POTS as well and was wondering if you could make a full video on your wheelchair and how it helps you when you get the chance/are feeling up to it. Hope all is well!
Hi, I am new to your channel, I also have IBS. However to make a long story short, I have to use diapers, however back to my point the baby wipes are great I use tranquility wipes as for the diaper rash which I know way to well, I use resinol. You can get both of them on Amazon the resinol works immediately, I cannot emphasize how much it works. As for the diarrhea, my doctor have me Loperamide 2 mg, this works really well at keeping it down to a soft bowl movement v. the runs all the time. Just something you may wish to look into. Thank you so much for your great video's!!
You should try the salt tablets called salt sticks! I would take 3-4 a day (not sure if you should that’s just what my doc said for my case) but they weren’t as hard on my stomach
Great video :) just wanted to say that Gatorade has so much refined sugar and excess chemicals that will really aggravate IBS! You can buy pure electrolytes that give you the same benefits as Gatorade and nourish your body instead of causing more inflammation (sugar and chemicals cause inflammation).
I really like a heatpatch called salonpas I cant use icy hot cause I end up getting chemical burns. And I loce bath and body works shower gels I just use them as bubble bath.
I was diagnosed with Vasovagal Syncope (Neurocardiogenic) and it sucks so much oh my gosh. Thermotabs have helped so freaking much you have no idea. Heat intolerant really sets me off big time into a crash as well as a bowel movement. Those are my main two triggers. Not sure if caffeine is also a trigger but I do know once im done working out with weights I feel so excruciatingly tired. But it's okay. Just glad I finally got diagnosed. I was told Gatorade as well but ehhh do you think it helps you a lot? I kinda wanna hop on and kinda don't want to.
Oh and Hannah, have you ever had or felt blood pool in your stomach? Like you feel super bloated, kinda like blood is just pooled in your stomach? Im having that issue too
I love my shower, it makes a night and day difference. Have you ever tried Cortisone cream in place of the baby wipes? I place some on toilet paper, and it makes a night and day difference. Also diffusing oils like lavender and eucalyptus makes life nice, when I have no energy for a bath.
I have c.diff too as a complication of all of my illnesses. So i can relate to going 20+ times a day for periods of time. Thank you for making this ❤ just subbed.
Ensure is my nemesis....the only kind I can drink is the pediasure chocolate ones...the butter pecan isn't horrible but I cannot stand any of the other flavors...and as for the rest I completely agree with everything, espiecally the baby wipes ( I have ulcerative colitis so I go up to 30 times a day during a flare up.soft toilet appear and baby wipes are a lifesaver) I also use the peniten cream ( it's in the baby section, marketed for diaper rash ) when I get really um sore from using the bathroom so much
Most days when I get up from a chair, or bend over for gardening and stand back up, i get so light headed, my heart races for maybe 10-20 seconds, and then it passes, does that sound like pots?
Yes, but you should definitely go to a doctor to get that checked out or make an appointment with a POTS specialist. You could also try doing what's called a "poor mans tilt table test" (google it) at home before you make an appointment. Hope this helps!
I reuse the “disposable” bottles. Clean, fill 1/3 and freeze...ready to be filled. But has to be a good brand like she has. Some of the companies claiming we are great-less plastic. Right, they just dont want you reusing them- they collapse👎
My travel heating pad link is in the description box of "My Chronic Illness Travel Essentials" video. My regular heating pad is just a king size one from target.
It stands for postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome. I'm not very good at explaining things but basically I have a very low blood volume and my autonomic nervous system doesn't work right so my heart has to work extra hard to pump my blood around since it will pool in my legs. If you google it I'm sure you'll get a better description hahaha
Have you ever thought about reusable toilet paper? It sounds gross but it's better for your bum. They are soft and you can wet them and use coconut oil and water as your own reusable baby wipes. They get cleaned great in your washing machine and dryer.
So young and pretty to have to endure so many health issues. Having good health seems more the exception than the rule. Modern medicine must be held responsible. We spend a fortune on healthcare but are sicker than ever. The system needs to change fundamentally.
To everyone reading this please turn to Jesus He Loves you and wants to save you, He is the God of miracles The bible tells us in Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, i seen God do amazing things in my life and in the lifes of people i know, He can do the same for you, In your darkest hour call on Him, God saved someone i love from an illness leading to death, There is nothing impossible to God, Its as simple as asking Jesus into your heart to be your personal Lord and Saviour, Jesus will answer you, i know this because it happened to me when i called out to God,
Pharmacies almost always have that flavor of ensure plus they are more expensive it so so worth it! Ensure plus is literally a lifesaver when my endo is acting up and I can’t eat a meal. They also have a off brand with the same taste and the same amount of calories and vitamins but a couple dollars cheaper!!
I love how honest you are in this video. I have IBS and deal with diarrhea on a pretty regular basis, and it's really refreshing to see someone else talking about it so openly and sharing tips. I know this is an old video. But girl, you own it. It's so hard to be open about illness, and you are amazing. Wishing you low pain days ❤

Omg I LOVE poo pouri! It's a total lifesaver!!
We have a product called VIPoo here 🙊
For baths for chronic body pain I have found that epsom salts, magnesium flakes and essential oils really help me.
Ooh thank you!!
Thanks for being so transparent. Your info is so helpful. God keep you Hannah

Omg that's so smart!! I need one now that I'm on tube feeds lol Thanks so much!!!

Thank you so much!! We're still fighting and in this together!!! Omg you're too sweet, it really means a lot!!!! 💕
I needed this video, I have IBS and it’s been a rough journey, I’m definitely gonna try some of these! Thank you for making this
Awesome! You're doing great!
You're helping so many people and giving them courage by giving "tmi" 😊 so don't worry about that! Keep on keeping on!
I love how your open about this topic. Stay strong❤️❤️
Thank you so much!

Hi Hannah I just wanted to say how inspiring and positive you are! I only recently discovered you on UA-cam but you are amazing xx
You are so sweet! Thank you so much! It means a lot!!!!

I love this video so much. It makes me feel less alone. Now I wish I would take baths though
Great and informative video . I suffer from IBS and digestion issues.
Thank you!!!! IBS is the worst, I'm so sorry you're going through it as well but you are not alone! 💗💗
I use a kids step stool when I go number two.
Finally a heat pad big enough! I thought mine was the biggest. Now to hunt it down in Australia.
Hi fellow aussie...did u find one? I'm on the hunt too.
You should try the salt tablets called salt sticks! I would take 3-4 a day (not sure if you should that’s just what my doc said for my case) but they weren’t as hard on my stomach
Saw you on Inside Edition, I went to find your channel, and I subscribed ❤️❤️❤️
yoo i aint knew butter pecan ensures existed i been stomaching vanilla ones for months-i’ll definitely look for those next time
doterra is the essential oil I use. Safe on my skin and helps me with my cyclic vomiting syndrome.
Thanks so much! I'll check it out!

I have the same shower chair and I love 💕 it.
Dark chocolate is also a good ensure flavor also pouring them over ice it better too

Curious how you are able to take baths with pots? I have pots too and being in a hot bath makes my heart race.
I have to be VERY careful as baths make my POTS symptoms insane, but they help so much with my chronic pain I'm not willing to give them up.
I love my shower, it makes a night and day difference. Have you ever tried Cortisone cream in place of the baby wipes? I place some on toilet paper, and it makes a night and day difference. Also diffusing oils like lavender and eucalyptus makes life nice, when I have no energy for a bath.

Great video
I have c.diff too as a complication of all of my illnesses. So i can relate to going 20+ times a day for periods of time. Thank you for making this ❤ just subbed.
I'm so sorry you have to go through all of that. It's awful!! Thank you so much! 💕
Highly recommend a sports drink called Body Armor
Excellent content! Thank you. Xxx

Boost tastes much better than ensure and was recommended by my nutritionists if you want a good chocolate one hugs Hannah I have endo too it sucks
Does the butter pecan Ensure have actually pecans in it?
Nope! I'm anaphylactic to nuts and I've checked so many times in fear hahaha but everything in it is artificially flavored.
Have you tried Kleenex Cottonelle toilet wipes...they’re a lifesaver to me & they’re flushable!?
No I haven't! I'll look for them!!
Wow u look alot different. The illness has taken a toll on u God .have mercy.
YoungLiving essential oils are the best and they can help you they are safe to use on your skin and you can digest them. 😊😊😊
I mean even if it helps I really don't think it's worth supporting the CEO
can u send me the heating pad link for travelling needs i suffer three chronic illnesses.
Endo,PCOS, and possibly Adenomyosis.
My travel heating pad link is in the description box of "My Chronic Illness Travel Essentials" video. My regular heating pad is just a king size one from target.
Squatty potty’s are awesome! That and powdered Gatorade, I’m with ya!
Cool
What is pots

I like how all of these tips are just "even though it's expensive, buy it". I wish that was an option for everyone...
I get that, especially with the toilet paper. That really adds up. I love the Meijer brand version which is definitely cheaper than name brand.
Good job 👍👏👏 👏 girl

Girl why isn't your insurance paying for your wheelchair & shower chair?
Are you going to get surgery on the whole in your heart?
Not at this time, it's stable enough I don't need it! It could change in the future however.
I am in love with you hannah, please reply me, wheather you are active on instagram or not. I don't care what you are because I am in love with you
