I'm 22 and I still sleep with a stuffed animal, and one time when I had to go to the ER, I took him and in the ambulance, the EMTs gave him a babies oxygen mask when I had one. They were so sweet

I have a hospital bag too! It's already half-packed. I have a list taped to my desk for my hospital bag. On that list is: electric toothbrush, charger & toothpaste; earplugs; meds for a day; underwear; socks; deodorant; hairbrush; phone & charger; book to read; notebook & pen; medical folder (with all my results); teabags (like green tea and chamomile); pyjamas; jumper (sweater); earphones; ipod; pads; aloe vera tissues (hospital ones are rough); a tangible puzzle; Nebo (he's a little plush wombat); list of my conditions; list of medications; list of my doctors & contacts; mouthwash; wallet; appointment diary; pillow; sunglasses (for those migraines while being stuck under bright hospital lights).

I LOVE TERRY. Now I want to get a medical bear :) I'm getting a port Tuesday morning! I know that you have one now too (now I'm second guessing that by saying I "know" it even though you totally do...), and curious to see if you did something for him for that! Finally catching up on all of your vlogs after following you on Instagram for over a year or so haha!

Just to let you know that I am 30 something and I always take a couple of teddies & eeyore when I am in the hospital. I also like having the teddies with me cause it makes other people & children smile while they are waiting to be seen plus it helps me to understand what they are going to do if they do it to eeyore before they do it to me so don't be ashamed to have teddies with you i also take a teddy out wherever I go even if it is only for a ride out in my wheelchair. I was wondering who did you go to see to get diagnosed with EDS as I think that I might have it but in the UK not many people have heard of it so I don't know who to ask about seeing if I have EDS if you have any information about trying to get diagnosed I would be grateful for any information please? Thankyou your video's have really helped me alot. Take care. Xxx

kelli shone I’m in the UK - (North West) and I was told that I had Rheumatoid Arthritis and took meds for that for YEARS! ...but while I was there I was told that they thought I had EDS as I was so hypermobile, but it wasn’t put in my notes.
I got really scared of hospitals (fell there one time and was on the floor for over an hour) and doctors, as I always had a horrible time and was told (by a heroin addict) that my meds were the same as heroin so weaned myself off most of my pain meds (...long story!), and learned how to put bones back in place (...another long story!).
I wasn’t able to self treat everything, so (was sent, without my consent in an ambulance THAT ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE YOUR WHEELCHAIR even though I’m not weight bearing!) for more tortures in A&E (argh - one time I was laid flat and they put my hands above my head even though I said I can’t do that, for a cat scan and a shoulder came out and they wouldn’t help me AT ALL and I couldn’t get off the machine and the staff just disappeared). After that I asked for EDS to get put on my notes - was told - yeah I think you have it but I’m not going to diagnose you with it, it’s only a name!
Two more horrible A&E visits and I saw a different GP and DEMANDED to either be diagnosed or for them to explain why my body was in so much pain and kept falling apart.
He found there was nothing in the north west so I was sent to the north east to see a geneticist and he did the exact same tests as all the other doctors and told me in less than five minutes I had it!!! (So has my siblings, and also my dad died aged 46 and grandma at 34, both of aortic aneurysms).
So to answer your question - expect it to take a long time, keep asking and avoid A&E! - Billie

I have a stuffed monkey named Frances. I got him when I had my knee replaced(he's named after the hospital I was in, ST Francis hospital) . I was 36 years old when my husbands and daughters bought him for me. He's one of my biggest comforts. (I'm 46 now. My dad started joking with me when I was kid saying the bugs bunny line of " I'm only 3 and a half years old" because I look much younger than I am and I've always had a special "lovey/stuffed animal when I go to the hospital) There's nothing wrong with having a lovely/stuffed animal for comfort. I will have one probably till the day I die even if I'm 110 years old.
My to go bag always has snacks and drinks so if I'm allowed to eat or drink I have them and so my husband and daughters can have them if they need them. It saves money since hospital vending machines and cafeteria's can be pricey. I also take a book. It helps give me something to do other than watch tv.

First - I love your bear! It's not childish. I had my teddy around still until just recently, even after becoming a parent and marriage. It's a comfort thing for sure.
As for me, I don't have a go bag but I do keep prepared in case I hit something unforseen and can't get home. 4 days of medications plus some extra otc, all my needed creams and topicals, the braces I use most often, phone charger, headphones, a few essential oils and my "as needed" meds. Plus my every day medical kit!

    My er-go-bag is very similar...
but I have to pack SNACKS!! I’ve ended up in ER’s before that couldn’t meet all of my allergy needs, so I try to be prepared for that.
And I love that you have Terry! I get such funny looks whenever I show up with my tinerbell blanket and Miss Kitty but... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
    Oh!..and some other essentials:
    - lotion, chapstick, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.
    - extra VogMask
    - ample amounts of puke bags
    - my medical binder w/my important records

I used to never have a hospital go bag but since I have got to sick in the past 8 months( I certainly wasn't well before but my health has plummeted further) and my hospital admissions have significantly increased I finally have a go bag. I used to go to the ER a lot more often but now I only go if I am told to by a doctor or if I know I am going to be admitted. When I go to the ER and I have a hunch I am going to be admitted, I wear yoga pants, a comfy shirt, and a jacket or sweater, and I bring my phone and a phone charger. I keep my hospital go bag at home and if I am admitted my dad brings it to me the next day after work. I keep two shirts, two pairs of pants, fuzzy socks, underwear, a laptop, headphones, and some toiletries items. I don't like to bring it into the ER because I don't like being presumptive I will admitted even if I know I am. I actually had my first ever direct admit last month for a central line infection (the joys of being TPN dependent) and I actually packet a good bag instead, they called me when my bed was ready, then we drove to the hospital, and I went straight back to a room. I still go to a childrens hospital even though I am 18 and a half because my case is so complex and I am still in the process of changing to adult doctors, so I am still getting the children's hospital experience.

My ER bag consists of my Nintendo Switch(used to be 3DS), my phone, headphones, 10ft long chargers, my X-Men blanket(I'm 26 and I'm not ashamed to admit I still sleep with it even if I do get weird looks sometimes), my pills(I have the same pill organizer), and a few bottles of water(because I am a water snob and my ER only has spring water). My admission bag normally has clothes, my laptop with mouse so I can play games, at least 6 bottles of water, various snacks if I can eat, and a few books/comic books.

I should have done this when I went to the hospital. I don't have those issues but I had to go to the hospital because something was wrong with my leg. It took hours before I could even eat and even longer till I could go home..we left sometime after school and were there probably till midnight. I hated it in my mind I kept saying "I want to go home I don't want to be here! Please someone... anyone..." . I tend to get home sick and when I get home sick I get stressed. It probably would have gone better if I brought some of my stuff from home so I wouldn't have gotten home sick. Well if this happens again (hopefully it doesn't) I'll remember this. But I luckily didn't have school the next day because I wouldn't have stayed awake
