HI Jude, The Grenadier is perfect for Australia. I guess value is in the eye of the beholder. IF, and I do mean IF the Grenadier proves to be as reliable and rugged as they are aspiring it to be it'll hard to do a value comparison across anything else offered in Australia. The closest thing to the Grenadier would probably be 79 series LC but that only comes as a manual. I'm absolutely going to order one as soon as they become available here in Aus. My only concern will be with the availablility of parts such as windscreens - which are nothing to do with the build and engineering quality of the car but more to do with breakages resulting flicked up stones from passing traffic. I've rarely done a trip into the Pilbara or Kimberley where I didn't come away with a huge stone chip or other damage requiring an immediate windscreen replacement. However, even this problem can be mitigated by ordering a spare windscreen in advance and storing it with a logistics onforwarder who can then send it to any windscreen repairer anywhere you are in Australia.
At last a company that listens to its customers and designs an interior that is crisp, easy to use, and makes the vehicle feel like a vehicle used to feel! Not everyone wants luxury but this has enough to remind you it exists while you work! Can’t wait to get my hands on that steering wheel and toot my way to work !!
wow a faultless interior, finally a company that listens to its customers and their needs, while still adding ideas of their own. With what i've seen, the grenadier will surpass the prestige of the g class and the defender... all hail the grenadier!

ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!..... Finally a vehicle manufacturer prioritising user functionality over form. There's going to be a bucket load of 2nd hand Defenders & Discovery 2, 3's & 4's hit the market when this thing lands!
I am not a typical "car" guy. I own a D90 that we overland in (kids and I) and use a 7.3 excursion for hauling the travel trailer around for long haul wrestling tournaments. We have considered a GX for a daily driver to replace the aged Yukon we have owned for ten years. The Grenadier is absolutely the first vehicle in ages that I will buy new. It has engineering soul that new vehicles have sold off and left the market with rebadged clones. Marvelous job. I am honestly stunned.
Fantastic interior. Also, as an ex pro and lifelong cyclist, I can't thank you enough for the nod to cycling safety with the toot button. The mere fact that you're thinking about cycling safety is just huge. Chapeau Grenadier.
I am at Land Rover. I just showed the Service team the Grenadier and they are going crazy! I am ordering. I can't wait! Everything you want this to be, it is. I love that they are giving the customer a blank sheet!
I would call this "stunningly rugged"! I'm a fan of Recaro so it was great to see the seats being made by them. LOVE that cockpit style switch panel up and out of the way. All credit to Toby and his team! Oh and the steering wheel... I'd buy it just for that. Absolutely well done guys.
The best offroader yet to come that can be used all over the world. Best Engine and Transmission Partner possible. The BMW 6-cyl is perfect for everthing you need! Hopfeully normal priced to be purchased! I can't wait for it!
That is quite possibly the best looking interior I have ever seen, I like the keyed ignition, the toot button is brilliant and I have wanted one many times in my other vehicles and the prewired aux’s are an outstanding touch. Can’t wait to get one!
As a 110 owner ex-army you cannot get anything more basic as a Defender, I have watch the Grenadier grow from day one, each step is like a child being born you cannot wait for it to arrive, today the Grenadier is born and I approve of what I see, the layout, balance of the switch gear and the think of what is needed or not hits the right note, only one problem, I will never be able to afford one, but that is what dreams are made of, well done INEOS Automotive, I tip my cap to you. JLR, you have dropped the ball here on this one again, need to protect your design next time, you know what I am talking about JLR. lol
One of the most creative interior designs i have ever seen to come in a production 4wd. I love the recaro seats and have had a sets over the years in my cars , in fact I have a set in my 1969 gts holden monaro coupe.
Really knocked it out of the park. Clearly a *little* fun was had with the switches, while still keeping it utilitarian and extensible. Love the "personal" touch of the steering wheel, and that you stayed away from the faux metal / faux wood. Great that you kept the comfort electronics to a minimum. All around well done!
Fantastic interior design!. The aeroplane inspired bolt on cockpit design is brilliant. In the same way you can upgrade a 1980 Cessna’s cockpit to be relevant for today, you will probably be able to upgrade your Grenadier in 30 years time. That’s EXCELLENT!!
We are glad not to disappoint! More information to follow but the starting specification includes everything you need. Look forward to seeing your video on our interior and come say hello at Goodwood!
@@INEOSGrenadier brilliant interior 👏👏, a true barebones basic model would be ideal for farmers and work men/women who don't need electronics in it's cab, just an affordable, simple and reliable machine
Will, they've certainly nailed things!. If you've never experienced industrial Recaro seats over the dreadful old Defender squabs, what's left of your lumbar regions should be in for a treat. They'd be insane not to issue one to you for six months to evaluate along with Mr ASPW! I suspect you won't need your recently reported 300 TDI personal soundproofing either !
I really hope we get that car available in Switzerland around early 2023! I'll for 100% get that beauty for hunting and fishing! This car is just a dream! Please make it happen:)
Nice to see the steering wheel on the correct side :-) As a D4 driver…I’ve been watching this progress closely…I think the boys (and the banana in a cravat) in Solihull will be a little more scared now.
This should have been a Land Rover YT channel talking about the new Defender. Instead, they've decided to make a next gen Disco... Great job guys! I hope you'll succeed and influence bigger manufacturers as well.
My dream is to have a key that can get wet while kayaking and still open the car door and insert in the ignition without damaging any other components if it's still wet. Another option is a waterproof fob that can tuck into the wetsuit sleeve that then opens the door by it's proximity and you can drive away via a push button start. Land Rover's Discovery "bracelet" has a few of these features I think. I'm loving the Ineos reveal videos, thanks for posting 🙏🏻😁
At first glance, I wasn’t sure about the dashboard, but when you see the video and its explained, I love it, practical, well thought out and i like the “too” function of the horn.

I reckon a leather gaitor over the gear lever to match the steering wheel and handbrake, with the emblems embossed into the leather. Cheap fix that matches the rest, if re-engineering it is too expensive.

Looks incredible. Congrats to Ineos, Toby and the whole team. Just the Ducks Nuts as we would say. When are first delivering planned for Oz? Interesting that there is no gauge cluster in front of the driver - will aid visibility, especially offroad. Centre vents remind me of MB W461 and even tads of the Alfa 164. This is SO cool.
Love the unique saddle leather steering wheel. The same theme can be taken down to your own fingerprinted gearshift and shiny piano panelling. Exposed bolts on the door panels will better compliment the rugged nature of the centre consul.
I was lucky enough to get a shotgun ride at Hanging Rock in Victoria the other day. Awesome 4x4 even in the 2B prototype. I think if the configuration of the rear seat could be changed to 30/40/30 (similar) so you could take out the 40 to pop your car fridge in the middle would be awesome, especially for the Australian market. You could even pop a bike in the gap without having to take off both wheels. Can't wait to order now.
Just what you need and nothing of what you don't. Toby seemed a little nervous like any artist showing work for the first time well you smashed this one . Can we please have more details about the 240v power and the RED winch fit will it have dual batteries for winch 240v power module.
I think the interior looks great. A really sensible but also out-the-box approach, by the look of it. And those Recaros!
I knew you would compliment those wonderful Recaro seats Andrew!! I saw them and thought ASPW 😂 @4xoverland
Only concern is that BMW engine Andrew and the companies philosophy as to why not offering a manual. Messaged you about it on LinkedIN 😜
