Daniel Robertson You didn't get my point. There are 4WD versions of Mercedes cars too (I've got one). If the intent is to see which car is better than the other, then compare the 2WD versions against each other, or the 4WD versions against each other.
But if you were to pit both cars in more favourable conditions at a track, the merc would edge out. But let's face it, who in their right mind would take these cars to the track? lol
DSA Music ofcourse, on the track that's true but i tought u meant the real world where most of the people that have the money for these cars just love you show of with them and not really do Trackdays
Such a great track to drive or ride on, but with Cadwells mini weather trap, those conditions would always favour the Audi. I'm sure as Tiff suggested the C63 would be quickest in the dry. What I'd choose? I've no idea to be honest, I love them both for different reasons. It's like asking if you want two fivers or a tenner
The Audi spanked the C63 on the Nurburgring ring by quite a margin under the best conditions possible for both cars. Even the Audi would grip better and put a better time down in the dry. The C63 would have a big advantage on a track with fewer tight corners.
I love Fifth Gear reviews, but it seems like they are always running on the track when its wet. Tough to get a real evaluation of the car's performance when so much traction is lost.
dizzzave357 I think what theyre doing is not actually a review like what others do. More of just like having fun with the car just like what Top Gear do.
It was clear that Quatro going to win on this quite tight and moisture tack - the big question is much different: Do you need a second faster car or the trilling joyful driving car... I'll take the joy
I have one and you're right, at lower rpm the 'shove' isn't as strong as you'd want. The engine is designed to be revved out like a k20 Honda engine, all the power is at the top end hence the 8300rpm red line.
I have the joy of driving both as my partner has the C63 and I sometimes drive her car. The Audi does need more revs even driving normally but it doesn’t feel slow. Despite requiring more revs it gets there so effortlessly that it’s much of a muchness. I change gear at 4000 rpm whereas I’d probably only need to at 2000-3000 rpm in the C63, but the Audi still gets to 4000 rpm with equal effort. It just loves to rev.
Idk how big of the difference is, but the S5 is definitely one of the worst cars i've driven. The V8 might have a cool sound, but the steering wheel is quite feelingless and the car is very understeery.
The Audi will always be more beautiful, more comfortable, dominates in poor weather conditions, and will keep you alive longer at the same time. All wins. Who wants to end up on the epic fail youtube crush videos???
In December 2020 (almost 2021) the Audi has mostly been forgotten, whilst the c63 has become very desirable, collectible and definitely a future classic.
I had both. The RS5 needs to become a classic one day because the sound is incredible from the inside, never had a car where it sounds inside just like outside, super loud and the rev limit was awesome. But theres a reason AMGs are more desirable than Ms oder RS. If you drive the old 6.2 ... you won't even need a explanation. I don't know any more violent and characteristic engine. The Overrun Crackle, the slow gearbox which builds a absolutely uncomfortable pressure which kicks you back in the seat and makes you want to let the pedal go before reaching the speed that you wanted to reach or the damn gigantic torque from down low. For you americans : the 6.2 AMG engine is more like a Blower Big Block V8 with shittons of torque and a beast. And the RS5 V8 is more like a Camaro SS 2016 Engine with added revs to 8200 rpm. But it lacks low down torque and is not even remotely as violent as the amg.
Except for one thing… the launch control on the Audi is quite violent. It’s a different beast when launch mode is engaged and it’s a shame you can’t access that engine and transmission map without having to use the launch control feature.
2022 and I've just bought an RS5. It's lovely.
Cause it still looks fucking beautiful god it aged so gracefully
They’re such a hoot. My partner has the C63 and I drive her car sometimes. Both are wonderful in different ways but I do prefer the Audi.
Both cars are great, but I prefer the Merc, it's agressive and has a powerful growling engine
I would still have the merc
Cameron your choice .
Cameron hell ya
I bought a W204 C63 this year. Such an amazing car.
2019, I still want a C63 coupe.
All day, the CL AMG wraparound sharp angled teardrop taillights and rear ¾ view always made the car for me a
Only gay people go for c63
@@alangonzalez5442 good one
Comparing a 4WD car against a 2WD car in the wet ... I wonder how that'll go.
Alien OrSutin in the U.K. The roads are greasy and wet all year so it's a very fair real world example.
Daniel Robertson You didn't get my point. There are 4WD versions of Mercedes cars too (I've got one). If the intent is to see which car is better than the other, then compare the 2WD versions against each other, or the 4WD versions against each other.
Alien OrSutin but there wasn't a 4wd c63 amg in the UK
Yeah the RS5 might’ve even gone round quicker than the M3 in these conditions
Alien OrSutin i dont think there is RS5 which is 2WD
i think everybody knew that the quatro is faster but most of the people still prefer the merc
I prefer the looks of the 2009 Mercedes C63 AMG to be honest
Before it had the facelift in 2011
Jack Mayall same
Jack Mayall
Why?
@@jgripen969 i liked he round fog lights better then the led bars they have on the bottom on the facelift version as we just saw
c63 💪💪
In the real world though, as much as I am an Audi fan, the Merc would win
In the real world you would in both cars be doing the 50mph speed limit.
In the real world it rains and most highways are limited to 130 so id take the 4wd with less torque but faster acceleration off the lights
DEFIANT71DEFIANT I'd take the tenner cause it's the more powerful note and bigger number so guess that means I'd take the merc
The Audi spanked the C63 on the Nurburgring ring by quite a margin under the best conditions possible for both cars. Even the Audi would grip better and put a better time down in the dry. The C63 would have a big advantage on a track with fewer tight corners.
I miss Fifth Gear ☹️
The RS5 is a dream car 🤫😍
He probably could’ve gone quicker in the RS5 if he’d bothered to put it into Dynamic mode.
Yes, dynamic changes the characteristics of the engine, gearbox and differentials… considerably.
Fifth gears logo is a 4 speed?
fancrawller Its 5 speed. Doesnt have reverse. Thats why they dont drive cars on reverse.
Fifth gear is what Top Gear stopped being at around 2013
Tiff is the greatest!
Well it IS the UK...
Audi have always "excelled" at making understated superfast cars. This makes it all the more surprising when they came up with the R8 and the TTRS.
Can you drift an AWD vehicle like the WRX, or Evo? and which tires do you recommend
No ,Evo has clever diffs and electronically controled yaw g-meter.
that merc engine is the dogs bollocks
why is it so dark and bad video quality.
***** same but it just seems like they have really crappy lighting or like they're reuploading an early 2000s documentary
We need more Tiff and more new fifth gear now that the grand tour is popular again
w204 is the best!
Love my C63
I love C63 to bits :(
Today I was gonna buy oranges but Apples were cheaper so I end up buying Apples... Thanks to 5th Gear!
what are you doing with the camera all over the place and blurry bad quality video?? nobody wants to see that
It was clear that Quatro going to win on this quite tight and moisture tack - the big question is much different: Do you need a second faster car or the trilling joyful driving car... I'll take the joy
The merc coupe is nice but id rather take high reving v8 rs5 cuz im in Lake Tahoe area. Strait up snow eater👌
Audi
this video is so old...where's the updated vid
Zack it's old model
Objective port secondary gbrafd reach solar cook.
4wd is for weak rwd merc is the one to go. And most of all I would prefer to have a lap fun rather than fast.
well it was a wet track
unless they get paid for it, nobody races their car in the rain. merc is still my fav.
yeah
Shit this old boy can drive.
Good on you geeza.
I love audi but that mercedies did very well considering it is only 2wd
It lacked torque this RS5 considering how heavy it was. It probably feels slow on day to day roads compared to the C63.
I have one and you're right, at lower rpm the 'shove' isn't as strong as you'd want. The engine is designed to be revved out like a k20 Honda engine, all the power is at the top end hence the 8300rpm red line.

C63🔥

This here is an rs5
C63 AMG❤️❤️
Why would you do it in the wet?
M3 would had been quicker than both
The Audi will always be more beautiful, more comfortable, dominates in poor weather conditions, and will keep you alive longer at the same time. All wins. Who wants to end up on the epic fail youtube crush videos???
Merc needs to seriously tweak the suspension settings aswell and better traction control software
Ok. But I still go with Mercedes 10 out of 10!
AMG all day
how is that Mercedes new it is like 3-4 years old
Ahmed Khan Because this video is a clip from a Fifth Gear episode which was filmed and aired many years ago.
The Audi 4.2 is a patience disaster
if u will stop drifting, merc will be faster than audi.
True! 😊
Audi is the better looking car
I'd rather have the merc. The audi looks dull.
In December 2020 (almost 2021) the Audi has mostly been forgotten, whilst the c63 has become very desirable, collectible and definitely a future classic.
What???? I just bought my second s5 Lol

In the real world, the Merc would get utterly destroyed. Here, it ''just'' got destroyed on this short track.
Audi rs5 4.2 Wow
The bmw m3 would punch them both in the face
He is not even driving either car! It's badly simulated. There were other drives. Cheap video.
Jewish up tend stare lifetime positive range control fairly.
Comparar un 4x2 y 4x4 en piso mojado !!! Payasos , tradúzcanlo, hagan comparativas como corresponde, poco profesionales
Mercedes pilot nem jó ! Más pilot megveri AMG Black seriával a Audit ! 100%
C63 is not a track car its a traffic light to light muscle car
Pointless test
Then the E92 M3 kicks the shit outta both, woooooo!
audi is trash though..
