A trip down memory lane, thank you for sharing. Great to see Waddingtons again, when I was 18 I used to work in The Chase (Kings Head back then), the place would be rammed on a Friday night, non-stop behind the bar pulling pints.
We used to do Worksop Friday's and Saturdays. Start off in Ship, and work way down end up In McDonald's that was at bottom on corner. Was a really good night. I used to work in Kwik Save that is now the Liquorice Gardens. 17 year old left Wales Comp and ended up at Kwik save at Killamarsh. And moved all over different stores.
I saw mud wrestling at the ship on a Thursday night. My brother in law dragged me in. I wondered what was going off when one of the girls pulled me off the side and started dancing with me. The good old days Ian.
Don that was the original market, but there was one on the car park in the 70s behind the library. Where was the dukeries hotel as I was trying to locate where the market was before that?
@@timawells i havent been in town for ages the last time i did was on a sunday night when we went for a indain meal..we walked back through town after and it was dead and scary...at one time of day sunday was a busy night...
For a Friday night it's very quiet. The same as in most of our towns Ruined by useless councils. For all its faults Rotherham used to be a great night out and now pffft
People’s habits seem to have changed the next generation’s don’t seem to want to do what the previous generations did with pub crawls. Wickersley is about as busy as it gets in Rotherham but appears to be mainly an older crowd my generation . A lot now appear to prefer tea out and a couple of drinks .

@@Amandajane-freespirit I was out at Beauchief Abbey Amanda. ♥
@timawells Nice Tim ❤️
Cleaner than Sheffield too
No graffiti. I like Worksop.

Sad to see half the pubs gone, but glad the Kings Head didn't fall to flats.

@lmarsh1894 we used to do our shopping in there..no frills beans was awesome.
Surprised how quiet it is considering how close to Christmas.
With less than 50% of the 80s pubs,
The ship was a favourite of mine
Still sat empty after all these years
Sad thing to see a high street not being fully utilised
Some one tried to change it without consent and its never been open since.
Remember the Ship in eighties,buzzing
good review...
Thanks
Rockfords ! That’s what club was called we went in
I think it was renamed, I am sure it was Annabels in the 80s and my mother called it Samanthas.
It was good old days in the 90s
Sad isn't it. But a still great looking town centre.
What was that club called at bottom of high street in eighties ? Good in there back in day
Mr Moles?
My favourite was the Frog and Night gown downstairs. My new romantic days. Human League No1.
The cattle Market Hotel became The Dukeries Hotel in about 1959 !

the lockside does open later...
Hank id looked absolutely dead of life at 8pm.

Hi Tim nice place mate very rare video in the dark mate
I like to keep you happy Andy. Beauchief Abbey coming. I was there today.
@timawells I look forward to it mate hope it's a long video my fav 👍
@@andywright3450 I need to re edit the videos so they will be longer coming out Andy.
Not much atmosphere...🤔
It was still a bit early but its supposed to be the last Friday before Christmas Leon. Half the pubs have gone since the 80s.
Looks prettier than sheffield which seams a slum these days
Theres been a lot of work on it, but not enough people coming into the town to shop Richard.

Worksop has less than half the pubs in town I remember in the 80s.

@andyh3142 I don't think the cost of living helps either. Showing my age but I remember going out with £10 and catching the last bus home 😂
@@andyh3142 They didn't climb trees either and live their lives through phones Andy. I did a video on Wickersley, but not my cup of tea.
@@allyup3404 yes combination of that as well add them all together not pretty for the pub trade.
DUMP
I disagree. I blame the people of Worksop for not supporting it.
