@@GeoffDiazI’m not from the states and half the stuff he says is “trending” has been a mainstay for ages. ASIC runners have been hyped for at least a decade and onitsuka tiger has been their fashion arm for longer than that. So yeah, glad I wasn’t the only one confused there.
@@proaudiorestore8926 i'm only really referring to the the timbs. i knew asics has always lowkey been out there. i live on the east coast and i've seen timbs all year long. not sure why he thinks it'll stick around only for one more fall/winter season
Trust me it’s only the hypebeasts that think they went out of style I’m from the uk and I’ve had timbs in my rotation and go to winter shoe since I was kid (family in us put me on them can’t lie) so your talking 25+ years 👊🏽
being form NYC Im confused by this video. With the exception of the red speedcats or the mens ugg booots (oxymoron), Most these sneakers been a staple for years. Tigers, Tims, Asics runners, NB even puma never really went away
@@drollins9973 He’s on about what shoes are very popular now. He’s not saying that these shoes haven’t been staples it’s more that they’ve had had a big resurgence. I think people are missing the point.
Puma is growing for sure, I just a pair of the Stay Puft Ghostbuster XL's and they're sick. Also Timberland boots never went anywhere, the clothing has fallen off big time though. The Nike shocks are unique and comfy, I'm all for a come back.
As the worker in Adidas retail I can see the slow downfall of sambas. People are getting more interesting other sub-versions of them. People want chunky shoes (most probably because the winter is coming and u don't want to wear lowtop sneakers as sambas)
I wouldn't say Sambas are comparable to just a Panda Dunk but I would say they're comparable to Dunks in general. Dunks in every color and Sambas in every color are everywhere. I think I'm more tired of seeing dunks though. At least some of the Sambas come in decent materials, not that plastic stuff that Nike is pumping out
As a lover of great sneaker quality I would still prefer seeing dunks to sambas. Sambas are just ugly cleats and everyone who wears them looks like they smell
I think people are kind of missing the point of what he’s saying. He’s not saying that these shoes haven’t been staples such as Timberlands,Mexico’s and Samba’s. He’s saying that these certain shoes have become a big trend. For example, Timberlands have often been worn with baggy jeans. What has become a trend recently is baggy jeans. They both go together well.
Adidas samba true greatest silhouette of all time. Not to mention the bad bunny Benito gazelles. They are like sambas but much more comfier for a collab it’s easy to get. Black and white goes well with anything,
Bruh I’m 40 and Tim’s were popular since I can remember. They ain’t going out of style. They might be trendy for you TikTok babies but up north and many other places in the states will always rock Tims.
That's actually the Onitsuka Tiger Corsair, not the Mexico 66. The Corsair looks like a clone of the Cortez except for the O. Tiger stripes vs Nike swoosh across the side of the shoe.😊
Timberlands are sick and always have been. I’m 30 and have had like 5 6 pairs. The original 6inch heel ones, black ones, blue and grey fold over ones, some black ones that had a black gum sole kinda thing, I’ve just had a pair of the more ankle boot ones and now I’ve got the green stride motion 6s. They’re cool if you don’t wear them with some baggy blue jeans hip hop kinda thing aha and they’ll last forever
I've owned pairs of these original Speedcats, Shocks, Uggs, and Tigers. Speedcats are so uncomfortable! Tigers for me has always been🔥 Oh and Timbs will always be OG🔥💯
How can you mention Onitsuka and not the relationship with Nike's DNA/Phil Knight? Cortez ring a bell? Also... Sambas, Gazelles, Speziales? Different shoes entirely bro... Read 'Shoe Dog'.
i love that sweater man the high neck i think is important on sweaters. i hate when they have that big neck where your under shirt bunches up or shows at all. also maybe because im from the big apple im bias but tims live forever here but for winter weather i love my uggs
Yeah adidas originals all the way, gotta have a few colours in rotation all the time, timeless as well. I’ve got green n blue gazelles, black cordura handball specialz and black cordura forum lows. I couldn’t get close to counting how many pairs of adidas I’ve had, gazelles, Forrest hills, handball specials, never sambas though, even had all the predator and F50 football boots back in the day 😂 sick. I got the white thunders and wet cements about 2 3 months ago and I’ve still not worn them haha I want the fears and black cats too 😅
Adidas Superstar. I don't care if they're not trending - they've got it all (lore, great collabs over time, prominent players wearing them, even a feature song!)
Timberland and Uggs should be considered boots not sneakers even if they're popular. Otherwise we would be putting more non sneakers in the list from Birkenstocks to Crocs and Havainas. So far the Y2K Dad shoe is still holding but for how long? In my opinion, there are other trends that should be mentioned and still strong. One is the skateboard shoe trend like Vans. Another is the Gorpcore that we see with Salomons. There's also the Outdoors trends with Runners and Trail Runners, with On, Hoka, NB and Brooks on the Runners, and Salomon and Alta on the Trail Runners.
Elliot !! ASICS only grew in popularity bc of Kanye / balenciaga back in 2020-2021 .. how come you never mention this ??! I can’t be the only one that knows this
I think it's because they are all T-toes from the Originals range but yes completely different shoes, perhaps the SL72 will be the next to hype, the recent Bob Marley version sold out instantly
I disagree with this whole entire take. I don't believe any of these shoes are trendy they are all classics and the retro trend is back. All of these shoes were very popular when I was in high school and it's like all the people have money now and want to buy the shoes they couldn't get back then. I wouldn't be surprised if Yeezys got a huge resurgence in 10 years. The 1980s stuff have been popular for like the last 10 years because those people are now grown up and producing shows and movies about it.
Like, I've literally been craving a pair of Adidas Superstar my whole university years, but being too expensive for me I contented myself with admiring them from afar. After I started earning my own paycheck, I bought my first pair. They're not trending RN, but I don't care. I'd never swap them for any other sneaker in the world
Asics is the most confortable shoes I have in my rotation and I love. I have the kayano 14 Imperfection model, is so sick and I get him because your review so thank you
He never said that they would. He saying that people who have got on the trend recently are more likely to move from trend to trend and move on from them.
New balance 1906R already peaked and are on their way out. They keep making different models of the same shoe to try and save the 1906, but all the newer versions suck.
Feel like you missed the hoka Clifton or any on sneaker - I see them everywhere especially compared to campus 00 or onitsuka tigers which I only see on tiktok
I don't mind shoes that are actually comfortable becoming popular, the ultraboost craze was a great time to be alive, but I can't wait for the mesh runner trend to die, specifically asics, they all look the same and no one cared about asics until recently, and even with all the popularity, they still have done anything new or exciting. It's just mesh shoe after mesh shoe.
Honestly people are so dumb smh all those like Shox, Sambas, Vomeros, Pumas, Kayanos, Nimbus etc. were all trendy around 2010 and those were horrible times trust me. Wouldn't be surprised if Buffalo 5cm midsole sneakers, boots will be popular in the near future paired with Alpha Industries bomber jacket. Pure comedy😂😂 As an all school sneaker head I'll stick to my Jordans, Dunks, NBs. Great times for me I'll buy 20 Jordans next year for retail😅
