Underworld had the potential to be one of the greatest action horror franchise of all time. They under achieved due to not utilising their characters to the max. Characters such as Amelia, Michael ,Marcus, Viktor, William etc
they found a way back at least with Viktor and Lucian in Rise of the lycans

It’s interesting that in all the movies I’ve watched involving vampires and werewolves this is both the most realistic in my point of view and the least magical in fact as far as I know everything about the creation of the creatures in this movie is done by genetics if that makes sense.

You're right, and this is why I love this franchise so much. My only gripe is that they still turned to magic in the last episode with those strange powers Selene got from those northern white haired vampires.

These aren't Lycans.
William's spawn = 1st Gen Werewolves.
Lucian's spawn = 2nd Gen Werewolves better known as Lycans. Stronger and more intelligent than 1st Gen.

Lycans are not inherently stronger, what determines strength in Underworld are two things (plus one): blood and age. The closest you are from the original immortals (Alexander, Marcus and William), the stronger you are; and the longer you lived also increases your relative strength but through experience.
Another (rare) reason would be hybridization, as hybrids are generally stronger (in real life too). But it is a difficult achievement and they can still be overwhelmed by more experienced fighters.
So lycans are technically weaker than werewolves or William himself, but given that they're intelligent and generally lived longer they will almost always win in a fight (not against William though, unless it's a very experienced lycan like Lucian or Raze and even then they would probably struggle).
brute animalistic strength without any consideration for self-preservation vs brute strength with intelligence related to tactics, and a great desire to live... as a human, if you fight with a reckless disregard for your own life, you're more chaotic and often times perceived stronger through sheer will and determination, doesn't mean you are stronger, it's just all about perceptions... what we can't do, at least knowingly is fight with an unconscious disregard for our own life, this may however be achieved through certain drugs, but the drugs will generally enhance other facets as well, not just create a dissociative state... it is difficult to tell how 'mindless' they actually are tho, as to whether this is as overwhelming state of mind as is considered here, they were following calls from Lucian at one point, therefore general communication is possible, meaning, they're not 'mindless'... still comes down to being more disconnected from higher brain functions than the Lycans, so, if they are the same strength, by default, William's spawn are technically stronger, on average, intelligence with combined strength in this situation, will almost always have the edge with related battle tactics... if you fire at a William spawn straight on, and it sees it coming, is it smart enough to jump out of the way of a projectile, does it understand what it is and what it means...

But even then you can still see Viktors army turned vampires still have trouble facing the feral beast werewolves. Even tho Viktors army was well trained, they lost quite abit of men.
To even maintain the containment of the werewolves from escaping to spread the disease/virus

a direct bite from William is a one-way ticket to becoming a werewolf, unable to transform back to human form. This is caused by the high concentration of werewolf viruses in William's blood. Later, the bloodline is diluted in each generation so future werewolves can maintain their mind and turn back to human. Markus in this scene can just transform to his bat-like form and kill the whole village because he's the only elder that is as strong as William.
Marcus didn't have the bat form at this point. He got it centuries later when he became a hybrid
i wish they showed an all out war with swords on swords and lycans fighting in the lycans ranks against vamps make a huge battle happen would have been a sight to see who wins and who falls

Probably why several older vampires despise Lycans in the first place. They remember this terrifying version.
What I don't remember is why Marcus took orders from Victor. He was the elder and I think the more powerful of the two, so why would he obey Victor?

Victor was a famous warlord, and since William was literally a plague and Marcus wasn't able to stop his brother, he needed Victor to help him. And his army.
Marcus manipulated Victor cause he rich as fck and William gave no cap. That's why both Marcus and Victor struggle to exist together at the same timeline but woken at always at a wrong timing. Lol
Never knew the Dead can turn into werewolfs we mainly see the the people alive when they turn

But when the skin been burnt off and the fat from the tissue start leaking out the fire can live off that for awhile. But to turn the body charcoal like the fire yet again need more fuel when the fat been used up.
@@MajSolo The problem would be for the body to even reach ignition point and catch fire initially. Starting the process itself would be difficult without starter fuel.

Because Viktor had an army of vampires loyal to him. Marcus sought out Viktor when he was still human for his army and resources to help contain the werewolf infection.

My psiudonym Draco Boyko I live in France city of Toulouse, I wanted to say that the word vampires came from the german language means bloodsucker, this word was eaten because the was the name of the camaras, and then switched to bats, vampires and then movies
The only part I hate is that the stupid idiots made the guys that got bit by William "the original werewolf" turn into Lucian type werewolves but Lucian didn't bite them William did so they should have turned into the rabid kind like William and never be able to turn back into human. How could they have overlooked this? William's werewolf form and Lucian's werewolf form look very different and they are obviously the Lucian type.

werewolf bite's kill vampires, unless you are in the Corvinus blood line Alexander Corvinus was the first Immortals his son's are Williams 1st werewolf and Marcus 1st vampire a 1000 years later Michael was turned into the 1st hybrid Marcus didn't know this at the time he thought if he was bitten or drank Lycan blood he would die like everyone else. Michael is a descendent of Alexander 3rd son who was born mortal.
