  • Here's my new giant Theraphosa Blondi, the Goliath Bird Eater Tarantula.
    The biggest specimen ever caught is 11 inches across. This one is 10.5 inches - and for an arachnophobe like me, you better believe that this is PLENTY big!

    That is so impressive! Sorry it was damaged during shipping, I know how that feels, but you repaired it so nicely, great job. I'm glad you pointed out about wearing gloves, too. I have yet to pin a tarantula, so I will be sure to take caution.

    I just have a question my friend's rose hair tarantula passed away last night and I just started getting into the pinning process with butterflies and moths. but I don't want to pass up the opportunity in preserving the tarantula. is there anything that I would need to know before I start? pointers or tips? I've been doing my research all day and I pick it up from her tonight. thanks for the help

    T. Stirmis have far bigger jaws and greater legspans than T. blondis
