At my age, I tell everyone I know, please, no gifts. If you insist on giving me something, I prefer a gift card from my favorite grocery store or from Target.
@Pearl Richardson I stopped collecting & buying things that I don't need 15 years ago. Most of the stuff I have was given to me. Instead of throwing a lot of stuff all at once, I toss out one item every week. Either I donate it or toss it out.
When you donate remember that if you wouldn't buy it then toss it. If something is broken, toss it. If there is a button missing or a tear or a paint stain, toss it. Thrift stores have a big expense disposing of stuff they can't sell because it is in bad condition. Don't do that to them.
@@annesmith6582 New socks and underwear are what is really needed. A lot of homeless people do have jobs but can't find affordable housing. I have been working hard to declutter. When I looked around today my home felt more quiet than it has in years. I still have work to do but I am getting there. The calmer my home feels, the more motivated I am.
When I give gifts to people, I always tell them to feel free to re-gift if they want to. My friends and I have told each other that we do not need birthday or Christmas gifts. We just give gifts spontaneously if we see something the other person would love. I cleaned the house of a lady who had cows everywhere in her home. I asked her why she loved cows and she said she didn’t! One person had given her something with a cow on it, then a relative noticed and soon a whole collection was started!
What I loved with Jody and Mark…they’ve been honest sincere in educating people…very inspiring in telling stories about their experiences with families and friends… Kudos Jody and Mark!!!
Animal shelters can use towels, laundry cleaners, blankets, etc. Ask your local animal control/shelter if they have a list of items needed. Just a suggestion!
I just found your channel, can’t wait to binge watch. Mrs. Looks like an actress, beautiful lady! And Mr. Wow! My problem (?) too! I’m a “closet” cleaner… lol! I can’t clean unless I am ALONE, chore stuff yes but deep cleaning, I have to have the house to myself for focus. Please do a video on the importance of “alone” time for retirees.
Thank you Donna Hubler for this comment. We appreciate you taking the time to watch our episodes. Stay as long as you like! Lol. We love what we do and get encouragement from friends like you. And yes alone time is so important. I thought we did do an episode on that topic as I need a fair amount of alone time to recharge my batteries (this is Mark). We both appreciate having time alone and will do an episode on that topic soon. Thank you for the suggestion.
My boyfriend's cluttered house really contributed to our breakup cuz I just couldn't stand living with all the stuff everywhere and you couldn't even clean properly because of all the junk sitting everywhere.
After years of being gifted ornaments and stuff, I finally decided enough already. We set up a table at flea markets and sold some of them. Sentimentality makes it so hard to let go of our treasures. I even gave my relatives our stuff after we moved and told them to have a garage sale or whatever they want to do. We live in an apartment so can't do that and can't be bothered selling online. Donations are always appreciated so I did that too. I am continuing to declutter and will do so until I am content.
My MIL put everything out on a table at Christmas and asked everyone to take something that has meaning to them. I gave my surplus to a homeless village so their tiny homes could be decorated. If I purchased it, it was somewhat tasteful and I hope someone else could make their own great memories.
I've requested no decorations, no clothing, nothing that collects dust. Only hand-made items or gardening related items. It's not the gift that matters much anymore. It's spending quality time.
I’m so happy I found this video. This really spoke to me because I’ve been thinking about this subject a lot. I don’t want my kids to have to throw out all my precious things. I’ve started asking each of them who wants what and if no one wants it (most of my stuff) it’s going to Facebook marketplace or donation.
I'm laughing at the pig story... somebody gave me a kitchen towel with the white goose with a blue hat. My mother saw it and for every occasion after that for years I got something with a goose... napkins, cookie jar, salt and pepper shakers etc. I didn't like the goose but to keep from hurting her feelings I kept them until after she passed away.
My mom had a pig collection, a cow collection, and a chicken collection. 😳. My parents had saved every card they had received and every announcement from every funeral they had ever attended. It has been an overwhelming process.
We air fry almost everything. Whole chicken tastes amazing. Season the outside with your favorite dried herbs, rub some olive oil and start air frying breast down for 1/2 hour then turn over for another 1/2 hour. Check internal temperature 165 degrees. Hamburgers are amazing in the air fryer and pork chops, hot dogs, and veggies! Thanks for the video on decluttering.
My husband just wants to throw everything out! I do a little at a time. But not fast enough for him. I'll get there sooner or later! Hopefully, sooner!
My husband retired in December. We have been wanting to move. We lived in our house for 21 years. Military 15 years before. Until we moved to our current house, we moved a few times because of the military. We had 21 years to collect " Stuff". Since las fall, we have been slowly getting rid of stuff. Got rid of a lot more than i thought we would. I started in the kitchen. 1st stuff that went were appliances we haven't used in a couple years. The things i wasn't sure of, i put in a box. Closed the lid. Gave myself 2 months to see if we use something from that box. At the end of the 2 months, unopened the box and took it to a charity. Most of the stuff that went, i don't even know what was in the box. Did the same with other rooms. Also, learned from a minimalist, sentimental things like gifts, are clutter if you never use them. Let someone else enjoy them. I had a set i got as a wedding gift. I rarely used them because they are hand wash and not microwaveable. Sold a few things too.
Thank you for this Nan S. What a marvelous process you created for yourself. I especially like that the items you were not sure about you put in a box for a few months. Good suggestion for people who aren’t sure. Great stuff here!
Live in a van or camper for 6 months. No cheating by adding stuff. Only what you NEED. eye opener. OR do this exercise; you have 30 minutes to load your vehicle and evacuate to never come back. Even better, 15 minutes and your walking. Aside of necessities, the things you thought of saving first is probably what you hold dear.
I am collecting my old programs for local events, like local piano recitals, church programs, decorated nametags, certificates, diaries, local articles, and community photos for our local local, state, and regional archives. I check to see if they would like to have what I have. I'm sending theatre photos and posters back to a place we lived in forty years ago. Some places want the real thing; others want digitized photos. These kinds of ephemera really flesh out the history of a community. Do check before tossing photo albums, old community records, and old scrapbooks to see if the community archives would like to have them.
I love your cross purpose banter! It's enjoyable to me to see a couple who make the process work even though they are not always in lock step. I have lived alone for several years and have nobody to grumble to if the clutter builds up. Or to blame!!😮❤😂

Mostly forced by my partner…. Of 39 years…. 50 people around us.. said it was EXTREME…. 😢! So been sad, to sort FAMILY inherited pieces.. Had to dispose of many… Moving to The UK.. to start new lives as our BELOVED country is being destroyed… Thank you for your Video.. Take Care.. Leaving soon.. 🎊 🎉🇿🇦🌸🙏🏻Jenny
This is my first organizing video to watch. Admittedly, you’ve popped up on my feed a few times but I just say “no” and move on to another Gardening video. (How does YT even know I should do this? Apparently my phone is listening to conversations from my husband!) Anyway, having come from a very frugal family post war I guess I felt deprived or it’s just innate to be a hoarder. Moving on, after a total kitchen remodel in putting things away I rigorously forced myself to limit myself to two kitchen utensils of each kind (there is also a kitchen in the mother-in-law suite) only to discover that some time after a big donation to Goodwill I had to buy some of them back, and I don’t mean from Goodwill. See? I’ve fallen back to keeping things because “I might need this some day.” Already a failure, but not to fear I’m going to go on to listen to what’s wrong with my bathroom (5’x8’). 😂
Hello, I'm 60 years old and began my decluttering process this year. It's been great! Look up Dana K White and Dawn from The Minimal Mom. They have been extremely helpful to me in getting me on track to decluttering and staying on track. You will love how valuable their information on the decluttering process is. I hope you give them a try. Have a blessed and wonderful journey! 💐
So funny about the grapefruit spoon, my husband has his mother’s and we need to keep it. I have been decluttering my own items, my husband keeps everything, books, clothes, Knick knacks etc. I hope I go first because I don’t want to deal with his clutter 😊
You two are such fun!😊 This video feels like a discussion over coffee rather than a "you need to do this" video. Thanks for taking the time to record this video. Could you send Mark over to clean out my stuff, just not the cat.❤
I received an old antique little shelf box. I put a small tea set in it to have something to put in it. Then people started buying me small tea sets like I collected tea sets.
Great video! Here's an air fryer recipe that we used on WW and lost weight! Any frozen potato item...tots, fries, hash browns (not the stringy ones)...Put them in a single layer on the fryer tray, spray with olive oil, salt to taste, and do 385 for 8 minutes tossing half way through. You'll love them and they are low fat! We make them at breakfast.
The only problem I have with uploading photos is that if your computer crashes and you lose the uploads, the photos are gone forever. Photographs are uncomplicated and don't need to be converted.
I'm making new albums of pics, including who and where the people are, the dates, as well as recording a little social history, events in their lives. My nephews and nieces love the albums from family members who lived over 100 years ago before the throw away age.

Went from a 1 bed room condo I lived in for 18 years...then to a 1 bedroom small apt. been cleaning out since I landed in my apt. I'm going for the "HOTEL" look. Not really possible, but every day, every week, I am eyeing something I know I need to trash. I'd rather have mega money working for me while I sleep, which I do.....than to have a bunch of "stuff" that is where I get my dopamine rush! seeing my money grow! Had a sister who is a severe hoarder (w/severe mental issues) so buying stuff and filling a void was never my thing, although the stuff I've gotten rid of forced me to face my "issues" although they were minimal. When I move next, it'll be a slam dunk! You guys are adorable, yet (sorry) remind me why I'M NOT MARRIED! NEVER! at 62....too much stuff w/2 people...NOT IN MY HOUSE! LORD.
LOL I love the two of you. I too wait for my husband to be out of the house before I start decluttering as he always walks in when I am halfway through and he just sees it as me making a mess and puts me off with his negative comments. And about those out of date medicines... I take them to the pharmacy so they can dispose of them and guess what they say? "they are indeed over the date, but you can still use them" (jaw drop!! SO not helpful when I have finally picked up the courage to get rid of stuff!!) BTW thank you for this useful video, I love it!
What a great video, light, comical and helpful! Been reducing my stuff for the last couple of years and can't believe I haven't missed anything; overtime I now have empty drawers and or shelves in cupboards - who knew 😏. I started with just one drawer just like your advice and kept going, now I continue on a regular basis and still surprised that I declutter more each time.
I’m currently involved in getting my parents things distributed, donated since they moved to a facility. They are late 80’s and didn’t do any decluttering. 😔
This is great @rj627. What an awesome conversation to have with your adult children. We also ask them to give us experiences such as having them come over and cook dinner for us. Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. I’m inspired by your words. Mark
I have said this for awhile and I have started to do this . I told all kids no more and it’s ok but at times they buy for themselves until they move out. 😊
We have lived in our home for 47 years. We still have stuff from my husband’s former marriage which I can’t throw away. We have masses of stuff from his parents’ home which are heirlooms, which I can’t throw away. Finding room for my stuff is a problem because I love my books and jig-saw puzzles and China collection. I remove things inch by inch but I don’t think I have a long enough life to free myself!😢
My mother regarded as everything she had as "precious." To her they were, and to me I thought they did hold some value. The time came to empty her condo. I looked up a few of her "precious" items online and on Ebay I could buy the same thing for $6.95. It wasn't the actual item's value that was precious, it was her memory of her favorite aunt giving it to her that made it precious. My mom surrounded herself with these "precious" items and it broke my heart to dispose and donate what I could, but what I couldn't bring myself to make rational decisions about are in a tiny storage unit until I am ready to look at them. I am starting the process, so that's progress. But then again, no one wants these things. Is that really true?
There is an old saying and I problem have it wrong but sounds like ones man’s trash is another’s man’s treasure. They were treasure, or precious, to your mom, but not to you. Maybe eBay is an option or gather a few neighbors and have a tag sale. Not as much for the money but to give people a chance to find their treasure. It’s amazing reading all the comments and how hard it is to dispose of our parents stuff and things. Thank you for your comment.

After so many traumas and losses.
This was unexpectedly super funny and fun to watch not like being lectured. I want my stuff to make me happy, but somehow it doesn't. It is just somewhere to stub your toe and get in the way. I think you have to choose your values. Some people are more sentimental and some more practical. Each should have their own space to have their way. I personally much more enjoy flipping through big photo albums of pictures than scrolling through them on a computer. I don't necessarily like them in little frames all over. To me that can get cluttered looking. I think if things are well organized and artistically presented you can get a lot more in. Then there is the problem of moving them and cleaning around them. Then you have a lot of stress. Rather than finding reasons to keep things, I would rather focus on reasons to get rid of things. Then you aren't thinking why you would want it but why you don't. That makes it easier to let go.
Oh my! I absolutely agree with you about the photos. I have thousands of digital photos that never get looked at. But my children and grandchildren love looking at the photo albums.
I've just had to move some stuff between different kitchen cabinets and that was useful for finding things that weren't needed. And yes, the bottom drawer is a 'stuff that doesn't go anywhere else' drawer. I've only been here two years, and got rid of a lot of things last year, but the 'misc. stuff drawer' is probably full of unnecessary things even so. Time to give it the treatment!
When my dad died (in 2004) I inherited a lot of his photographs. Only kept some - mostly ones with him and/or my mum in them. Scanned one or two (of his travels in the Alps and the Mediterranean in the 1950s) but really a photo is a photo.
I'd suggest people take a look at The Minimal Mom and Dana K White in order to get some more ideas. You are assuming most people have normal homes to declutter. There are so many others who really don't understand how their homes got so cluttered, and need a mindset reset. Even the two of you are showing a bit of irritation with each other because downsizing is emotional.
Deb here. I do not have a problem getting rid of things but I like to do it responsibly. I do not like to put everything in the trash. Not everyone wants your stuff. What do you do?
Hi Deb. We donate a lot to different organizations. Many local churches have stores that they stock with lightly used items and use that income to support their local programs. There are also larger national programs that will come to your house and pick up. It’s all on google. Many people will put some effort into selling their things on Facebook marketplace as well. The important thing to us is that if we have things we don’t use any more, we want them in the hands of people that would enjoy using them.
All things at some point will end up in the dump. Do what you can to find a home for your item but if a home cannot be found, realize it has served its usefulness. You can either keep it and your family throws it away after you are gone OR you throw it away now so you are living in a clutter free home for your remaining days. The best we can do is not to buy more things in the future so we are not filling up the landfills.
Our local library had a big rummage sale I take stuff there and to the Goodwill and Veterans Thrift Store. I’m just finishing up decluttering after not have done it for over 15 years! My mother decluttered the entire house every 6 months Now I see why
Getting rid of paper clutter is a huge job. It was my project during the pandemic lockdowns. I had business papers, cancelled checks, etc going back 45 years. No need to save all of it. I also reorganized my files so family could easily find important papers. Get rid of the excess and label files for important papers.

Mark, give yourself a deadline, a specific date on the calendar within the next 3 months to get the snow shoes to your niece. If not out of your house and in hers by that date then you donate it or throw them away.
My mom had roosters, teapots, shot glasses, and cookie jars. So much stuff. I got rid of all but one of each. What do you suggest for all of the family photos? Large framed photos of great- great- grandparents. My parents and grandparents had large homes with these portraits hanging on walls. What do you suggest for photo albums of pictures?
I’m asking these 2 as well. The framed photos are so so so much (my mom died recently but needing to lighten the load) both at her place and mine Thank you
I also need to know what to do with thousands of pictures & several albums of pictures. These were inherited after my parents passed away years ago. They have moved with me since 2003. I definitely will not be using my time to scan & upload them to a stick or to those automatic digital frames plus I am quite sure my son, daughter & nieces & nephews won't either. I have downsized to a smaller apt without any extra storage& space plus I am decluttering my own items. Any suggestions will & would be helpful.
I have one also, given as a Christmas gift by my loving Grama when I was newly married. We were poor so the gift was well used throughout the years. It looks shaggy inside from all the use but I just keep it for the memories ♡♡♡
I'm in the process of de-cluttering and I am currently sitting in a mess. I'm trying to pair down my makeup and knowing what I spent on some of this kills me. I want to slap myself for buying it. I have clothes with the TAGS on it that I need to get rid of. It's so hard. I wish I had help so I'd at least have someone to talk (argue) with besides myself. I've made progress but it is NOT ENOUGH. I have nice China and crystal and I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want that. Do people eat off of paper plates?? Never entertain? what? I am not getting rid of that.
Nothing wrong with keeping china and crystal if you're using it and entertain guests. As for what you've spent money on, just know that the minute you bought the stuff the money is already gone. That is the issue we have in placing a value on what we have. But which is more valuable to you? The items or the decluttered clear space. I value the clear space. That gives me less stress. I feel more free since I began decluttering this year. Look up Dana K White and Dawn from The Minimal Mom. They helped me so much.
I know lots of people who seek in Facebook marketplace. We have never used it but some people love it. Things you don’t want any more end up in the hands of those who do, and you make some money along the way.
I have a problem you haven’t mentioned- I have some valuable items that I am embarrassed to have and don’t want anyone else to have either. Like a silk scarf with swastikas printed on it that came from Germany in 1933. It’s historical but I wouldn’t want a white suprematist to flaunt it.Also elephant tusks that were obtained legally over 50 years ago but being a conservationist it seems wrong. I don’t want anyone else to even want it. They have intrinsic value butI don’t know what to do.
i always hang my clothes backward and at the end of the year the hangers thst are not turned around i get rid of also if you buy some new clothing get rid of an old one

My only daughter is always getting rid of things. She keeps telling me take a picture of it then get rid of the item. I did take many pictures of a Japanese geisha doll that I got on my tenth birthday. She was very tired and and drab looking. I took her apart and got rid of her frame but kept everything else. I have the pictures and her clothes, but it is still not the same. Oh well……I guess you can’t keep it when you die

I absolutely love my air fryer. Don’t get rid of yours. Go on UA-cam lol and you will find a whole bunch of different recipes and how to use the air fryer. At my age, I tell everyone I know, please, no gifts. If you insist on giving me something, I prefer a gift card from my favorite grocery store or from Target.
Great idea!
I am thinking of telling people the same thing. I do not need anything. Cash, gift card or an experience would be great for me.
@Pearl Richardson I stopped collecting & buying things that I don't need 15 years ago. Most of the stuff I have was given to me. Instead of throwing a lot of stuff all at once, I toss out one item every week. Either I donate it or toss it out.

I thought I was the only one! Lol. Mark
My mom had a pig collection, a cow collection, and a chicken collection. 😳. My parents had saved every card they had received and every announcement from every funeral they had ever attended. It has been an overwhelming process.
Oh no! That does sound like a lott for you to handle.
I’m guilty of saving cards and the funeral cards. They are in labeled boxes so I guess I would call it “organized clutter”! 😂
One time my chicken came out delicious, next time it came out raw. We gave our air fryer away
Young people and young families need to declutter also.
Just wish my husband was on the same planet so we could work together like you two😢
Yeah, I get that, same for me.
Right there with you!🤣
My husband just wants to throw everything out!
Done the first thing. Donated twins. My stuff that can be donated goes to Vets. No attic. No basement. Full garage.
5/23/23...I am a retired single lady who COLLECTS clowns 🤡 + dogs 🐕 + angels 😇 + license plates (from all my cars since I started driving) + travel souvenirs + original framed art 🖼 🎨 + tea-for-one sets.
I am keeping ALL my license plates b/c they don't take up much space.
I am keeping my tea-for-1 sets b/c I want to keep 1 collection.
I am dusting/cleaning my other items---1 collection @ a time + then taking a pix with my Mini Fuji Instant camera 📷 + a pix on my cell phone....+ I AM KEEPING THIS COLLECTION along with a list + the mini pix.
The other collections I am ckeaning + takng pix + boxing up to donste @ a few nice local church thrift stores.
That way I will have 2 iof my collections + pix of the life-long collections that I have given away.

This sounds like a great plan Eileene.
Hi there South African here., JUST had to declutter To prepare TO leave my country of BIRTH…. 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦And my ancestors since 18’00…
Been very Painful.. To get rid of 95% of OUR possessions….. Mostly forced by my partner…. Of 39 years….
50 people around us.. said it was EXTREME…. 😢!
So been sad, to sort FAMILY inherited pieces.. Had to dispose of many…
Moving to The UK.. to start new lives as our BELOVED country is being destroyed…
Thank you for your Video..
Take Care.. Leaving soon.. 🎊 🎉🇿🇦🌸🙏🏻Jenny
Thank you for sharing this story Jenny. We will keep you in our thoughts with this huge life transition.
I'm so sorry love. Sending you love and safety. ❤
Bless your heart ♥ that was rough!
Smart Afrikaners saving their lives instead of their possessions !!!
You're singing my song!
Put em all on one o them thar Delkin Archive Diskd. I do!
I'm making new albums of pics, including who and where the people are, the dates, as well as recording a little social history, events in their lives. My nephews and nieces love the albums from family members who lived over 100 years ago before the throw away age.
HI...you can get an external hard drive to export them too as a copy or use a cloud based service.
@@marymcq2 Re: "You can get an external hard drive to export them too as a copy or use a cloud based service"!
Hard drives can get accidentally erased, far better a write once read only Delkin Disk that cannot be erased or overwritten. As for the 'Cloud', not for me, I like to be in control of my own property that cannot be replaced.
.............................."Trust in Allah, but tie up your Camel"! LOl!
Some people like me, like photos in their hands. Which I do not regard as cluttet😊
This is a great reminder type video. My husband and I are constantly saying we are going to clean out our basement and garage. Send Mark and his new business model, we need the help.
365 days in a year, remove 1 item per day, big or small, that’s 365 items removed in 1 year, 730 items in 2 years and so on………
Great idea! Cheers.😊
LORD.
definately donate your unwanted stuff. there are many needy people out there. BUT PLEASE COME TO AUSTRALIA AND HELP MY HUSBAND CLEAN OUT THE GARAGE
Yep, you have to be ruthless when decluttering.
Yes for sure.
I recently donated soaps lotions shampoos to homeless teen center. They were so appreciative
Would they only accept them if unused?I have many partially used ( once or twice ) - are these ok to donate to shelters?
What a great video, light, comical and helpful! Been reducing my stuff for the last couple of years and can't believe I haven't missed anything; overtime I now have empty drawers and or shelves in cupboards - who knew 😏. I started with just one drawer just like your advice and kept going, now I continue on a regular basis and still surprised that I declutter more each time.
I’m currently involved in getting my parents things distributed, donated since they moved to a facility. They are late 80’s and didn’t do any decluttering. 😔
I call the junk drawer the TREASURE drawer:)
The 1st step is always the most difficult. You just look around and do not know where to start.
Kudos for having the time and effort in putting this together.
The amount of maintenance is overwhelming when you have to many things.
Yes ma'am! Sure is!
If people like doing Rummage sales, that’s an option. I’m not into them now at 62, but I know some people are.
I let my adult children know that whatever they gift me, they will have to get rid of it when I pass on. Now I get teas, bath bombs and candles. 🎉
This is great @rj627. What an awesome conversation to have with your adult children. We also ask them to give us experiences such as having them come over and cook dinner for us. Jody lives candles, bath bombs, and flowers. This has me thinking it would be a great UA-cam episode. How to make it easy for friends and family to buy you gifts! Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. I’m inspired by your words. Mark
🤣that's awesome!
I have said this for awhile and I have started to do this . I told all kids no more and it’s ok but at times they buy for themselves until they move out. 😊
Having the conversation with our kids is the first big step.
Soooo true,I love the memories that my stuff brings to mind of people that I love
Perhaps a second house like i need 😊
You two are ADORABLE!!!❤😂🎉🎉😊
Luckily in South Africa we are so poor, people go through our garbage.
Hello I just come across your channel and I thought that the man is a double for Paul O' Grady here in the UK our dearly beloved TV presenter host who has sadly passed away. He was loved by everyone. You are the spit and image of him for sure. Thank you.
SO funny. I looked him us. A dog lover as well. He does look like me, or visa versa.
Thank you ...
extremely helpful to say make it fun and not argument! i do not have a spouse but hoping my son will help!!
(Their father passed away years ago, the father of my 3 adult children).
My son is the only one who could maybe helpful IF, IF he is not helping my daughter on disability, surviving at work and he has a wonderful women in his life who is busy at work.
SOOO about the sentimental... Some things bring back memories (my memory i hope is not going) but that is why I save. The memory makes me keep alive someone!
Also I do not like LABELS...hording / there are a lot of lonely people because they can not go out and buy something that made them laugh or smile because they found part of their collection. "different strokes for different folks."
When my 94 year old mom died, It was easy... cause all went in boxes and
Habitat for Humanity! she lived with her surroundings to the end happily. when she picked up something of a shelf or a piece of clothing /scarf she could tell you a story of the trip to that country or person. HECK what else do they have in the end but their stories, if you take almost everything away, they do not have much more reason to live. OR if they were gift givers and now the economy is only Very very Rich, Rich, Poor (ON a fixed income w only medicare) or the very, very poor (no job, or still paying for education at any age that they finally got more education and still are not paid enough).
YOUR IDEA for your new business is great, but will it be to help even those who can not afford a personal assistant or Professional organizer... A show or FOUNDATION maybe to help those who can not afford. Chemo and Breast Cancer Survivor ayears of under paid Early Childhood Ed. (Earlier years singe mom of 3 children).
and helping my adult daughter who is now on disability due to horrific accident from Late Bloomer at age 65 a master's in Family Life Education (And now soon to be 69 tired and worn out from ALBA
i do need help to down size, but my son i do not believe he has the way to make it fun without making fun of me and my sensitive self.
Love your interaction, your content and everything else about your videos! Thank you!
You are so welcome! We appreciate that you are here
So enjoyed this! You two are brilliant, thank you 💫
Thank you for your support!
I tell my girls stamps. I love a variety, because I like to send cards.
I have lots of girls, and grandchildren. Stamps take up no room.
Hey, Dana. K White and Dawn helped me so much! I'm glad you mentioned them!
@@intherockies Absolutely! I agree!
My clutter is PAPERS.
Getting rid of paper clutter is a huge job. It was my project during the pandemic lockdowns. I had business papers, cancelled checks, etc going back 45 years. No need to save all of it. I also reorganized my files so family could easily find important papers. Get rid of the excess and label files for important papers.
How do you store your old tax returns and how long do you keep them?
@@laurastiles6350 seven years from time you received your result from the tax people...CRA in Canada / IRS in USA. I keep them in slim plastic boxes sealed and labeled with tax return year and " destroy date. ". Shred it all when that year arrives.
I include the digital copy on a memory stick inside the plastic box too.
Purchasing as an investment throughout life reaps rewards. Buying food is the best bet these days.
Your video is my kick start for my adventure. TY
I did the bathroom closet and had a large trash bag of items to throw out!! And organized the closet
I'm so glad you made this video. Ya'll are just like me and my husband. Ya'll are so cute and so informative.
The framed photos are so so so much (my mom died recently but needing to lighten the load) both at her place and mine
Thank you
😮
I also need to know what to do with thousands of pictures & several albums of pictures. These were inherited after my parents passed away years ago. They have moved with me since 2003. I definitely will not be using my time to scan & upload them to a stick or to those automatic digital frames plus I am quite sure my son, daughter & nieces & nephews won't either. I have downsized to a smaller apt without any extra storage& space plus I am decluttering my own items. Any suggestions will & would be helpful.
I wish they had answered your question because I have very old framed pictures too. I don’t know what to do with them.
I never put anything in my attic (yay!) but I’ll need that week to work on the garage. Thanks for a great video.
You both are the bomb! Great video!
Thank you. We appreciate that you are here.
Oh my gosh! My husband has a fry pan just like that. It’s out of the kitchen now, but still in the utility 😱
I have one also, given as a Christmas gift by my loving Grama when I was newly married. We were poor so the gift was well used throughout the years. It looks shaggy inside from all the use but I just keep it for the memories ♡♡♡
I follow the salted pepper on UA-cam her recipes are great…

Welcome aboard Sally. We are happy you are here.
@@JaneH3675 Luckily for me, I have a nice buffet where I can keep all of my china. It's everything else that feels over whelming.
My little sister painted a sweet/beautiful picture using old makeup. It was frame worthy, wish she had kept it.
I am a packrat and I will construct a double garage once I win the big one. Amen
I’ve read clutter is connected to trauma.
I’ve read that too!
This charming video makes you believe in marriage.
The greater issue are pieces of material worth like cristalls and china etc. Where to sell them easily or what to do with it???
I know lots of people who seek in Facebook marketplace. We have never used it but some people love it. Things you don’t want any more end up in the hands of those who do, and you make some money along the way.
Poshmark, Mercari, and other online thrift resale platforms.
I have a problem you haven’t mentioned- I have some valuable items that I am embarrassed to have and don’t want anyone else to have either. Like a silk scarf with swastikas printed on it that came from
Germany in 1933. It’s historical but I wouldn’t want a white suprematist to flaunt it.Also elephant tusks that were obtained legally over 50 years ago but being a conservationist it seems wrong. I don’t want anyone else to even want it. They have intrinsic value butI don’t know what to do.
Have you thought of contacting museums that might want them? I pondered this for a while and this is what came to mind. Hope it helps
Smithsonian?
holy air fryer....my wife and i said the same thing....."would he mind if we gave it back to him"
Can't stand my air fryer! Nothing has turned out well in it. Huge waste of money and counter space.
i always hang my clothes backward and at the end of the year the hangers thst are not turned around i get rid of also if you buy some new clothing get rid of an old one
Kids don’t want their parents’ BROWN furniture?! You mean their WOOD furniture! They don’t know quality!
If it’s not useable to you donate it to a BATTERED WOMANS RESALE STORE ! You can get a tad of credit off your income tax’s ! You win, the poor battered woman win (?) and even the children of the battered woman win !
Great tips. You forgot to link to your digital-photo frame in the Description.
At 11:44, you talk about a digital photo frame (Aventure? Aventuron?) to which you said you would post the link in the description. Please add it. “Enquiring minds want to know!”
This is fun so true what you are saying. Now as get older and children gone too much clutter to rid off. Thanks for the humour😂❤.
I let friends and family know that I collect gift cards. Instead of gifts.
Love this idea!!! 😀😍
Have a garage sale!!! Make some money on your junk $$$ Then donate what doesn't sell.
Just make sure the leftover stuff does NOT go back in the house or apt.
@@davidrollins4272 When I have a yard sale, I mean nothing comes back into the house, "NOTHING"!!
I absolutely love my air fryer. Don’t get rid of yours. Go on UA-cam lol and you will find a whole bunch of different recipes and how to use the air fryer. I have even made pizza made cookies and so much more in an air fryer, I use it so much. I’ve never ever deep fry anything or use a lot of oil in my cooking anymore. Don’t throw away your air fryer.
Thanks for the tips! Maybe we will try using it again. Thank you.
