I was a freshman in college at the University of Northern Iowa when the UNIdome collapsed in December 1994. I remember that night, so much snow! They sold off small pieces of the torn roof panels to students and staff as souvenirs. It was and still is a great venue. I’ve gone to concerts, watched sports, had class, judged a physics competition and even spent the night. Skipped commencement and got my diploma in the mail, though. GO PANTHERS! Fun, well done video but honestly I’d love to know how some totally unrelated videos end up in my daily feed LOL!
The UNI Dome is located in Cedar Falls, Iowa and opened in 1976. Small correction for you, it is the home to the University of Northern Iowa, thus UNI. It is only utilized for some high school championship games. It's also used for conventions, boat shows, sports shows, etc. I went to sports camp there a few times and spent the night in the dome twice, the coaches played 'Bryan's Song' on the ceiling of the dome, that was back in 1977/79, the original dome ceiling was on. The Eagles played in concert the night of my last day at camp and we got to meet them.
The Alerus Center in Grand Forks only holds 12k for football and 21k for concerts. The Fargodome, holds 18,700 for football and 26k for concerts, but with a sliding south endzone, can be configured for as small as 3,500
They just completed a big renovation of the West side of the DakotaDome in the last year or two. It is a MAJOR upgrade from the wooden bleachers that used to be on that side. I feel like you could have made mention of Northern Michigan's Superior Dome, even though it didn't fit your criteria, since it is the ONLY indoor stadium in D2 or D3.
College football is played from fall right into winter. Domed stadiums make a lot on sense if your school is located in a cold weather climate. With smaller schools it definitely helps with attendance
I am from Toronto and when the Skydome name was chosen I remember on the radio someone mentioned there was another dome stadium in Arizona named Skydome, first time actually seeing the Arizona version
Not an arena/dome, but I remember when I walked into Sanford Stadium for the very first time. If you remember Rudy’s dad when he walked into the stadium to watch his son play, that look on his face. Yeah, and I think I even said “This is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen” 😂. Yeah those air supported roofs where a good idea back in the day, not so much now.
That was a really cool video. You missed one and I probably only know this because I live in Michigan. In the U. P. there is the Superior Dome and it hosts a lot of highschool games for teams from that area but the main Tennant is for Northern Michigan University. It's the only dome stadium in the world that is made from wood. I also believe the room is made of wood. Keep up the great videos, I really enjoy them.
Yeah because why? The two most attended sports mostly play in the fall and winter, which are COLD AS HELL in Central NY. Lol they may play 2-3 games a year in the heat tops
The description says he's just looking at D1. Although it would be interesting to see all non-D1 domed stadiums (although not sure if there are any besides Northern Michigan).
Actually, Syracuse is only about 2 hours from Buffalo’s NFL stadium and I believe a couple of other stadiums on the list are within a few hours of an NFL team’s stadium.

Appreciate at least the mention of UTSA I’m sure the Alamodome will make for an interesting episode one day ☝️

Fun fact about the Carrier dome, it’s held the New York State Field Band Conference Championships since the 1980’s, it’s held every year in October

2009 my college football team from Louisiana visited the Dakotadome.
Couldn’t imagine living in 90 % of the places on this list.

I been to the UNI Dome for Cedar Falls vs Kennedy HS football game. I been to Carrier Dome
the smartest money for sure they need to be able to use building year around and for more than just foot ball
Until recently the Carrier Dome (named for the air conditioner company) didn’t have anyA/C
i remember they had a heat wave during a home game

The new name is ass imo
You forgetting Superior Dome, Northern Michigan University. Heading says all of college footballs domed stadiums.
The description says he's just looking at D1. Although it would be interesting to see all non-D1 domed stadiums (although not sure if there are any besides Northern Michigan).
Headline says all college football enclosed stadiums.
Their team and some doesn’t matter
@@patrickfurlong9169 The thumbnail picture and the video description both say Division 1.

You forgot about Northern Michigan's Superior Dome.
They are D2, but I have been to Marquette! Tahquamenon Falls and Whitefish Point!
Did you know the Kibbie Dome needed a roof over the original roof?
Does anyone know that instrumental song playing in the beginning of this video?
It's from the UA-cam audio library. It was a song posted similar to when this video was posted. March or April 2021.

@@LaBreeceTV thank u. I appreciate it!!!
These are some ugly stadiums lol
The commentary and information definitely was spot on though. Learned something new today!
Would UTSA make the qualifications for this video?
"WWE" WCW?
The biggest college basketball crowd was in the superdome in the 1980s
Michelle Obama! Ha Ha Ha!
Get over it. It's amazing how people can still be so upset about 2 former first lady's ago.
