Japan's Most Beautiful Shrine | Exploring Nachi Taisha
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 сер 2020
- Tucked halfway up a mountain, deep in Japan's Wakayama prefecture you will find what just might be Japan's most beautiful shrine. A stunning pagoda set against a mountain waterfall is really just the beginning of what makes Nachi Taisha so spectacular.

First official vid in this year's Adventure with Victor (Frame of Travel)!
If you haven't seen it yet, take 2 minutes and check out what's coming!! ua-cam.com/video/mHjdmzkk_5s/v-deo.html
All the goodies are hidden in the description box! See you guys again, real soon!
Finishes watching something and returns to the UA-cam home on the FireTV only to find ... New TokyoLens video appeared 1 minute ago!
Lovely video, you were right the other day when you said about not needing to narrate some of it. The pictures speak for themselves.
When you are taking shots across from the indicated platform, of the building with the waterfall in the background, what sort of lens were you using?
So beautiful thanks for taking us with you, loved the building and waterfall together amazing.
😃😍💙👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👋👋👋👋👋
Yes yes yes!!. Thank you Norm! I've been trying to find the name of this shrine, and you've showed me the way!
Beautifully done...actually loved the rain. It added a nice relaxing ambiance.☔🌧
Awesome video Norm, great having Victor there too. Those are some great sights, I hope you both had a great time. I definitely have to go here.
*sees opening 2 seconds, saves to personal japan playlist for next trip ideas*
Definitely with the visit~
*worth lol
:) did the same thing but I searched for it on maps and saved the location. Looks like it's not easy to get there without a car though.
@@TokyoLens But there are more torii in fushimi inari🤩
@@user-df2xb7df1r and less waterfalls lol
Breathtaking views
😊
I though u are that onion chopping ninja www 🍪
I just love how clean Japan is, wherever you go there's no rubbish or litter
I'm a little late but still here to watch this beautiful piece of art 🥰
Oh. My. God!
How could this be only 5 minutes and 51 seconds? I want it to go on forever!
How is such beauty possible in the real world?
Are you sure you didn't drive through to an alternate universe?
I think the rain actually added to the other-worldly ambiance.
Given what's been on the news today, I really, REALLY needed this.
Beautifully shot, beautifully edited, beautiful music! You have amazing skills.
Thank you for helping to preserve my sanity.
All too kind
It really does feel like an alternate world thigh
Driving up the mountain and then... it’s there
Stunning
The location and the mountain waterfall look like heaven!
That place + the rain = Perfection
You know how you can somehow... smell a picture? Well, this is one of those but in video form. The cool mountain air with a hint of petrichor, the cypress (hinoki) and pine whether its leaves or wood, the burning incense, the sandalwood sawdust used to purify yourself before you enter a shrine, with a hint of vegetal moss as you crunch up the stairs or down the trail? Oh yes.
Love the chimes at 3:45 and the gravel crunch ASMR at 4:05.
Great work here Norm. I thought nothing would rival the Changchun shrine in Taiwan's Taroko Gorge in terms of mixing nature, running water, and religion/faith. Guess I was wrong. Excited for the next video!
The most exciting part for me is that this isn’t even the best vid to come in this series 😉
Glad you enjoyed it that much!
Highly evocative description, Marcus. A joy to read, to feel and nose... Oh yes. You're right. The photography captures the location's spiritual power as well.
Just picked my jaw up from the floor - breathtaking 😍😍
Thank youuuuu 😊
Watching this makes me want to go back asap. We could not have asked for better weather than what we got that morning. Next time, we'll be prepared for those deer XD
It was honestly perfect weather for the day in the situation
We got really lucky
Thanks again for all the help!!
Shooting sun or shade/weather. Do you have a favorite? Up until last December/ January, I think I would've said nicer weather [less to hold onto when shooting 😅]. The mountains definitely have a deeper, more reverent, expectant feel in the rain and snow. I shot Karumadera and Doryoson (Daiyuzan Saijoji Temple)in the rain/mist, and Nikko's Toshogu in the snow. Shooting in the snow is possibly my new favorite. Remember to pack your hand warmers, gloves are not enough 😆. So glad you got to check Nachi off your bucket list. This was spectacular. 💓
@@KirstenReusch Snow is my all time favorite. Some of my best shots in insta were in the snow. Just wish I had a license to travel via car more during winter XD
Incredible choice of music to compliment the magic of that area. I’m in love 😇
I was there in November 2019! It's sooo beautiful, not just the pagoda and the waterfall, but also the Nachi Taisha shrine, up the mountains, with the gorgeous view from above on the surrounding mountains, it's just perfection, I loved it a lot (despite the maaaany steps to climb to reach it! Somehow nobody shows them :D )
And I agree with your friend, I also took the iconic photo from that spot, but it doesn't give the feel of the surrounding mountains and forests, it's so much better to see it in real life :)
Gotta agree with Vic that being at a place is so much better than a pic, no matter how lovely the photo. Its the best reason to go to Japan yourself.
Normally I like a blue sky but this shrine looked so good in the rain and mist! The color of the shrine really popped against the grey light of the day.
This made me so happy. It took so long for me to get there and when I was finally there I cried on my hike, cried at the falls, cried leaving, and cried watching this video. I miss this area so much! 😭💖
My absolute favourite soul-soothing environment. Verdant, fog-drenched, coolness. Yes!
Uh....I think I cried about...3 times watching this? I don't think I've been so taken aback by something so beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing this, Norm.
That’s intensely kind of you
Thanks so much~
Really
Definitely more to come
Wow I'm speechless, this place is stunning
Thanks Kicch!!
Japan is the epitome of Aesthetic Beauty. Everything looks so harmonious, pleasant, clean and beautiful.
What a breathtaking first shot! That vibrant temple red orange and the gorgeous waterfall. Wow. Thanks much!
Glad you enjoyed it that much!!
I've seen "Japan's most beautiful shrine" thrown around alot... But in this case... I think you're right.
That whole area is simply stunning. And you've captured it so well Norm. Kudos!
My jaw dropped from the opening shot... that's stunning! Thanks for sharing.
Quite the place to be!
@@TokyoLens it's now on my bucket list, that's for sure!
I just can't understand how a country's beauty, culture and people have effected me so much. I will return again, and again , and again. Cheers.
The red and the green contrast eachother so well. The atmosphere of this area is pure ambience. This is somewhere I’d like to find inner peace.
Stunning.....
So beautiful and peaceful...
For some reason, that was so beautiful it made me super emotional. Thank you for the video.
Absolutely stunning.
I was fortunate enough to find your channel recently!
This is another great video of hidden Japan!
日本人として、こういった場所をご紹介して頂けることは、大変光栄です!
これからも応援させていただきます!
Every time I think of Japan this is one of the shrines I picture in my head. It’s very breathtaking especially it being next to a waterfall, love how everything in Japan somehow mixes with nature providing a relaxing mood.
This area is so breathtaking. Yet another place I have to visit once I come to Japan!
10/10 fully recommend
Just how beautiful is that place! It's incredible!
Thank you so much for putting this together... the intro itself just completely took my breath away
Breathtaking views! Thank you for sharing.
this place looks so incredibly serene, I can't help but imagine myself waking up there to be greeted by the mountains, I also absolutely love the clouds they add so much atmosphere and the mountain that are engulfed im them remind me of my home. Great video and absolutely beautiful shots.
Definitely one of my favorite videos ❤ Thank you!
Be proud of the beautiful angles and shots you take.
From the moment this video started up until it ended, I have been in awe. Such a bubble of serenity! I think I could listen to that waterfall and watch the birds all day long there…
This is gorgeous Norm!!! You should submit it into a contest....pure beauty!!
Thx for the Video! Part of the shots were some of the best you did so far! I felt so relaxed after watching! 👍
The footage + music in this video is poetry in the form of a video. Just can't stop admiring it.!
Get some sleep you earned it. The shot looks so amazing and you are just fueling my desire to return to Japan. I have no idea when I'll go back or if I can actually live there, but damn it you definitely burn that fire in me to try. Cheers to you!
Really glad you enjoy it that much~
Thank you 😊
Thank you so much for sharing, I feel the rain really brought out the beauty of the area and you captured it so beautifully.
I was having a very stressful morning, trying to get my 3 kids set up for the first day of virtual school. Saw this video come up as a notification. Thank you for a wonderful pause to my day. This helped me calm down and relax for the moment. Please keep sharing more videos like this. Thank you.
Their architecture is so beautiful.
This gives me a very relaxing, peaceful feeling.
another beautiful place in japan for sure.. sweet video
Absolutely breathtaking... what an incredible start to the adventure! 😍
Thank you so much for asking Victor to describe what he was feeling in that moment. A picture can speak a thousand words, but it never quite articulates the emotions of the photographer as they snapped it. I could see in his eyes how enthralled he was taking in that view, and I am so happy for him that he made it there! 💖
Beautiful edit too, along with the music it really sold the majestic surroundings of the location! I cannot wait to see where we go next with you! 😃
Thank you, guys! ☺
Thanks Toby
Really glad that you enjoyed it that much
Was just a quiet morning and I think this accurately describes the morning as it was!
This is one of the reasons why we should all learn to love, live, and share the beauty of each others cultures. It's amazing what beauty all cultures have to offer if we just take the time and allow to see & learn without judgment.
My favourite video. Thank you Norm & Victor.
So glad I'm watching this channel. These views are a scene of beauty.
Hailing from the Pacific Northwest of the U.S., I hasten to mention that rain is only an obstacle for the weak.
This video is achingly beautiful. Arigato gozaimasu. 🙂
This video is just so chill
Beautiful cinematic experience, very well shot.
Always gotta love your videography, its amazing. The place looks amazing.
I had the pleasure going to Nachi Taisha last year during the Spring to get my bucket shot. It was such an incredible and beautiful ride there. My first time driving in Japan. I can't wait to go back.
Nachi Taisha is breathtaking!
Anytime I have hard time going to sleep I just watch this video and the vibes the music puts me in such a peaceful state and eventually to sleep. Hope to visit this place one day but until then I’ll be coming back to this video!
I didn't know about this place in Japan, it is absolutely incredible, even magical.
thanks man. what a beautiful place
so beautiful
Gorgeous. Relaxing, peaceful, and gorgeous, especially the shot with both the shrine and waterfall.
when the rain fell the colors became more intense, perfect!
Beautiful, loved it, Thank You So Much!
Absolutely breathtaking bi think the rain makes it even more stunning
Looks like very peaceful place
Thank you for sharing this beautiful scenery to us! Took my breath away!
That is easily one of the most beautiful locations I've ever seen. Wow, thanks for showing us!
This literally gave me goosebumps...I'm currently saving for a trip for Feb/March 2022 and this is definitely going on my list.. I have a feeling it's going to make me cry when I get there, it just looks so beautiful and Serene
Much love from Arizona ❤️❤️
I was at Nachi Taisha in January! I feel lucky to have been there pre COVID.
Beautifully presented.
Thanks.
Magically beautiful place and Shrine. ⚘️
IMHO The most picturesque spot on the planet❗
its so beautiful 😌
You just can't get enough of Japanese shrines. Everything is so stunning. ❣️❣️❣️👌
The king of cinematic, landscape slow-mos
I literally shed a tear while I was looking at the breathtaking view 🥺Japan is really a great place to visit 🥲❤️
This was all so beautiful and peaceful. Wow. Such lovely views of an amazingly jaw-dropping location
Such exquisite opening shots!! What a perfect thing to end my Christmas day with. So calming. 🌸
So beatiful, must visit it when i can come to Japan
Absolutely breathtaking 🥰🥰🥰
Such a gorgeous place, this video just radiates such lovely calming vibes, just what I needed on a Sunday night, and something to add to the folder for a Japan trip!
@tokyo lens great video so clear ty for taking us around with you Aloha
All I can say is thank you for that stunning experience of beautiful video. I will definitely keep this place in mind to visit when I visit Japan .
Beautiful landscapes, amazing cinematography, and here I am thinking how nice it would be to have one of those see-through umbrellas
LOL they’re everywhere in japan
@@TokyoLens i have noticed this and I wonder: is it because (in Tokyo anyway) there are so many things on upper floors that with a see thru umbrella you can still see where you are going without tipping the umbrella back and getting wet/getting in someone's way?
This said, Japan seems to have an awesome umbrella culture, and I don't just mean amagasa parasols. There are companies that use more ribs in their umbrellas to make them sturdier and longer lasting. (I may have 2 umbrella shops on my "next time in Tokyo" list...)
It’s just a really popular umbrella style
And I think it’s really good in a good city as crowded as Tokyo
Because even with clear umbrellas, people still bump into each other‘s umbrellas to level that you wouldn’t even begin to believe!!
Absolutely breathtaking. I think this may be my favorite. ✨
that was like a 5 minute dream! sooooo beautiful! The rain gave an extra cozy vibe to it!
This video is everything! Makes me miss Japan so much 😭 I can't wait to be able to go back!!!
I first saw this spectacular mountain waterfall in a BBC documentary;. I was mesmerized by its serene beauty. The BBC video captured its unique beauty even better than in this video. It was taken on a sunny day, and the shrine was packed with Japanese pilgrims. One could feel what it's really like to be there in person. You could almost breathe the mountain air and experience the silence of the place as the waterfall cascaded slowly down the mountain. It was almost like heaven. I'm going to use the image of this mountain waterfall in my meditation practice to induce inner peace and tranquillity as I meditate.
i remember the first time i watched this video and being absolutely starstruck that a place like this actually exists. this seems like it's perfectly cut from a movie with the stark contrast between the shrine and the waterfall. another gorgeous place added to my japan bucketlist!
Oh wow, this is amazing and the music just added to the ambience of the footage.
A must go to if I ever make it to Japan .
You’ll make it!!
For sure~
Glad you enjoyed this
Wow, just .... wow,, speechless
I was there in 2015. Watching the video almost I feel as if I'm re-living my experience! Amazing nature, amazing architecture, friendly people! 💕🇯🇵
Wow, just wow. I‘m honestly speechless, it’s really really beautiful. Thank you for making this video! I hope that one day I can somehow get up there and see it with my own eyes. The cloudy/rainy weather kinda gave the shrine a really dreamlike atmosphere, love it!
Awww thank you so much~
Love this video, so beautiful!
I was here a few years ago. Till today this stands out as my number 1 location in Japan. The mystic vibes you get with the altitude & waterfall is like a stairway to heaven.
I was searching for this kind of video from japan . Finally found it . Subscribed . I like to see this kind of unique places
Stunning videography as always Norm! That sense of tranquillity and calmness really came through the video, it really does look like a spot where fables and folktales are set in.
Honest not hard when the spot is this beautiful~
Thank you so much!
That view is simply astounding. Thank you for sharing it with all of us - I hope to visit it myself someday!
Hope you get there!!
Beautiful
