Very impressive. Have not really been a creeper farm fan but these new mechanics may have me building one after the update. Well done on the redo!
Great update to the previous video! Nice to see a little more parity between the two editions coming… Not sure if it’s something that I would consider building but it’s great information in the functionality of the game and how it can be done!
Dude I absolutely love this video! I love the effort you pit into this and will fs be building this in my world, I built wattles farm and its decent but this is definitely better! Thanks
Thanks for the update!
Prowl does it again! Awesome job. Thanks my guy
I would love to see a modification of the creeper farm with fences scaffolding and water that you have into what will now work on 1.21
I copied this. Made a double. Nothing but respect and I thank you for the effort put in to making it the most efficient and productive farm in Bedrock! But I was going nuts with spider spawns. Kept losing golem to spiders and getting into the mob spawner for repairs is annoying. But, if you use all buttons on the ground the spiders are basically non existent! 100% creeper spawns! I tried trap doors and carpets. Nope! Spiders. Checker board buttons! Perfect.
This comment will save my farm!
You're genius brother❤ i am proud of you❤
Dude! 🎉 Prowl does it again!
Really excited for 1.21 now. Now my fingers are crossed for some basic code clean up operations so my son and i can play together on Ps4 without random crashes and corruptions. 🤞
Great troubleshooting !! We love to see some love for bedrock 😅. A full tutorial would be appreciated when you figure out all the nitty gritty details
So I have a question. Could you not still use your creeper farm that you released a month or 2 ago and maybe make it a checkerboard pattern like you have in this scaffolding then maybe trapdoor or fence? Then have a waterstream on every row?
Great video! If they did mob spawn parity, they'd also have to fix the looting bug to make the farms work sinilarly. That would nerf trident killers to the point that you would get the same results with campfires (like on java). Would you be cool with losing trident killers even if your farms were more productive?
I wouldn't, because bedrock doesn't have the off hand yet, Doesn't do much good to have the same spawn mechanics if you have to kill the mobs with a shovel in order to repair it lol...
This is such a funny series of videos. It doesn’t work! It might work but maybe not! It works!
Thank you for making these, super helpful to understand the newest changes!
It s a good farm. I rather build your general mob farm cause i also want the arrows and bones. In a multiplayer world it would be a definite.
After a while having a specific gunpowder farm becomes a very good idea, specially with several other useful farms producing bones, string and arrows

Im gonna hate to have to change all my farms but also gonna love this change cause it's going to make it so much better etc and open more options
HELP!!!
I started building this, I've got one tower complete, but I am getting NO creeper spawns. An occasional spider AFK is at Y241. it's above an ocean monument where I built my guardian farm, so no guardians are able to spawn. I have walls of tinted glass. Roof is also all tinted glass. My only difference is trapdoor placement. I have it every other block. The pattern in the video wasn't working in testing. Got a bunch of spiders.
I checked the spawning radious with the armor stand addon and my platforms are above the green and below the red. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Monument messing it up? I thought oceans were good biomes for creepers.
Hey Prowl, I was thinking about this and wanted to share. If you're using a trident killer on the farm, why are we still dropping them as well? Wouldn't it kill them off faster if the trident killer was directly underneath the tower of spawn platforms and thus increase rates a tad? When I've gone with this method I like to use a dropper underneath the killer to drop the mob drops down to the AFK platform.
Dropping them takes them out of the spawning radius. But if you still put the afk spot where he said to and put them slightly out of the spawning radius. It should still work.
@@ruse_d_news That makes sense!
Thank you so much
Hi Prowl! I have a couple of question. First of all, do we know for certain that these spawning mechanic changes will make it to the update or is it just kind a of "what if we did this.." thing? Second question, could I, theoretically, build this farm tonight in my survival world and when the update hits, it just magically starts working? Thank you for your hard work in these videos; if you keep them coming, I'll keep watching.
We can be fairly sure they will... but I wouldn't be so sure that I start making changes to my world plans yet.
@@Prowl8413 honestly, the aesthetic of the four-quadrant version hanging above the bay in my world would make it worth it, alone. There's never any plans in my world; I just build what my kids and I decide would look really neat and add to the vibe. We made Wattles's general mob farm from his current guide series but instead of a dungeon looking box, it's a Rubik's cube (doesn't fit any other build style but is fun to have)
I went back to the video, and it was very informative on how spawns and such work on bedrock thank you. Do you know by chance a way to get god armor on bedrock?
Hey Prowl!
Why is the trident killer have such a long tube on the way down? Don't you want a short trasmission between the spawn of the creeper and the trident?
So the trident killer should be more further up and since Impaling V (with water) one shots a creeper anyway, fall damage really isnt needed.

I guess my question was answered haha
Are you that texture pack creator
@FundamSrijan I like creating textures, but I think you might have the wrong person. Which texture pack are you talking about?
@@AyaanThe0ne no , no , no
You are the correct person . I have seen your textures 👌👌👌 in sp4rk's server I guess .
@@FundamSrijan yep!! I'm in sparkslye's server :D
I have this farm on Minecraft bedrock with 10 levels of spawning areas and it’s above sea level so spawns are isolated into the farm, but I do not get good rates at all. Changed carpet to checker board pattern buttons and it did not make a difference.
bro, i need a full tutorial of that farm optimized
The creeper farm with cats (Chapman farm) may be more effective.
Edit: The gnembon mob farm (with slabs) would also likely be more effective
im pretty sure in java theres a check if there is a mob there and then if there is one it wont spawn one there but on bedrock dont think that exists
Hey it's me again. I was wondering does this give xp too? And do you have to use the Trident to kill the creepers 😊
A small thought i had watching this and i didn't see you address it. Did you factor in the damage the creeper receives from the snow golem before the drop (i would assume the creeper is hit more than once). Some creepers may not actually be getting killed by the tridents.
Snowballs don't do any damage :)
@@Prowl8413 ah ok, forget I said anything xD I was unaware of this fact. Thank you. Great video btw @Prowl
I think I still prefer a general mob farm on bedrock. I normally start with a simple, manual farm before saving up the resources for the real deal with the scaffolding and water. But, I think it is good to test Java-based farms on Bedrock to see what kind of issues we may encounter since most YTer are Java players.
In Java when you're out and about at night there's barely any mobs anywhere, how is it when you build a farm they suddenly begin to flood in?
Mobs in Java start spawning at the bottom of the world, and work their way up to surface, so most of the mobs end up being underground.
I need help. I cannot eliminate spider spawning whatsoever. There's about 6 spiders that are constantly getting stuck in the drop down. I've gone through the farm multiple times and don't see spots where spiders could spawn.
THIS FARM DOES WORK ALREADY IN BEDROCK CURENTLY BUT IM ALSO HAVINNG the same problem
I think the reason that they don’t make mobs spawn in faster on bedrock is because my son still plays on an iPad 4 mini, and his bestie plays on a switch. Neither of these have the oomph to handle Java spawning rates. Maybe they could up it a little and also bump the drop rates to get us closer… love the follow up though. 😜🎉🤪
My xbox one could never handle it. I built a farm out of 3 spider spawners that are just close enough to work all together and afk. I left for like 6-7 minutes and came back just to find out i didnt turn on the trident killer. My character couldnt move at all because the lag was so bad. Id say as a rough guess, there were about 400 spiders jammed up. 250 realistically would produce the same result. It would definitely break our games.
By Iskalls creeper farm, don't you mean Wattles creeper farm?
Edit: made comment after reading title and before watching to hear you did credit Wattles
Whats is the simulation distance for?
Does split density work as well for the far
I think that some of these changes will bring good things to Bedrock.
Soo can I build this as of now on bedrock I know it’s only 1.20.7 or should I wait for update if soo when does update come out
Wait till we get closer, incase they change anything.
Can snow golems still agro mobs through mine cart chests but not shoot through them? I remember doing a slim farm like that a while ago.
Once they lock on to a mob in their range, they will stay locked on that mob until it is outside of their range.
We need a complete tutorial right now! Please
Yippee! We lose our good farms, but gain so much for the future!!!
I think a ghast farm is still more efficient but definitely less easy to build
How's it going brother?
Do cats block mob spawns? Cuz that would be an easy way to get the creeper to move
Also what if you just destroyed the trap door and have an "air block" so that creepers dont have to walk that far
Cat scare range is very short on Bedrock, about 4 blocks... very inefficient for the huge headache it is getting them into position.
Does creeper farms produce more gunpowder than similar size general mob farm. I tested this and found its produced almost similar amount of gunpowder in both farms. So i think creeper farm is just waste of trapdoors.
If you watched the video, with 1 creeper farm at simulation distance 4, I could produce about 2500 gunpowder per hour. A general mob farm in Sim 4 will only produce about 800 gunpowder
It’s nice that we may not need to worry if a Java farm may not work on bedrock anymore
iron farm is still different tho
are we able to use this farm yet? or are the mechanics still in the works?
Now if only we can get iron farms like on Java that'd be great
I know it's not yet in effect in Vanilla Minecraft but can I create it now in anticipation of the changes in 1.21?
Id hold off till closer to release, incase things change.
@@Prowl8413 this farm is currently working on bedrock not as is but all you need to change is the trapdoors on the floor to slabs and then make sure the walls are made of a solid block to prevent the spiders from spawning. Other than that i built this basically identical. rates aren't the same but for where i have it its a passive farm.
So the farms we will build in 1.21 will be more efficient then our current farms ?
on bedrock my ghast farm gives 4000+ gun powder per hour is that good
Hey @ prowl8413 i am haveing trouble with this creeper farm design because i built it exactly how you show with the modifications and i get nowhere even close to what you got plus my snowgolems keep dieing
Is this confirmed to work in 1.20.81? I am on my realms and I have tried everything and can’t get it to work
Wish we had the armour stand mod on xbox .... or do we and i cant find it ??
You dont at this time unfortunately.
u can do it by creating a realm on mobile devices, add the mod, then u have to get in that realm on ur xbox. boom, u'll have the mod on a console!
Can u make a tutorial of the farm
It’s not working for me any ideas ? I placed everything correctly
It only works on Java. It will work on bedrock after a new update.
any idea what update is going to add the villagers nerfs fully
1.21
@@simplemc_0137 ty
The nerfs are NOT planned at this time... I would not expect them to come to the game.
@@Prowl8413 ok ty Prowl
So.. should I build this tonight in my survival world or should I wait for 1.21?
Wait
Will it work on minecraft bedrock 1.20 If I built it in my server I also builted another creeper farm but in that farm creeper is spawning very slow
This won't work on 1.20, but will on 121
👍👍👍
Download?
Bro can you make this farm only for simulation distance 8 please
Just make it taller, maybe 10 levels.
I'm so pleased that Mojang are FINALLY trying to get at least some semblance of parity with the way mobs spawn on Bedrock/Java....... now for doing something about those rates because they are making life a LOT harder for us Bedrock players. As for the farm tweaks, I think I can see another way to add more spawning spaces and that's to do with the outside edge of the quad farm. I'm actually thinking of putting another 4 trident shoots at the middle point of the outside edges, just so that where the farm currently bumps in, it would actually bump out and try to fit more into the mob spawning sphere. I'll have to have a go and see if my pc will just about handle running minecraft with that armour stand helper tool and see what I can come up with. This is really exciting being among the first people who will be designing mob farms with the new mechanics of something soooo simple as changing the location that a mob spawns. So cool!! Thanks for the farm revisit Prowl..... maybe you can build some other Java farms that just don't work on Bedrock so that Mojang can fix them less then a week later?!?!?!? 😂👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
So why does Java have better rates? Do the mobs just spawn faster on Java?
In Java, the limit of mobs is 70 per person, Bedrock it is much less
Could you build this on ground level?
If you are going to be diligent enough to light up all the caves within a 44 block radius (if playing on sim 4) of your AFK spot, then yes you could.
@@Prowl8413
Thank you for the quick response. I'm new to mob farms and this helps a lot
@@Prowl8413 I have yet another question. I play on PlayStation version of bedrock will this still work and how do you change the chunks your talking about (if you can)
But why don't zombies and skeletons spawn?! Don't they have the same spawn mechanics as creepers?
No, they require 2 full block height to spawn, creepers only need 1.8 block height... hence the trap doors on the cieling.
@@Prowl8413 Never knew that. Thanks! No video I've seen before has ever mentioned why they're able to get pure creeper spawns.
Making creeper farm in bedrock by bedrock style is easier and has more success rate than java style.
For the life of me, I can't get Foxy's armor stand to work.
Same. Idk if I’m using an outdated pack or wut.
@YetiGx I'd say so. Happened to me so I updated it. Works fine
@@YetiGxmojang removed some molang queries that the pack use...thats why it some feature doesn't work
I which i had a pc iwould be the best Minecraft player in the World
The roof on this farm should be solid blocks, and the farm should be in an ice spikes or frozen ocean biome.
Solid roof so that the mobs in the farm are cave spawns. The cave spawn cap is much higher than the surface spawn cap, so with a solid roof you'd get more creepers in your farm simultaneously.
And frozen ocean or ice spikes because skeletons don't attempt spawn in caves in those biomes, so you will only be blocking the spawn attempts of spiders and zombies. Less failed attempts means higher output.
I have a question see don't get me wrong but why to make creeper farm when you can make ghast farm on neather and it will give you almost twice the rate like 3-4 thousand gunpowder phr i just have a doubt about this ok
The hoops we have to jump through on Bedrock lol...
Extremely frustrating, but hats off to all the Bedrock Engineers out there trying to get this janky copycat to work even half as well as the real version.
does this really works?
In the Minecraft 1.21 preview as of right now as you can see in the video, yes.
How do I get the 1.21 bedrock preview on PlayStation ?
Im not sure on the process, but I do know it was recently added! Do a little searching around on Google and UA-cam, you should find something :p
My raid farm in Java produces over 5k gunpowder per hour
With the new update it won’t work anymore
Dude how do we know you didn't put that gunpowder in the chest cos on the video you are clearly in creative mode
But we already have a creeper farm for bedrock .... And its ground level !
You're a bit late to the party
skipped through it ... yours is too much and has unneccesary things like frikkin snowmen ??? wtf why??
All you need is blocks, buttons, trapdoors, 2x water and the trident killing machine at the bottom.
NOPE
If you skipped through then you missed the whole point of the video. It had nothing to do with making a good creeper farm. It had to do with testing a java method of making one, and seeing how good you could make that design while keeping with the original design intent.
@@Prowl8413 In which case, I'm pretty sure you know the version I'm talking about, making this one obsolete. The ground level one is cheaper in materials and works fine.
@jayden2u I'm not familiar with one specifically for ground level. I never do those as I dont usually like to light up caves. I do know of a good insta-push method though thats silly fast
@@Prowl8413 you have a link ?
it wont work on bedrck for console, i build 5 levels and got 5 gun powder on 15 minutes
